3차원 수리 모델을 이용한 영산강 수질오염물질의 수체 내 거동 특성 분석 (Analysis of Behavior Characteristics of Water Pollutants in Yeongsan River Using 3D Hydraulic Model)

  • The Yeongsan River, a major water resource for Jeollanam-do, that is adjacent to industrial complexes and agricultural areas, is exposed to water pollution. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the impact of water pollution incidences and prepare response systems for river environment safety for other water resources in the future. Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) was applied to the mainstream of the Yeongsan River where residential, commercial, and agricultural areas are located to analyze the behavior of pollutants conducting the scenario analysis. Considering the pollutants that affected the study area, two pollutants, oil and benzene, with different physical and chemical characteristics were selected for the analysis. As a result of comparing the actual and simulated values of the water elevation, temperature, and flow rate, it was confirmed that the model adequately reproduced the hydraulic characteristics of the Yeongsan River. The oil flow dynamics showed that an increase in flow rate led to reduction in the maximum height of the slick. Notably, the behavior of the oil was predominantly influenced by the wind conditions. In the case of benzene, lower flow scenarios exhibited decreased arrival times and residence times accompanied by an elevation in the maximum concentration levels. From the results of pollutant behavior in the study area, it is feasible to utilize the section of tributary confluence for collection and the weir area for dilution. This study enhances the understanding of the pollutant's behavior with different characteristics and develops effective control systems tailored to the physicochemical attributes of pollutants.

Effects of different levels of crude protein and protease on nitrogen utilization, nutrient digestibility, and growth performance in growing pigs

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different levels of crude protein (CP) and protease on nitrogen (N) utilization, nutrient digestibility, and growth performance in growing pigs. A total of six crossbred ([Landrace × Yorkshire] × Duroc) barrows were individually accepted in 1.2 m × 0.7 m × 0.96 m stainless steel metabolism cages. The pigs (average initial body weight of 27.91 ± 1.84 kg) randomly assigned to six diets with six weeks (6 × 6 Latin square design). The experiment was carried out in an environment with a temperature of 23 ± 1.5℃, a relative humidity of 83 ± 2.3% and a wind speed of 0.25 ± 0.03 m/s. The dietary treatments were arranged in a 2 × 3 factorial design with two levels of CP (15.3% or 17.1%) and three levels of protease (0 ppm, 150 ppm, or 300 ppm). The average daily gain and gain to feed ratio (G:F) tended to increase (p = 0.074) with increasing amounts of protease. The low CP level diet reduced (p < 0.050) urinary and fecal N concentrations, the total N excretion in feces, and increased (p < 0.050) N retention. Different protease levels in the diet did not affect (p > 0.05) at N intake, but supplementation of the diets with 300 ppm protease decreased (p < 0.050) the N concentration in urine and feces and tended to increase (p = 0.061) the percentage of N retention retained of the total N intake. The dietary CP level did not affect (p > 0.050) the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of dry matter, digestible energy (DE), and metabolic energy (ME), but diet supplementation with 300 ppm protease showed higher (p < 0.050) ATTD of DE and ME than in the protease-free diet. Therefore, a low protein diet with protease could improve the utilization of nitrogen, thereby reducing the negative effect of N excretion into the environment while maintaining or increasing growth performance compared to a high protein diet.

덕음광산 선광광미와 주변토양의 중금속에 대한 수평.수직적인 분산에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Horizontal and Vertical Distribution of Heavy Metal Elements in Slime Dump from Dukum Mines, Korea)

