Unpaved forest roads are common accessways in mountain areas being used for forestry purposes. The presence of forest roads produces large volumes of surface runoff and sediment yield due to changes in soil properties and hillslope profile. Rainfall simulation experiments were conducted to estimate the impacts of above-ground vegetation and antecedent soil water condition on hydrology and sediment processes. A total of 9 small plots($1m{\times}0.5m$) were installed to represent different road surface conditions: no-vegetation(3 plots), vegetated surface(3 plots), and cleared vegetation surface(3 plots). Experiments were carried out on dry, wet, and very wet soil moisture conditions for each plot. Above ground parts of vegetation on road surface influenced significantly on surface runoff. Runoff from no-vegetation roads(39.24L) was greater than that from vegetated(25.05L), while cleared-vegetation condition is similar to no-vegetation roads(39.72L). Runoff rate responded in a similar way to runoff volume. Soil erosion was also controlled by land cover, but the magnitude is little than that of surface runoff. Even though slight differences among antecedent soil moisture conditions were found on both runoff and soil erosion, runoff rate and soil losses were increased in very wet condition, followed by wet condition. The experiments suggest that vegetation cover on forest road surface seems most effective way to reduce surface runoff and soil erosion during storm periods.

The present study was investigated the effect of the driving condition on the performance of a louver fin and tube type heat exchanger under frosting condition. Heat transfer rate and pressure drop by frost were experimentally investigated. Effects of the wet blub temperature and the shape of a fin on heat transfer performances has been also investigated. The key parameters were fin type(louver and corrugate fin) and the wet blub temperature of air (0.5, 1.0, $1.5^{\circ}C$). The heat transfer performance of the louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was higher by 0.89% than the corrugate fin type. As the wet blub temperature of air were increased, the heat transfer rate, pressure drop and mass of frost of three test models(Type A, B, C) were increased. Especially, the maximum heat transfer rate and maximum pressure drop were shown for the louver fin and tube type heat exchanger. As a experimental result, the enhancement factor(EF) of louver fin and tube type heat exchanger was $0.2{\sim}0.4$ due to the high pressure drop.

Many vehicles have significantly under-inflated tires, primarily because drivers infrequently check their vehicles' tire pressure. When a tire is used while significantly under-inflated, its sidewalls flex more and the tire temperature increases, increasing stress and the risk of failure. In this study we evaluated tire safety and economical efficiency at various inflation pressure. For tire safety we performed FMVSS indoor durability test, measurement of rolling tire temperature, braking performance at dry/wet road condition, and rolling resistance test for economical efficiency. Results show that low pressure decreases tire durability of both speed-increase condition and load-increase condition. Heat temperature of rolling tire increases as pressure decreases and significantly under-inflated tires cause increase of vehicle's stopping distance at wet road condition. Also Under-inflation increases the rolling resistance of a tire and, correspondingly, decreases vehicle's fuel economy.
The purpose of this investigation is to estimate the strength with the variations of the notch shape and the adgesive condition at the fiber/matrix micro interface of E-glass/PP laminates. To promote the degradation of the adhesive condition at the fiber/matrix micro interface without matrix dissolution loss, low-, hot-wet and spiking tests were carried out. The absorpotion properties and the tensile properties were compared accrding to the fiber orientation and the content. The results show that, firstly, saturated moisture absorption was reached at 5cycles and their absorptions of RD-40, UD-42 and UD-50 are 0.68%, 0.63%, 0.60%, respectively. Secondly, all the specimens investigated were mostly degraded at 5cycle, whereas UD-50 having ellipse shaped notch the least decrement of strength.

The purpose of this study was to confirm paper strengthening properties with recently commercialized polyvinylamine. Because of its high cationic charge density, polyvinylamine has been investigated as a size retention and surface coating aids. In this study, we tried to confirm polyvinylamine as wet-end additives to improve dry and wet strength using LBKP and BCTMP pulps. As a result, we found improvement of dry and wet tensile properties of polyvinylamine with BCTMP were much better than LBKP condition. This phenomena could be explained that ionic bonding of cationic charge of polyvinylamine with abundant anionic substances of BCTMP was a very important factor to improve dry and wet strength of paper.

EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) pellicle which protects a mask from contamination became a critical issue for the application of EUV lithography to high-volume manufacturing. However, researches of EUV pellicle are still delayed due to no typical manufacturing methods for large-scale EUV pellicle. In this study, EUV pellicle membrane manufacturing method using not only KOH (potassium hydroxide) wet etching process but also a water bath was suggested for uniform etchant temperature distribution. KOH wet etching rates according to KOH solution concentration and solution temperature were confirmed and proper etch condition was selected. After KOH wet etching condition was set, $5cm{\times}5cm$ SiNx (silicon nitride) pellicle membrane with 80% EUV transmittance was successfully manufactured. Transmittance results showed the feasibility of wet etching method with water bath as a large-scale EUV pellicle manufacturing method.
The failure strengths and modes in carbon fiber reinforced polymeric composites, with two serial bolt-fastened composite joints, were investigated to evaluate the typical joint configurations of composite components. The parametric studies were performed experimentally at room temperature dry and elevated temperature wet, $82.2^{\circ}C$ on several different laminate configurations. Based on the experimental data presented, two basic load-displacements curves are observed. Each failure mode has the characteristic curve. It is showed that the bearing failure mode occurs in elevated temperature wet condition. It is analysed that the strength of bearing failure mode is not highly depending on the effective modulus of specimen. The failure strength at elevated temperature wet is decreased by the cause of interfacial deterioration between fiber and matrix with moisture absorption.
The corrosion behavior of metal covered with mortar under a wet-dry cyclic condition were investigated to apply for the measurement of corrosion rates of reinforcing steel in concrete structure. The carbon steel in mortar having t=3 mm cover thickness was exposed to the alternate condition of 6 h immersion in chloride containing solution and 18 h drying at $25^{\circ}C$ and 50%RH. The electrochemical phenomena of a carbon steel and mortar interface was explained by an equivalent circuit consisting of a solution resistance, a charge transfer resistance and a CPE(Constant Phase Element). The corrosion rates were monitored continuously during exposure using an AC impedance technique. Simultaneously, the current distribution over the working electrode during impedance measurement was analyzed from the phase shift, $\theta$, in an intermediate frequency. The result showed that corrosion rate monitoring using an AC impedance method is suitable under the given exposure conditions even during the drying period when the metal is covered with the wetted mortar.

Recycled aggregate by the recycling construction waste has a lot of advantage such as the developing the alternative resource and protecting of environment. However, recycled aggregate is used as the low quality grade, because the technic to remove old mortar from aggregate is low level. To use the recycled aggregate as high quality grade, it is important to develop the technic to produce the high quality recycled aggregate. To manufacture the high quality recycled aggregate, old mortar attached on the aggregates should remove efficiently. Therefore, in this study, we suggested the optimum condition to remove old mortar effectively using sulfuric acid and low speed wet rotary mill for high quality recycled fine aggregate. The results shows that the recycled aggregate satisfy on the standards of KS F 2573 in density, absorption and solid volume when, adequate condition of sulfuric mole ratio and aggregate ratio are make.
This work was conducted to find the operating characteristics of an efficient wet grinding system designed to obtain fine rice husk ash powder. Once the rice husk was combusted and the thermal energy was recovered from the furnace, the ash was fed and pulverized in the grinding system resulting a fine powder to be used as a supplementary adding material to the portland cement. Grinding time (15, 30, 45 min), impeller speed (250, 500, 750 rpm), and mixed ratio (6.7, 8.4, 11.l, 20.9) were three operating factors examined for the performance of a wet-type stirred ball mill grinding system. For the operating conditions employed, mean diameter of fine ash powder, specific energy input, and grinding energy efficiency were in the range of $2.83{\sim}9.58{\mu}m,\;0.5{\sim}6.73kWh/kg,\;and\;0.51{\sim}3.27m^2/Wh$, respectively. With the wet-type stirred ball mill grinding system used in this study, the grinding energy efficiency decreased with the increase in total grinding time, impeller speed, and mixed ratio. The difference in specific surface area of powder linearly increased with logarithm in total number of impeller revolution and the grinding energy efficiency linearly decreased. Grinding time of 45 min, impeller speed of 500 rpm, and mixed ratio of 6.7 were chosen as the best operating condition. At this condition, mean particle diameter of the fine ash, grinding energy efficiency, grinding throughput, and specific energy input were $2.84{\mu}m,\;2.28m^2/Wh,\;0.17kg/h$, and 2.03kWh/kg, respectively. Wet fine grinding which generates no fly dust causing pollution and makes continuous operation easy, is appeared to be a promising solution to the automatization of rice husk ash grinding process.
