  • In this paper, we designed and implemented DCS terminal remote monitoring middleware for real-time auditor and management terminal status signal with relay and fuse status at power management room. The middleware consist of four component as event analyzer, event manager, service manager and user interface. We expected economic effects extend relay life-time that pre-detected errors and prevented relay fault.

  • This paper suggests the IP mobility which is independent with Mobile Terminal. A similar architecture had been ever proposed at other study group like IETF. Here, it applies IP mobility in accordance with macromobility procedure so that the terminals with legacy IP stacks have the same degree of mobility as a terminals with mobility aware IP stacks. This suggests the terminal mobility with using context transfer mechanism in discussion at the IETF and a new architecture for terminal mobility in wireless access networks.

  • Due to the explosive popularization of the Internet, it has been researched for many mobile terminals how to receive various multimedia information. Especially, it has been considered that a mobile terminal is serviced with multimedia information through a inherent IP address. In this paper we have proposed the Handover Signaling Method and analyzed the Handover delay time of this proposed method in wireless section. This proposed method is appropriate to Broadband systems with Mobile IP. We have simulated Handover delay time with respect to the distance between a terminal and base stations

  • In this research, our goal is to realize Korean Distribute TTS system with server/client function in wireless network. The speech databases and some routines of TTS system is stuck with the server which has strong functions and we made Korean speech databases and accomplished research about DB which is suitable for distributed TTS. We designed a terminal has the minimum setting which operate this TTS and designed proper protocol so we will check action of Distributed TTS.

  • In the wireless network, TCP performs poorly because it was originally designed for wired networks and does not take into consideration wireless characteristics such as mobility, high-loss probability, and hidden-terminal problems. In particular, in the wireless multi-hop networks, a large congestion window increases the probability of contention and packet losses, and TCP performance is degraded severely as a result. So, it is necessary to limit the TCP congestion window size in order keep the probability of contention loss in the system to a minimum. In this paper, we propose a new scheme for determining the maximum congestion window size based on the measured bandwidth and Round-Trip-Time (RTT). Using ns-2 simulation, we show that the proposed scheme reduces the probability of packet contention and improves TCP performance.

  • Ultra wideband (UWB) technologies have been developed to exploit a new spectrum resource in substances and to realize ultra-high-speed communication, high precision geolocation, and other applications. The energy of UWB signal is extremely spread from near DC to a few GHz. This means that the interference between conventional narrowband systems and UWB systems is inevitable. However, the interference effects had not previously been studied from UWB wireless systems to conventional mobile wireless systems sharing the frequency bands such as WCDMA system. This paper experimentally evaluates the interference from two kinds of UWB sources, namely a direct-sequence spread-spectrum UWB source and an impulse radio UWB source, to a WCDMA digital transmission system. The average frame error rate degradations are presented. From these experimental results, we show that in all practical cases UWB system can coexist with WCDMA terminal without causing any dangerous interference.

  • Wireless data communication (WDC) services are increasingly penetrating the market. The two main alternative WDC technologies are wireless LAN and mobile Internet. Services based on these technologies display differences in quality attributes such as terminal device, data transmission speed, pricing scheme and so on. How consumers choose between these two alternatives will be determined by their preferences regarding such quality attributes. In turn, their preferences will affect the evolution of WDC services and related technologies. This study employs a conjoint analysis of consumer valuations of quality attributes of wireless LAN and mobile Internet services. Respondents rate hypothetical service alternatives featuring various combinations of quality attributes. By estimating consumer willingness to pay for the attributes of WDC services, the authors predict the evolution of WDC services and related technologies along various quality dimensions, make a comparison with the results of a previous study, and draw policy implications for national-and company-level R&D strategies.