  • It has been more than ten years since Dukun mine was abandoned. Tailings of waste deposits and slime dumps in the abandoned Dukum mine have been left to be deserted for fifty years. The results of fifty years of neglecting are nothing short of major environmental problems. Slime dumps have been exposed to air and water in the mine over ten years and then soil profile has been formed well. Soil in the upper layer (A horizon) is the light gray color due to the leaching of cations. Soil in the lower layer (A2 horizon, 0.2∼0.3m)is tinted with reddish brown and yellowish brown color due to the development of iron oxides and iron hydroxides. Soil in the lower part of B horizon of (1.0∼3.0m) with the growth of copper and zinc oxides exposes to the bluish green, light blue, and dark gray. Ranging from 3m to 8m in depth, 85 samples were taken from 22 sampling sites with 50m intervals located on the slime dump area with hand auger and trench (open cut). As tailings was distributed, heavy metal elements extracted by the process of surface water and ground water move and disperse in to the hydrosphere. Waste dumps were distributed in and around the mine and water draining from those dumps be a potential source of contamination. Soils, thus, can be dispersed into downslope and downstream through wind and water by clastic movement. These materials may be deposited in another horizon if the water is withdrawn, or if the materials are precipitated as a result of differences in pH, or other conditions in deeper horizons. These were primarily associated with acid mine drainage. The characteristics and rate of release of acid mine drainage are influenced by various chemical and biological reactions at the source of acid generations. Prolonged extration of heavy metal elements has a detrimental effect on the agricultural land and residental area. Twenty soil samples were collected from the agricultural land in the area (0∼30 cm). Seventeen samples were also taken from the sediment in the stream running alongside the dumps. The dispersion patterns of heavy metal elements are as follows: The content of As ranged 2∼6 ppm in a horizon, 20∼125 ppm in B horizon with large amount of clay mineral is concentrated and the content of Cd ranged 1∼2 ppm in A horizon, 4∼22 ppm in B horizon. Like Cd, the content of As, Cu, Zn, Pb in B horizon is higher than that in A horizon (approximately 5∼100 times). When soil formation proceeds in stages, it is necessary to investicate the B horizon with the concentration of heavy metal and preventive measures will have to established.

기상 데이터를 이용한 데이터 마이닝 기반의 산불 예측 모델 (Data Mining based Forest Fires Prediction Models using Meteorological Data)

  • 산불은 경제, 자연환경, 건강과 같은 삶의 여러 측면에서 몇 가지 악영향을 주는 가장 핵심적인 환경위험 중의 하나이다. 산불의 조기발견, 빠른 예측, 신속한 대응은 산불 위험으로부터 재산과 생명을 구하는데 본질적인 역할을 할 수 있다. 산불의 빠른 발견을 위해 기상청에서 각 지역에 설치한 로컬 센서를 통해 획득한 기상 데이터를 이용하는 방법이 있다. 기상 조건(예: 온도, 바람)은 산불 발생에 영향을 미친다고 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 산불의 피해 면적을 예측하기 위해 데이터 마이닝(DM) 기법을 적용한다. 다섯 종류의 DM 모델, 예를 들어 Stochastic Gradient Descent(SGD), Support Vector Machines(SVM), Decision Tree(DT), Random Forests(RF), Deep Neural Network(DNN)과 네 가지 입력 특성 그룹(공간, 시간, 기상 데이터 이용)을 최근 5년간의 경기도 지역에서 수집한 실제 산불 발생 데이터에 적용하였다. 실험결과는 기상 데이터만을 이용한 DNN 모델이 가장 우수한 성능을 보였다. 제안한 모델은 빈도수가 높은 작은 규모의 산불 예측에 더 효과적이었다. 제안한 예측 모델을 통해 도출된 이러한 지식은 소방 자원 관리를 개선하는데 특히 유용하다.

Suwa호 방류수내 남조류 독소(microcystin)의 일변화 (Diel Changes of Cyanobacterial Toxins in Outflow Water of Lake Suwa)

  • 방류수내 남조류 세포의 밀포와 종조성 및 독소의 계절별, 일일 변화를 일본 중심에 위치하고 있는 Suwa호의 수문에서 1998년 5월부터 10월까지 조사하였다. Microcystis의 높은 세포밀도가 M. ichthyoblabe가 우점했던 7월과 M. viridis가 우점종으로 나타난 9월에 관찰되었다. Microcystis의 종조성과 총 세포밀도는 3종류의 microcystin의 정성${\cdot}$정량적인 변화와 관련이 있었다. M. ichthyoblabe가 우점했던 7월 동안에는 MC-RR과MC-LR만이 검출되었으나 M. aeruginosa의 개체수 증가와 함께 M. viridis가 우점종으로 나타난 8월부터 10월까지는 MC-YR을 포함한 3종류의 microcystin 모두 검출되었다. 방류수내 Microcystis의 세포밀포와 microcystin의 함량의 일 변화는 바람의 일 변화에 큰 영향을 받았다. 아침에 비해 오후에 바람이 강하게 부는 풍속주기의 조건에서 Microcystis의 세포밀도와 독소의 함량은 아침에 증가하고 오후에 감소하는 경향을 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과들은 수문이나 취수탑에서 방류시기의 조절은 부영양 호수에서 물을 취수하여 이용함에 있어 원수내 조류의 생물량을 저감할 수 있는 유효한 방법임을 제시한다.

