The Development of Remote Monitoring Technology for URC Robot (URC 로봇 원격 모니터링기술 개발)

  • In the ubiquitous environment, the real-time remote control and monitoring technology for intelligent robot creates service as a sharable and independent of time-location for various contents to get from a sensor or camera of the robot. In this paper, We propose the real-time monitor and control mechanism for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC are intelligent robots designed as to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless by integration the network and information technology into traditional robot. It has been carried out by implementing this technology into the target robot called ISSAC4 and proving its practical worth. We designed feasibly to control on remote site by web-browser. It guarantees a continuity of real-time image transferring by Client-Pull method.

  • 위치 기반 라우팅은 오직 지역적인 위치 정보를 기반으로 데이터를 전송한다. 이 기법은 소스가 목적지의 위치 정보를 알고 있다고 가정하면 에너지 효율적이고 단순하다. 그러나, 무선 센서 망에서 소스는 목적지인 싱크의 위치 정보를 알지 못한다. 따라서 위치 기반 라우팅의 장점을 살리기 위해서는 소스가 효율적으로 싱크의 위치 정보를 미리 획득하는 과정이 필요하다. 본 논문은 무선망에서 싱크의 위치정보 획득을 위한 제한적인 선형 플러딩 방안을 제안한다. 제안 방안에서 싱크와 소스는 각각 싱크 위치 획득을 위한 메시지를 정해진 방향으로 전송하며 두 메시지의 교차 지점에 위치한 노드는 소스에게 싱크의 위치 정보를 전송한다. 싱크의 위치 정보를 획득한 소스는 위치 기반 라우팅을 통해 싱크에게 데이터를 전송할 수 있다. 또한 망 내부에 가상 제한 플러딩 지역 구성이라는 추가 방안을 통해 두 메시지의 교차 지점 생성을 보장한다. 우리는 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안 방안이 지금까지의 방안보다 에너지 면에서 효율적이며 신뢰성 있다는 것을 증명한다.

Research on the HSE Application with Smart Device and Biometrics (스마트디바이스를 이용한 HSE 적용에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, HSE (Health and Safety Environments) research with smart device and biometrics is conducted for the worker's HSE enhancement in the manufacturing shop floor. Today, various kinds of smart devices are popularized extensively. In addition, the wearable type devices are being introduced such as google glass very recently. Smart device of werable type is exptected to bring great opportunity out in terms of HSE functionality. Smart devices of phone or tablet type are being used for on-line work between control center and manufacturing shop floor by virtue of wireless communication. However, those devices are not appropriate for detecting of worker's physical senses such as temperature and pulse. In this paper, we developed a glass type smart device and required funictions for HSE enhancement with the investigation of biometrics technology. Also, required sensors are investigated for the detecting of temperature, pulse and noxious gasses. Smart device of glass type has advantages in that most senses of personnel are gathered around faces, and also it's possible to detect neutral axis of body because the wearing location is fixed. We expect that the proposing HSE product of glass type smart device could contribute the enhancement of the HSE of manufacturing shop floor.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 관심이 높아지면서, 위치인식기술의 중요성이 대두 되고 있다. 기존에 많이 이용되어 왔던 위치인식기술에는 인공위성을 이용한 GPS, 초음파를 이용한 Cricket, 적외선을 이용한 Active Badge, RF를 이용한 RFDAR등이 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술들은 시스템을 위해 기반 시설을 전제 조건으로 하기 때문에 이용에 어려움이 따른다. 기존의 위치인식기술의 단점을 보안하기 위한 방법으로 제시된 것이 GSM과 무선 LAN을 이용한 위치인식기술들이다. 현재는 차량용 네비게이션, 물류시스템의 상품 운반 현황 추적 등 위치인식기술을 바탕으로 한 다양한 서비스들이 상용화되어 가고 있다. 상용화된 서비스들의 특성에 따라 개인화된 위치 정보를 필요로 하는 것들이 많아 지고 있으며, 개인화된 정보를 획득하고 이를 서비스에 적용하려는 시도가 여러 곳에서 진행 중이다. 개인화된 정보를 얻기 위해서는 사람이 이해하고 사용할 수 있는 장소라는 개념을 확보해야 하며, 인공지능적인 기술들을 필요로 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기반시설(AP: Access Point)이 충분한 무선 LAN을 이용하여 위치인식 기술애 대해 연구하였다. 기존의 무선 LAN 장비를 통하여 얻어진 위치 데이터를 가공하여 검색 기술의 고전적인 방법인 벡터 유사도와 확률 기반 유사도를 적용하여 인식률의 추이를 실험해 보고, 인식률 증가를 위한 방법들을 모색해 보겠다. 또 위치기반 알리미를 통하여 개인화 정보에 대한 적용 방향에 대해 연구해 보고자 한다.

