축하중을 받는 콘크리트 충전 원형 강관 N형 이음부의 핫스폿 응력 특성 (Hot Spot Stress of Concrete-filled Circular Hollow Section N-joints Subjected to Axial Loads)

  • 콘크리트 충전강관을 이용한 교량은 새로운 형식의 교량 형태이다. 강관을 이용한 교량을 적용하는데 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 이음부의 설계이다. 이 논문에서는 축하중을 받는 충전강관 N형 이음부에서 현재는 충전강관으로 브레이스는 강관으로 구성된 이음부의 특성을 범용 프로그램인 ABAQUS를 이용하여 유한요소해석을 통해 고찰하였다. 충전강관 이음부의 핫스폿 응력을 결정하는 기하학적 인자 중, 용접 각장길이, 현재의 직경, 브레이스의 두께에 따른 핫스폿 응력의 차이점을 비교하였다. 또한 충전강관 N형 이음부에서 사재의 각도와 수직재와 사재사이의 거리를 변수로 하여 유한요소해석을 수행하였으며, 현재에 충전된 콘크리트의 강도의 변화에 따른 이음부의 핫스폿 응력 특성을 살펴보았다.

Behaviour and strength of back-to-back built-up cold-formed steel unequal angle sections with intermediate stiffeners under axial compression

  • In cold-formed steel (CFS) structures, such as trusses, transmission towers and portal frames, the use of back-to-back built-up CFS unequal angle sections are becoming increasingly popular. In such an arrangement, intermediate welds or screw fasteners are required at discrete points along the length, preventing the angle sections from buckling independently. Limited research is available in the literature on axial strength of back-to-back built-up CFS unequal angle sections. The issue is addressed herein. This paper presents an experimental investigation reported by the authors on back-to-back built-up CFS unequal angle sections with intermediate stiffeners under axial compression. The load-axial shortening behaviour along with the deformed shapes at failure are reported. A nonlinear finite element (FE) model was then developed, which includes material non-linearity, geometric imperfections and modelling of intermediate fasteners. The FE model was validated against the experimental test results, which showed good agreement, both in terms of failure loads and deformed shapes at failure. The validated finite element model was then used for the purpose of a parametric study comprising 96 models to investigate the effect of longer to shorter leg ratios, stiffener provided in the longer leg, thicknesses and lengths on axial strength of back-to-back built-up CFS unequal angle sections. Four different thicknesses and seven different lengths (stub to slender columns) with three overall widths to the overall depth (B/D) ratios were investigated in the parametric study. Axial strengths obtained from the experimental tests and FE analyses were used to assess the performance of the current design guidelines as per the Direct Strength Method (DSM); obtained comparisons show that the current DSM is conservative by only 7% and 5% on average, while predicting the axial strengths of back-to-back built-up CFS unequal angle sections with and without the stiffener, respectively.

딥러닝 AI 솔루션을 활용한 전기자동차 헤어핀 권선 모터의 용접 품질향상에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on Quality Improvement of Electric Vehicle Hairpin Winding Motor Using Deep Learning AI Solution)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to actually implement and verify whether welding defects can be detected in real time by utilizing deep learning AI solutions in the welding process of electric vehicle hairpin winding motors. Methods: AI's function and technological elements using synthetic neural network were applied to existing electric vehicle hairpin winding motor laser welding process by making special hardware for detecting electric vehicle hairpin motor laser welding defect. Results: As a result of the test applied to the welding process of the electric vehicle hairpin winding motor, it was confirmed that defects in the welding part were detected in real time. The accuracy of detection of welds was achieved at 0.99 based on mAP@95, and the accuracy of detection of defective parts was 1.18 based on FB-Score 1.5, which fell short of the target, so it will be supplemented by introducing additional lighting and camera settings and enhancement techniques in the future. Conclusion: This study is significant in that it improves the welding quality of hairpin winding motors of electric vehicles by applying domestic artificial intelligence solutions to laser welding operations of hairpin winding motors of electric vehicles. Defects of a manufacturing line can be corrected immediately through automatic welding inspection after laser welding of an electric vehicle hairpin winding motor, thus reducing waste throughput caused by welding failure in the final stage, reducing input costs and increasing product production.