EMERGY 분석법에 의한 득량만의 환경용량 산정 (The Estimation of Carrying Capacity in Deukryang Bay by EMERGY Analysis)

  • 득량만의 양식업에 대한 EMERGY분석결과 연안해역에 대한 영속성 에너지원의 EMERGY 유입은 $54.60\times10^{18}sej/yr$, 비영속성 에너지원인 화석연료의 유입은 $1.50\times10^{18}sej/yr$ 그리고 재화와 용역에 의한 유입은 $13.55\times10^{18}sej/yr$이고, 자연환경으로부터의 유입이 전체 에너지원의 $78\%$를 차지하고 있어 환경자원에 대한 의존도가 높은 1차 산업의 구조적 특징을 나타내고 있다. Net EMERGY yield ratio는 4.63으로 자원으로서의 가치가 높음을 나타내고, EMERGY investment ratio는 0.28로 주 경제로부터 유입된 에너지의 약 3.6 배에 해당하는 에너지를 자연환경으로부터 얻고 있음을 알 수 있다. 1994년 득량만의 환경용량은 영속성 에너지원에 근거하여 유입된 EMERGY량이 모두 현재의 EMERGY 생산비대로 생산이 된다면 득량만 전체에서는 어류; 1,140ton/yr, 갑각류; 110ton/yr, 패류; 1,553ton/yr, 해조류; 9,074ton/yr이며 1994년 생산량은 환경용량의 $80\%,\;92\%,\;80\%,\;84\%$를 생산하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고, 면적이 6,617ha(전체면적의 $17.67\%$)인 양식장만을 고려하여 유입된 EMERGY가 전부 패류의 생산에 이용된다면 패류양식장의 생산용량은 1,195ton/yr로 산출되었다.

텍스트마이닝 기법을 활용한 사회기반시설 기후변화 영향의 공간정보 표출 (Visualizing Spatial Information of Climate Change Impacts on Social Infrastructure using Text-Mining Method)

  • 본 연구는 텍스트마이닝 기법을 사용하여 사회기반시설에 대한 기후변화 영향 데이터들을 추출 및 분석하고, 이들을 행정구역 공간정보와 연계하여 분석 표출하고자 하였다. 우선 전력시설, 교통 도시기반시설, 유류 자원관리시설, 환경시설, 용수공급시설의 사회기반시설 중 다섯 가지(폭염, 한파, 호우, 대설, 강풍) 기후 요소로부터 영향을 많이 받은 시설을 파악하고, 각 시설별로 주요한 영향을 미치는 기후 요소를 분석하였다. 사회기반시설의 기후변화 영향은 시설의 위치에 영향을 받을 것으로 기대되어, 사회기반시설 기후변화 영향을 지역 중심으로 비교 분석 및 시각화 하였다. 연구 결과, 사회기반시설 중 교통 도시기반시설이 기후변화 영향을 가장 많이 받았으며, 사회기반시설에 대한 기후변화 영향은 주로 호우와 대설에 의해 발생하는 것으로 확인되었다. 사회기반시설 기후변화 영향의 공간정보를 분석 및 표출한 결과, 강원도와 서울 지역에 위치한 사회기반시설들이 기후변화 영향을 상대적으로 많이 받은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 텍스트마이닝을 통해 사회기반시설 기후변화 영향에 대한 비정형화된 정보를 추출 및 처리하여 분석하고, 이를 공간정보로 표출 시도하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

미래 강수량 자료만을 이용한 SWAT모형의 유출 예측 (Prediction of SWAT Stream Flow Using Only Future Precipitation Data)

