This study investigated a path model in which men's and women's communication behavior escalating marital conflict (CBEMC) may be influenced directly and indirectly, via negative interpretations of their spouse, by their spouse's problem behavior, the couple's turning toward bids, and dyadic perspective-taking. Self-report data were collected from 498 married men and women who were living in Busan, Korea. Multiple-group analysis revealed that the path model was not equivalent for men and women. Their couple's turning toward bids and dyadic perspective-taking for men, and their spouse's problem behavior and dyadic perspective-taking for women, had direct effects on CBEMC. Further, their spouse's problem behavior and the couple's turning toward bids had indirect effects on CBEMC through negative interpretations in both men and women. The indirect effect of dyadic perspective-taking on CBEMC was significant only for men. Finally, considering total effects, dyadic perspective-taking was the strongest predictor of CBEMC for both genders.
This study discusses the ambivalence and ambiguity in the relationship between the women's body and fashion drawings in respect to post-feminism perspectives. Deconstructivist post-feminists, perceiving the body as a passive subject, asserted that women internalize the male gaze by becoming the object of male desire, then manipulate the body to conform to that ideal. In this perspective, corsets assumed the role of the tool for forcing women's body to be obedient, restraining and suppressing the body. On the other hand, in the essentialist post-feminist perspective, which regards the women's body as an active object, insists that fashion, in its essence, is not necessarily about sex, nor is it devised to attract the male gaze. In such a viewpoint, the women's body functions as a vehicle for empowerment; by wearing corset women gain power and embraces the cultural norms of dominant beauty. As investigated in this study, the corset is both a tool for oppressing the women's body, as well as a vehicle for the voluntary expression of femininity. This ambivalence in the perception of the corset in the post-feminist theory represents the double-sided perspective in fashion as being both a subordinate construction and a powerful tool for self-expression.
By analysing women's identity rooted in Korean families and welfare policies related to families, this research aims to explore more gender-equal family welfare policies for the future. This research examines the change of families along with social changes, women's identity in families, the present family welfare policies, and women's identity in the family welfare policies. Social changes and the demand of market make influence on function and form of families. However, the broad social format of patriarchy persists and women's gender identity and gender role in families make little differences as ever. These women's gender role and gender identity are found in welfare policies related to families as they are. The women is regulated as dependent on male partner with the primary responsibilities on child rearing and elderly care. In addition, only focusing on families in need, Korean family policies are not generally established. Therefore, now, it is strongly suggested that Korean family policies concerning more diverse families should be launched with the gender-sensitive perspective.
The aim of this study is to compare and analyze the similarities and differences in traditional perspective about women between Algery and Korea. Through this study, we found out following common denominators: sexual discrimination and denigration of women. Under the patriarchal system in Korea and Algery in the past, women were considered to be inferior to men and treated as men's possessions. The noteworthy feature is the perspective of mother. In both countries, the image of woman as a mother is regarded as the source of life and a central axis leading our society. It is very remarkable that we could find a lot of common ground despite that there are a lot of social, cultural and geometrical differences. Therefore, through this study, it is proved that the proverbs tell us the universality among people in the world regardless of culture and region.
This research is based on the survey of welfare beneficiaries, aiming to set up the gender-equal welfare policies. Through the survey, this research examines status of women in the family and society and also examines, the degree of perception of women's welfare policies, needs, and satisfaction. According to the survey results, the current welfare policies that are limited to needy women should expand its range, enforcing the infra structure. That employment policy for women turned out to be very important in welfare policies. Demand for more enlarged welfare policies is quite high, especially in housing, employment and elderly care. On the contrary, the degree of satisfaction degree appears quite low because of unrealistic welfare program and benefits. In order to improve the welfare policies, more active and realistic employment policies should be emphasized with the proper support for family life. To raise the status of women, proper policies for women's economic independence should be set up. In addition, consciousness of gender equality should be encouraged in the whole society. Also, women's participation in politics and decision-making process is necessary.
After liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945, there was the three-year period of United States Army Military Government in Korea. In 1948, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Republic of Korea were established in the north and south of the Korean Peninsula. The Republic of Korea is now a modern state set in the southern part of the Korean. We usually refer to Koreans as people who belong to the Republic of Korea. Can we say that is true exactly? Why make of this an obsolete question? The period from 1945 when Korea was emancipated from Japanese colonial rule to 1948 when the Republic of Korea was established has not been a focus of modern Korean history. This three years remains empty in Korean history and makes the concept of 'Korean' we usually consider ambiguous, and prompts careful attention to the silence of 'some Koreans' forced to live against their will in the blurred boundaries between nation and people. This dissertation regards 'Koreans' who came to live in the border of nations, especially 'Korean-Japanese third generation women artists'who are marginalized both Japan and Korea. It questions the category of 'Korean women's art' that has so far been considered, based on the concept of territory, and presents a new perspective for viewing 'Korean women's art'. Almost no study on Korean-Japanese women's art has been conducted, based on research on Korean diaspora, and no systematic historical records exist. Even data-collection is limited due to the political situation of South and North in confrontation. Representation of the Mother Country on the Artworks by First and Second-Generation Korean-Japanese(Zainich) Women Artists after Liberation since 1945 was published in 2011 is the only dissertation in which Korean-Japanese women artists, and early artistic activities. That research is based on press releases and interviews obtained through Japan. This thesis concentrates on the world of Korean-Japanese third generation women artists such as Kim Jung-sook, Kim Ae-soon, and Han Sung-nam, permanent residents in Japan who still have Korean nationality. The three Korean-Japanese third generation women artists whose art world is reviewed in this thesis would like to reveal their voices as minorities in Japan and Korea, resisting power and the universal concepts of nation, people and identity. Questioning the general notions of 'Korean women' and 'Korean women's art'considered within the Korean Peninsula, they explore their identity as Korean women outside the Korean territory from a post-territorial perspective and have a new understanding of the minority's diversity and difference through their eyes as marginal women living outside the mainstream of Korean and Japanese society. This is associated with recent post-colonial critical viewpoints reconsidering myths of universalism and transcendental aesthetic measures. In the 1980s and 1990s art museums and galleries in New York tried a critical shift in aesthetic discourse on contemporary art history, analyzed how power relationships among such elements as gender, sexuality, race, nationalism. Ghost of Ethnicity: Rethinking Art Discourses of the 1940s and 1980s by Lisa Bloom is an obvious presentation about the post-colonial discourse. Lisa Bloom rethinks the diversity of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender each artist and critic has, she began a new discussion on artists who were anti-establishment artists alienated by mainstream society. As migration rapidly increased through globalism lead by the United States the aspects of diaspora experience emerges as critical issues in interpreting contemporary culture. As a new concept of art with hybrid cultural backgrounds exists, each artist's cultural identity and specificity should be viewed and interpreted in a sociopolitical context. A criticism started considering the distinct characteristics of each individual's historical experience and cultural identity, and paying attention to experience of the third world artist, especially women artists, confronting the power of modernist discourses from a perspective of the white male subject. Considering recent international contemporary art, the Korean-Japanese third generation women artists who clarify their cultural identity as minority living in the border between Korea and Japan may present a new direction for contemporary Korean art. Their art world derives from their diaspora experience on colonial trauma historically. Their works made us to see that it is also associated with postcolonial critical perspective in the recent contemporary art stream. And it reminds us of rethinking the diversity of the minority living outside mainstream society. Thus, this should be considered as one of the features in the context of Korean women's art.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the health care decision making of Ethiopian women at household level. Moreover it is to understand the factors that influence to potential customers in healthcare industry from the social quality level perspective. Methods: We used Ethiopia Demographic Health Survey (EDHS) 2005 & 2016, which provided data about currently married women aged 15-49 years (N=2003, N=2017, respectively). We performed a chi-square test, and a Pearson correlation and a logistic regression. Andersen model is considered as well. Results: This study revealed that the mobility decision making has an association with health care decision making of women. Furthermore, there is a moderate effect of an economic decision making of women. Lastly, the women's decision making empowerment level increase year by year. Conclusion: Health care industry has to consider potential costumers among women like in Ethiopia, whose decision making empowerment will enhance on their own healthcare in future. It is very important to figure out factors from the social quality management domain. It helps finding a new market from downstream approach. From this point, the impact of decision making of women empowerment has a significant implication from the holistic perspective.

This study was a phenomenological study to examine the meaning and structure of the difficulty of delivery. Participants in this study conducted deep interviews with seven female 20 to 24. The interview data was conducted through the process of analysis and interpretation using the Giorgi method. As a result of study, 12 themes were derived and 4 categories. As a result of the analysis, young women's thoughts on observing delivery consisted of 'fear', 'powerlessness', 'disgust', and 'inevitable fate'. Based on the above meaning, the structure of young women's thoughts on delivery was found to be a point of view that it is regrettable that delivery compensates for all difficulties and pain with the joy of birth. Accordingly, it is proposed to develop and apply a program that can actually alleviate the anxiety, fear, and physical discomfort experienced by women in childbearing age through childbirth.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between leisure time and time pressure based on time availability perspective and gender perspective. For this purpose, this study examined the use of leisure time and the level of time pressure according to gender and gender role attitudes and investigated the relationship between leisure time and time pressure focusing on gender differences in the moderating effect of gender role attitudes. The sample for the study was drawn from the Time Use Survey data collected by Korean National Statistical Office in 2009. Two cases were gathered from each of the samples who are married, aged over 20, presently working and raising preschoolers, which makes 3,150 cases in the total. The major findings are as follows. First, the differences of leisure time between groups according to gender role attitude are not significant, but gender differences are significant. Men's leisure time is more than women's leisure time. Secondly, people with progressive gender role attitudes have higher time pressure than people with conservative gender role attitudes. By the gender groups, women's time pressure is higher than men's time pressure. Thirdly, men's time pressure is decreasing as leisure time increases, but effect of leisure time on women's time pressure is not significant. Women with progressive gender role attitudes have higher time pressure than women with conservative gender role attitudes. On the other hand, influence of gender role attitudes on men's time pressure is not significant. Fourthly, only male group has a significant moderating effect of gender role attitudes in the relationship between leisure time and time pressure. In other words, time pressure of men with conservative gender role attitudes is decreasing more sharply than men with progressive gender role attitudes as leisure time increases. In contrast, increased leisure time does not relieve women's time pressure even though they have conservative gender role attitudes. These results show that men's time pressure can be interpreted in the time availability perspective, while women's time pressure can be described in gender perspective.
