In this paper, MOS-triggered silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR)-based electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuits for mobile application in 3.3 V I/O and SCR-based ESD protection circuits with floating N+/P+ diffusion regions for inverter and light-emitting diode driver applications in 20 V power clamps were designed. The breakdown voltage is induced by a grounded-gate NMOS (ggNMOS) in the MOS-triggered SCR-based ESD protection circuit for 3.3 V I/O. This lowers the breakdown voltage of the SCR by providing a trigger current to the P-well of the SCR. However, the operation resistance is increased compared to SCR, because additional diffusion regions increase the overall resistance of the protection circuit. To overcome this problem, the number of ggNMOS fingers was increased. The ESD protection circuit for the power clamp application at 20 V had a breakdown voltage of 23 V; the product of a high holding voltage by the N+/P+ floating diffusion region. The trigger voltage was improved by the partial insertion of a P-body to narrow the gap between the trigger and holding voltages. The ESD protection circuits for low- and high-voltage applications were designed using $0.18{\mu}m$ Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS technology, with $100{\mu}m$ width. Electrical characteristics and robustness are analyzed by a transmission line pulse measurement and an ESD pulse generator (ESS-6008).
Cosmological shocks form as an inevitable consequence of gravitational collapse during the large scale structure formation and cosmic-rays (CRs) are known to be accelerated at collisionless shocks via diffusive shock acceleration (DSA). We have calculated the evolution of CR modified shocks for a wide range of shock Mach numbers and shock speeds through numerical simulations of DSA in 1D quasi-parallel plane shocks. The simulations include thermal leakage injection of seed CRs, as well as pre-existing, upstream CR populations. Bohm-like diffusion is assumed. We show that CR modified shocks evolve to time-asymptotic states by the time injected particles are accelerated to moderately relativistic energies (p/mc $\ge$ 1), and that two shocks with the same Mach number, but with different shock speeds, evolve qualitatively similarly when the results are presented in terms of a characteristic diffusion length and diffusion time. We find that $10^{-4} - 10^{-3}$ of the particles passed through the shock are accelerated to form the CR population, and the injection rate is higher for shocks with higher Mach number. The CR acceleration efficiency increases with shock Mach number, but it asymptotes to ${\~}50\%$ in high Mach number shocks, regardless of the injection rate and upstream CR pressure. On the other hand, in moderate strength shocks ($M_s {\le} 5$), the pre-existing CRs increase the overall CR energy. We conclude that the CR acceleration at cosmological shocks is efficient enough to lead to significant nonlinear modifications to the shock structures.
An attempt was made to investigate the effect of brazing time on microstructure, microhardness, and corrosion of Zircaloy -4as well as the beryllium diffusion into its sheet. The sheets were coated with beryllium and brazed at $1020^{\circ}C$ for 20-40 minutes in $2{\times}10^{-5}$ torr vacuum atmosphere. 1. Microstructurally the brazed zone was largely divided into three regions: a region of continuous or partially formed of eutectic liquid films along grain boundaries; a region of precipitation in both grains and grain boundaries; a region of elongated wide structure of .alpha.-laths, which was not affected by beryllium. 2. Due to the precipitates, the beryllium-migrated region was hardened and the width of the hardened region increased with increasing brazing time. 3. Beryllium brazed Zircaloy -4 sheets showed a higher corrosion rate than those of as-received and heat-treated at a brazing temperature. 4. Diffusion coefficient of beryllium into Zircaloy -4 at $1020^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes was $7.67{\times}10^{-7}cm^2/sec.$ It seemed that Be penetrated Zircaloy -4 by forming eutectic liquid films along grain boundaries in the proximity of Be/Zr interface and it, thereafter, diffused into Zircaloy mainly by interstitial solid solution.
The magnetron sputtering was used to deposit Ni buffer layers on the polyimide surfaces to increase the adhesion strength between Cu thin films and polyimide as well as to prevent Cu diffusion into the polyimide. The Ni layer thickness was varied from 100 to $400{\AA}$. The adhesion strength increased rather significantly up to $200{\AA}$ of Ni thickness, however, there was no significant increase in strength over $200{\AA}$. The XPS analysis revealed that Ni thin films could increase the adhesion strength by reacting with the polar C=O bonds on the polyimide surface and also it could prevent Cu diffusion into the polyimide. The Cu/Ni/ polyimide multilayer thin films showed a high stability even at the high heating temperature of $200^{\circ}C$, however, at the temperature of $300^{\circ}C$, Cu diffused through the Ni buffer layer into polyimide, resulting in the drastic decrease in adhesion strength.

The Bass model is a cornerstone in diffusion theory which is used for forecasting demand of durables or new services. Three well-known estimation methods for parameters of the Bass model are Ordinary Least Square (OLS), Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE), Nonlinear Least Square (NLS). In this paper, a hybrid method incorporating OLS and NLS is presented and it's performance is analyzed and compared with OLS and NLS by using simulation data and empirical data. The results show that NLS has the best performance in terms of accuracy and our hybrid method has the best performance in terms of stability. Specifically, hybrid method has better performance with less data. This result means much in practical aspect because the avaliable data is little when a diffusion model is used for forecasting demand of a new product.

