  • Semiconductor Wet Station has a very important place in semiconductor process. It is important that to discharge chemical with fit concentration and temperature using chemical supply system for clean process. The chemical supply system which is used currently is not only difficult to make a fit mixing rate of chemical which is need in clean' process, but also difficult to make fit concentration and temperature. Moreover, it has high stability but it is inefficient spatially because its volume is great. We propose In-line System to improve system with implement analysis of fluid and thermal transfer on chemical supply system and understand problem of system.

  • The transfer of predictive models using various chemometric techniques has been reported for FTNIR and scanning-grating based NIR instruments with respect relatively dry samples (<10% water). Some of the currently used transfer techniques include slope and bias correction (SBC), direct standardization (DS), piecewise direct standardization (PDS), orthogonal signal correction (OSC), finite impulse transform (FIR) and wavelet transform (WT) and application of neural networks. In a previous study (Greensill et at., 2001) on calibration transfer for wet samples (intact melons) across silicon diode array instrumentation, we reported on the performance of various techniques (SBC, DS, PDS, double window PDS (DWPDS), OSC, FIR, WT, a simple photometric response correction and wavelength interpolative method and a model updating method) in terms of RMSEP and Fearns criterion for comparison of RMSEP. In the current study, we compare these melon transfer results to a similar study employing pairs of spectrometers for non-invasive prediction of soluble solid content of peaches.

  • As the integrated devices become more and more sophistcated, the diameter of wafers increased up to 300 mm and strict level of cleaning is necessary to remove the particulates on the surface of wafer. Therefore we need a new type of wet-station which can reduce DI water and chemical in the cleaning process. Moreover, it is important to control the temperature and the concentration of chemical in the wet-station. In the conventional chemical supply system, it is difficult not only to fit the mixing rate of chemicals in cleaning process, but also to fit the quantity and temperature. Thus, we propose a new chemicals supply system, which overcomes above problems by the analysis of fluid and thermal transfer on chemical supply system.

  • The reflood test data from the rod bundle heat transfer (RBHT) test facility showed that the grids in the upper portion of the rod bundle could become wet well before the arrival of the quench front and that the sizes of liquid droplets downstream of a wet grid could not be predicted by the droplet breakup models for a dry grid. To investigate the water droplet generation from a wet grid spacer, a viscous linear temporal instability model of the water sheet issuing from the trailing edge of the grid with the surrounding steam up-flow is developed in this study. The Orr-Sommerfeld equations along with appropriate boundary conditions for the flow are solved using Chebyshev series expansions and the Tau-Galerkin projection method. The effects of several physical parameters on the water sheet oscillation are studied by determining the variation of the temporal growth rate with the wavenumber. It is found that a larger relative steam velocity to water velocity has a tendency to destabilize the water sheet with increased dynamic pressure. On the other hand, a larger ratio of steam boundary layer to the half water sheet thickness has a stabilizing effect on the water sheet oscillation. Droplet diameters downstream of the spacer grid predicted by the present model are found to compare reasonably well with the data obtained at the RBHT test facility as well as with other data recently reported in the literature.

  • An experimental study is performed to investigate the effect of air-side heat transfer and friction on characteristics of finned tube heat exchanger under dry surface and wet surface conditions (RH 50%, 70%). Air enthalpy calorimeter is used to obtain the performance evaluation and analysis of a fined tube heat exchanger. Four finned tube heat exchangers with slit fin or plain fin are tested. The number of tube rows are 2 and 3, and the tube diameter is 7 mm. Air-side heat transfer and friction are presented in terms of j factor and friction factor. At dry surface condition, j factor decreases with increasing Re and j factor of 3 row is lower than that of 2 row. Also, the friction factor of a slit fin is larger than that of a plain fin. At wet surface condition, the heat transfer effect is more significant in the case of the slit fin than the plain fin and 2 row than 3 row. The j factor and friction factor are affected by humidity, tube row and fin configuration.