용접 후처리에 의한 필렛용접부의 피로강도 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Strength Improvement of the Fillet Welded Connections with respect to Post-Weld Treatment)

  • 본 연구에서는 교량이나 선박 등의 강구조물에서 널리 사용되고 있는 하중 전달형 십자형 필렛용접 시험편에 대해 피로시험을 실시하여, 용접 후처리 조건에 따른 피로강도를 분석하였다. 용접 후처리 방법으로는 Toe Grinding, TIG Dressing 및 Weld Profiling을 적용하였으며, 피로시험은 일정진폭 반복하중 하에서 실시하였다. 피로시험 결과 하중 전달형 십자형 필렛용접 시험편은 용접 후처리를 실시한 경우와 실시하지 않은 경우 모두에서 BS 피로설계기준의 F등급을 만족하는 결과를 나타내었다. 또한 용접 후처리 방법에 따른 피로강도의 향상 효과는 Toe Grinding, TIG Dressing, Weld Profiling 순서로 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

STS304L 및 STS316L 용접부의 응력 부식 균열 개선을 위한 저온 분사 코팅의 잔류 응력 감소 효과에 대한 연구 (A Study on Residual Stress Reduction Effect of Cold Spray Coating to Improve Stress Corrosion Cracking of Stainless Steel 304L and 316L Welds)

  • A Chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking (CISCC) of austenite stainless steel in dry cask storage system (DCSS) can occur with extending service time than originally designed. Cold spray coating (CSC) not only form a very dense microstructure that can protect from corrosive environments, but also can generate compressive stress on the surface. This characteristic of CSC process is very helpful to increase the resistance for CISCC. CSC with several powders, such as 304L, 316L and Ni can be optimized to form very dense coating layer. In addition, the impact energy generated as the CSC powder collides with the surface of base metal at a speed of Mach 2 or more can remove the residual tensile stress of welding area and serve the compress stress. CSC layers include no oxidation and no contamination with under 0.2% porosity, which is enough to protect from the penetration of corrosive chloride. Therefore, the CSC coating layer can be accompanied by a function that can be disconnected from the corrosive environment and an effect of improving the residual stress that causes CISCC, so the canister's CISCC resistance can be increased.

도시철도 콘크리트궤도 장대레일의 피로수명 평가 (The Fatigue Life Evaluation of Continuous Welded Rail on a Concrete Track in an Urban Railway)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시철도 콘크리트궤도 장대레일에 대한 실내피로시험을 수행하였고, 장대레일 잔존수명을 표현한 파괴확률 50% S-N 선도는 적은 실험데이터에 대한 가중치 확률 해석기법을 사용하여 도출하였다. 여기서 피로시험에 사용된 레일들이 누적통과톤수가 서로 다르기 때문에 누적통과톤수를 평균하여 반복횟수를 수정하였다. 또한, 레일표면요철 및 열차속도를 고려한 레일 저부 휨응력은 기존 연구결과 도출된 레일휨응력 예측식을 사용하여 콘크리트궤도 장대레일의 잔존수명을 평가하였다. 레일 피로수명 평가결과, 레일 피로수명이 기준치에 비해 약 2억톤이상 높았다. 또한, 자갈궤도에 비해 콘크리트궤도 레일의 피로수명이 약 3억톤이상 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 도시철도에서 레일교체기준을 자갈궤도와 콘크리트궤도로 구분할 필요가 있으며, 레일연마를 통한 레일관리가 이루어진다면 기준치가 아닌 목표치로 관리할 수 있을 것으로 판단되었다.