The measurements of monochromatic line-of-sight flame emission and light transmission in the same path having small spatial resolution were performed in an axisymmetric laminar propane $C_{3}H_{8}$ diffusion flame. The light wavelengthes of 632 nm, 800nm, 900nm were used. From these measurements, local point soot radiances (by Kirchhoff's law) and absorption coefficients were reconstructed by tomography. Thus local point soot temperatures and concentrations were obtained. The reconstructed soot temperatures and concentrations of local points have no differences between the case of visible range (632 nm) and the case of infrared range (800 nm and 900 nm). In these ranges, the scattering coefficient is much lower than the absorption coefficient. Soot mean temperature over the path also matches well with local soot temperature in outer region of the flame. Temperature measurement by thermocouple with different bead diameters $(222{\mu}m and 308{\mu}m)$ was carried in the same flame. Rapid insertion technique was used and radiation effect was considered. Radiation correction in the sooting region was carried out and the corrected result was in good agreement with the local soot temperature.

The three-dimensional new corrdinate system over a single hill double hills and complex terrain with a single hill and a rectangular obstacle was generated using a body-fitted coordinate system. Control of the coordinate line distribution in the field was executed by generalizing the elliptic generating system to Poisson equation. ▽2ξ=P. The new coordinate system was well fitted to the surface boundary of single hill and double hills. But in the case of complex terrain with hill and rectangular obstacle there was smoothing tendency around the rectangular obstacle. In order to show the validity of the body-fitted coordinate system the heat diffusion equation was transformed and the temperature distribution was calculated over the various terrain. The results showed the temperature distribution was very symmetrical and stable around hills and obstacle. As a result the couple of a body-fitted coordinate system and the heat diffusion equation were executed successfully. Wind field over complex terrain with hill and rectangular obstacle which represent urban area was simulated stably in body-fitted coordinate system. The qualitative result show the enhancement of wind speed at the upwind direction of a hill and a rectangular obstacle and the recirculation zone at the downwind direction.
Intra-cellular drug uptake in Xenopus laevis oocyte has been elucidated using localized MR spectroscopy (MRS) and PFG NMR techniques at a 600 $MH_z$(Bruker, 14.1 T) NMR spectrometer. The localized MRS has been done with a homemade probe, and shows the intra-cellular uptake of nicotinamide. The self-diffusion of the molecule in Xenopus oocyte was obtained by PFG NMR technique. The measured data are well fitted with a linear combination of two exponential functions, which shows that there are two types of drug molecules, intra-and extra-cellular molecules. Diffusion coefficients of intra- and extra-cellular drug molecules are 3.7 $\times$$10^{-11}$$\m^{2}/s$and 6.4 $\times$$10^{-10}$$\m^{2}/s$, respectively. In the weighting factors there is shown that about 5% of drug molecule is inside the cells. These techniques can be used for drug screening in molecule-, cell-, and tissue-based preclinical test.
The method of the Laplace transform has been used to obtain an analytical solution of the three-dimensional steady state advection diffusion equation for the airborne radionuclide release from any nuclear installation such as the power reactor in an area source. The present treatment takes into account the removal of the pollutants through the nuclear reaction. We assume that the pollutants are emitted as a constant rate from the area source. This physical consideration is achieved by assuming that the vertical eddy diffusivity coefficient should be a constant. The prevailing wind speed is a constant in 𝑥- direction and a linear function of the vertical height z. The present model calculations are compared with the other models and the available data of the atmospheric dispersion experiments that were carried out in the nuclear power plant of Angra dos Reis (Brazil). The results show that the present treatment performs well as the analytical dispersion model and there is a good agreement between the values computed by our model and the observed data.
The effect of grain size on the time-dependent piezoelectrice degradation of a poled PZT of MPB composition Pb0.988Sr0.012 (Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 with 2.4 mol% of Nb2O5 was studied, and the degradation mechanism was discussed. Changes in the internal bias field and the internal stress both responsible for the time-dependent degradation of poled PZT were examined by the polarization reveral technique, XRD and Vickers indentation, respectively. The piezoelectric degradation increased with increasing time and grain size, and the internal bias field due to space charge diffusion decreased with increasing grain size of poled PZT. The internal bias field, however, was almost insensitive to the degradation time regardless of the grain size. On the other hand, both the x-ray diffraction peak intensity ratio of (002) to (200) and the fracture behavior including the crack propagation support that the ferroelectric domain rearrangement of larger grain size showed rapid relaxation of the internal stress compared with smaller one, which is thought the origin of the larger piezoelectric degradation in the former. In conclusion, the contribution of space charge diffusion on the piezoelectric degradation of PZT is strongly dependent on both the grain size and the composition. Thus, the relaxation of internal stress due to the ferroelectric domain rearrangement as well as the amount and time-dependence of the internal bias field due to space charge diffusion should be considered simultaneously in the degradation mechanism of PZT.