  • We develop an adaptive hot-spot operating scheme(AHOS) to mitigate the negative effects from the nonuniform distribution of user location and the variation in the mixture of QoS requirements in OFDMA downlink systems. The base station in a macrocell can control the operation of picocells within the cell, and turns on or off according to the changes in the estimated user outage probability and the AHOS gain parameter. With the computer simulation, the AHOS has been proved to maximize the system throughput while maintaining the QoS outage probability very low under various system scenarios.

A Scalable Explicit Multicast Protocol for MANETs

  • Group oriented multicast applications are becoming increasingly popular in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). Due to dynamic topology of MANETs, stateless multicast protocols are finding increased acceptance since they do not require maintenance of state information at intermediate nodes. Recently, several multicast schemes have been proposed which scale better' with the number of multicast sessions than traditional multicast strategies. These schemes are also known as explicit multicast (Xcast; explicit list of destinations in the packet header) or small group multicast (SGM). In this paper, we propose a new scheme for small group' multicast in MANETs named extended explicit multicast (E2M), which is implemented on top of Xcast and introduces mechanisms to make it scalable with number of group members for a given multicast session. Unlike other schemes, E2M does not make any assumptions related to network topology or node location. It is based on the novel concept of dynamic selection of Xcast forwarders (XFs) between a source and its potential destinations. The XF selection is based on group membership and the processing overhead involved in supporting the Xcast protocol at a given node. If the number of members in a given session is small, E2M behaves just like the basic Xcast scheme with no intermediate XFs. As group membership increases, nodes may dynamically decide to become an XF. This scheme, which can work with few E2M aware nodes in the network, provides transparency of stateless multicast, reduces header processing overhead, minimizes Xcast control traffic, and makes Xcast scalable with the number of group members.

Analytical Approach of New Random-walk Based Mobility Management Scheme in IP-based Mobile Networks

  • In next-generation wireless networks, provisioning of IP-based network architecture and seamless transmission services are very important issues for mobile nodes. For this reason, a mobility management mechanism to support global roaming is highly regarded. These technologies bring a broader life by using a global roaming account through the connection of multiple devices or technology to mobile users; they also provide real-time multimedia services. This paper presents a comprehensive performance analysis of fast handover for hierarchical mobile IPv6 (F-HMIPv6), hierarchical mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6), and fast Proxy Mobile IPv6 (FPMIPv6) using the fluid-flow model and random-walk model. As a result, the location update cost of the PMIPv6 and FPMIPv6 is better than that of HMIPv6 and F-HMIPv6. These results suggest that the network-based mobility management technology is superior to the hierarchical mobility management technology in the mobility environment.

Mobile Robot with Artificial Olfactory Function

  • We have been developed an intelligent mobile robot with an artificial olfactory function to recognize odours and to track odour source location. This mobile robot also has ben installed an engine for speech recognition and synthesis and is controlled by wireless communication. An artificial olfactory system based on array of 7 gas sensors has been installed in the mobile robot for odour recognition, and 11 gas sensors also are located in the obttom of robot to track odour sources. 3 optical sensors are also in cluded in the intelligent mobile robot, which is driven by 2 D. C. motors, for clash avoidance in a way of direction toward an odour source. Throughout the experimental trails, it is confirmed that the intelligent mobile robot is capable of not only the odour recognition using artificial neural network algorithm, but also the tracking odour source using the step-by-step approach method. The preliminary results are promising that intelligent mobile robot, which has been developed, is applicable to service robot system for environmental monitoring, localization of odour source, odour tracking of hazardous areas etc.

  • RFID is new recognition technology which can trace IC chip(built in information) with wireless frequency. The present RFID is used in parcel service, missing child potection system, bus card, and extensive areas. This paper proposes and designs a belongings position tracking system using RFID with GPS. The main features of the proposed system are as follows. First, the system can in real time track the lost belongings. Second, the system can provide lost belonging location information to the users. The performance evaluation of the proposed system is performed by using AVD(Android Virture Device).

  • This proposed project is about a bicycle anti theft devised system which helps people protect the bicycle from theft and helps to track the stolen bicycle's location using a smart phone. Safety bike uses two main devices to keep the bicycle secured, the vibration sensor and GPS sensor. The purpose of this project is to put all these small devices into one well connected system which will help the bicycle owner have more control over the security of his own bicycle. The whole system can be divided into two main parts. The first part is about the hardware development whereby all electronics components are connected via the circuit design using wire wrapping technique. This hardware part includes, a vibrations sensor, a GPS receiver, a toggle switch, LED light, Bluetooth and a buzzer. Wireless Bluetooth signals are used as the means of communication between the smartphone and the microcontroller. The second part is the software part which is being to program and control the whole system. The program is written using MikroBasic, a full-featured Basic compiler for microcontroller based systems. In conclusion, this system is designed to enable user to have control in securing his/her bicycle also being able to find and locate it at any time using GPS receiver and mobile android application.