  • Much attention has been needed in water resource management at the watershed due to drought and flooding issues caused by climate change in recent years. Increase in air temperature and changes in precipitation patterns due to climate change are affecting hydrologic cycles, such as evaporation and soil moisture. Thus, these phenomena result in increased runoff at the watershed. The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model has been used to evaluate rainfall-runoff at the watershed reflecting effects on hydrology of various weather data such as rainfall, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, wind speed. For bias-correction of RCP data, at least 30 year data are needed. However, for most gaging stations, only precipitation data have been recorded and very little stations have recorded other weather data. In addition, the RCP scenario does not provide all weather data for the SWAT model. In this study, two scenarios were made to evaluate whether it would be possible to estimate streamflow using measured precipitation and long-term average values of other weather data required for running the SWAT. With measured long-term weather data (scenario 1) and with long-term average values of weather data except precipitation (scenario 2), the estimate streamflow values were almost the same with NSE value of 0.99. Increase/decrease by ${\pm}2%$, ${\pm}4%$ in temperature and humidity data did not affect streamflow. Thus, the RCP precipitation data for Hongcheon watershed were bias-corrected with measured long-term precipitation data to evaluate effects of climate change on streamflow. The results revealed that estimated streamflow for 2055s was the greatest among data for 2025s, 2055s, and 2085s. However, estimated streamflow for 2085s decreased by 9%. In addition, streamflow for Spring would be expected to increase compared with current data and streamflow for Summer will be decreased with RCP data. The results obtained in this study indicate that the streamflow could be estimated with long-term precipitation data only and effects of climate change could be evaluated using precipitation data as shown in this study.

  • 신재생에너지 중 태양 및 풍력에너지는 자원의 제어가 쉽지 않아 불규칙적인 전력을 생산하여 계통연계 시 불안정하다. 하지만 연료전지 시스템의 경우, 제어가능한 자원인 수소에너지를 기반으로 일정한 주파수와 전력을 생산하며 계통연계 시 좀 더 안정적이다. 이와 같은 연료전지 시스템을 가정에서 사용하기 위해서는 전력변환장치의 안전성능이 중요하며 그 중 전자파적합성 성능 평가 방법이 중요하게 여겨진다. 본 연구에서는 연료전지 전력변환장치 성능평가 항목 중 전자파적합성의 국제규격과 국내 인증 기준 KGS AB934 PC53과 비교 분석하여 전원주파수 자계내성 시험의 도입 가능성을 검토하였다. 또한 실증 평가를 실시하여 성능 평가 보조 지표로 활용 가능한 정량적 데이터 확보에 대해 연구하였다.

rvH1N1 Neuraminidase Inhibitory Activities of Phenolics from Perilla frutescens (L.) and Their Contents in Cultivars and Germplasm

  • The influenza neuraminidase (NA, E.C. 3.2.1.18), an antiviral, has been the target of high pharmaceutical companies due to its essential role in viral replication cycle. Perilla frutescens (P. frutescens) is used in traditional Chinese medicine for various diseases, such as cold due to wind-cold, headache and cough. In this context, four major polyphenolic compounds including rosmarinic acid-3-O-glucoside (1), rosmarinic acid (2), luteolin (3), and apigenin (4) isolated from P. frutescens were evaluated for their inhibitory effect on recombinant virus H1N1 neuraminidase (rvH1N1 NA). Among the test compounds, rosmarinic acid and luteolin inhibited the rvH1N1 NA with an $IC_{50}$ of 46.7 and $8.4{\mu}M$, respectively. The inhibition kinetics analyzed by the Dixon plots indicated that rosmarinic acid and luteolin were noncompetitive inhibitors and that the inhibition constant, $K_I$, was established as 43.9 and $14.3{\mu}M$, respectively. In addition, 578 genetically diverse accessions and 39 cultivars of P. frutescens were analyzed using HPLC to characterize the diversity of polyphenolic composition and concentration. The individual and total compositions exhibited significant difference (P < 0.05), especially rosmarinic acid which was detected as the predominant metabolite in all accessions (58.8%) and cultivars (62.8%). Yeupsil and Sangback cultivars exhibited the highest rosmarinic acid ($3,393.5{\mu}g/g$) and luteolin ($383.3{\mu}g/g$) content respectively. YCPL177-2 with the high concentration ($889.8{\mu}g/g$) of luteolin may be used as a genetic resource for breeding elite cultivars.