  • Condensation heat transfer characteristics have been investigated experimentally when a water vapor is condensed on the outside of a horizontal copper tube in a condenser. This problem is of particular interest in the design of a LiBr-water absorption system. Hydrophilic surface modification was performed to increase the wettability on the copper tube. The optimum hydrophilic treatment condition using acethylene and nitrogen as reaction gas is also studied in detail. The results obtained indicate that the optimum reaction gas ratio of acethylene to nitrogen for hydrophilic surface modification was found to be 7 : 3 for the best condensation heat transfer. In the wide ranges of coolant inlet temperatures, and coolant mass flow rates, both the condensation heat transfer rate and the condensation heat transfer coefficient of a hydrophilic copper tube are increased substantially, compared with those of a conventional copper tube used in a condenser. It is also found that the condensation heat transfer enhancement by the hydrophilic surface modification still emains even after a hundred cycles of wet/dry processes.

  • In this study a packed tower was selected for the treatment apparatus of $NH_3$ gas produced in industry. Formerly latticework packing has been used in preventive facility of treatment of $NH_3$ gas. However recently metallic Ralu-Pack 250YC. structured packing is usually being used in petrochemical production plant. This study is for the application the packing to the $NH_3$ gas treatment in wet scrubbing process. In Air/water system hydraulic pressure drop dependent of specific liquid load and gas capacity factor was continuous and parallel from graph. The tower height can be determuined by the number of transfer unit and the height of transfer unit influenced on liquid distribution.

  • The simple and precise model for the estimation of rain acidity from the ambient air quality was developed using the theory of wet scrubber and the chemical equilibria of $SO_2, CO_2, and H_2O$ system. From the measured mixing height, and from the developed relationship between NTU (=number of transfer units) and the concentration of $SO_2$(aq) in rain drops, the HTU (= height equivalent to one transfer unit, i.e. mass transfer resistance) was estimated, and validated with the field-measured data. In Seoul, Korea where the effect of $SO_2$ on rainfall acidity is as high as 84% and the average mixing height is 1 km, the average HTU of $SO_2$ system was found to be 191.5m. The important parameters affecting HTU were identified as rainfall intensity and initial ambient concentration of $SO_2$, and their effects on the value of overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient were quantified.

  • The containment pressure and temperature transient analysis computer code CONTEMPT4/MOD5 is modified to incorporate the passive containment cooling models. The correlations are selected from the existing experimental heat transfer correlations to model the natural and mixed convection in annular space between the containment shell and the shield building. The evaporative heat transfer of the water film on the outer shell of the containment is modeled using the correlations derived from the analogy between the heat and mass transfer. The modified code is applied to the Ap600 containment transient analysis for the model verification and the results are compared to the results of GOTHIC calculation done by Westinghouse. Also, d series of parametric sensitivity studies of heat transfer correlations, water film ratio and delay time of the wet cooling on the containment peak pressure and temperature following LOCA are performed for the containment of 1000MWe passive plant, KP1000.

  • Internal mass transfer during osmotic dehydration of carrots in sugar solutions was examined as a function of concentration, temperature and immersion time of those solutions using moisture loss, sugar gain, molality and rate parameter. Influence of osmotic dehydration and blanching on browning reaction of vacuum dried carrots(3% MC: wet basis) was also evaluated. Increasing the concentration and temperature of sugar solutions increased moisture loss, sugar gain, molality and rate parameter. Water loss and sugar gain were rapid in first 4 min and then levelled off. The rate of sugar gain and molality changes on temperature was significant in lower concentration$(20^{\circ}\;Brix)$ compared to higher concentration$(60^{\circ}\;Brix)$. The changes of rate parameter were affected by concentration than by temperature of sugar solutions. Moisture loss during osmotic dehydration using a sugar solution $(60^{\circ}\;Brix,\;80^{\circ}C)$ with 20min immersion time was 55.7%. Effect of osmotic dehydration and blanching before vacuum dried to 3% MC(Wet basis) on browning reaction was significant. Minimum browning reaction during vacuum drying was carried out using pretreatments such as osmotic dehydration in sugar solution$(40^{\circ}\;Brix,\;80^{\circ}C)$ with 16 min immersion time(O.D.=0.09) and blanching with 12 min immersion time at $80^{\circ}C$(O.D.=0.31) compared to control(O.D.=1.59).