질소 보호 가스 첨가가 하이퍼 듀플렉스 스테인리스 밀봉용접재의 마모부식 저항성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of the nitrogen gas addition in the Ar shielding gas on the erosion-corrosion of tube-to-tube sheet welds of hyper duplex stainless steel)

  • Duplex stainless steels with nearly equal fraction of the ferrite(${\alpha}$) phase and austenite(${\gamma}$) phase have been increasingly used for various applications such as power plants, desalination facilities due to their high resistance to corrosion, good weldability, and excellent mechanical properties. Hyper duplex stainless steel (HDSS) is defined as the future duplex stainless steel with a pitting resistance equivalent (PRE=wt.%Cr+3.3(wt.%Mo+0.5wt.%W)+30wt.%N) of above 50. However, when HDSS is welded with gas tungsten arc (GTA), incorporation of nitrogen in the Ar shielding gas are very important because the volume fraction of ${\alpha}$-phase and ${\gamma}$-phase is changed and harmful secondary phases can be formed in the welded zone. In other words, the balance of corrosion resistance between two phases and reduction of $Cr_2N$ are the key points of this study. The primary results of this study are as follows. The addition of $N_2$ to the Ar shielding gas provides phase balance under weld-cooling conditions and increases the transformation temperature of the ${\alpha}$-phase to ${\gamma}$-phase, increasing the fraction of ${\gamma}$-phase as well as decreasing the precipitation of $Cr_2N$. In the anodic polarization test, the addition of nitrogen gas in the Ar shielding gas improved values of the electrochemical parameters, compared to the Pure Ar. Also, in the erosion-corrosion test, the HDSS welded with shielding gas containing $N_2$ decreased the weight loss, compared to HDSS welded with the Ar pure gas. This result showed the resistance of erosion-corrosion was increased due to increasing the fraction of ${\gamma}$-phase and the stability of passive film according to the addition $N_2$ gas to the Ar shielding gas. As a result, the addition of nitrogen gas to the shielding gas improved the resistance of erosion-corrosion.

  • 자동차 후진기어용 축재는 단조재로서 그 형상은 복잡하고 열처리 및 가공공정이 어려울 뿐 아니라, 제품수명 저하 등의 문제점으로 인한 경제적 손실이 크다. 따라서 종전의 일체형 단조품을 캠 형상 부분만을 기존의 단조품(SF 45)으로 사용하고, 나머지 축 부분은 일반 기계구조용 탄소강재(SM 45C)로 대체를 위한 이종마찰용접을 적용하였다. 마찰용접 변수인 회전수, 마찰압력, 업셋압력, 가열시간, 업셋시간 등의 상호작용에 의한 용접품질과의 상관관계를 고찰하였으며, 최적조건에서 마찰용접을 한 후 용접재(as-welded)와 고주파 열처리를 시행한 후열처리재(PWHT)의 접합부 특성을 비교 고찰하였다. 이는 종전의 일체형 단조품에 비해 단조비용 절감, 피로수명향상, 기계가공에 따른 공정수 및 재료절감 등의 경제적 파급효과가 클 것으로 기대된다.

스테인레스 316L강의 배관용접결함에 대한 유도초음파 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Weld Defects in Stainless Steel 316L Pipe Using Guided Wave)

  • 스테인레스강은 고온, 고압에서 부식에 효과적인 재료로써 액화수소, 가스 등을 저장하는 저장용기 및 고온의 유체들을 이송하는 배관재료로 널리 사용되고 있다. 일반적으로 스테인레스강의 용접은 TIG용접이 이용되어지고 있으며 용접후 용접부위에 발생하는 초기 용접결함 및 사용중 발생하는 열적 피로균열 등이 재료의 신뢰성을 저하하는 요인들로 지적되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 유도초음파를 이용하여 초기 용접결함에 대한 초음파 특성 규명을 위하여 스테인레스강의 용접부에 인공균열의 크기를 5 mm, 10 mm, 20 mm 길이로 가공후 유도초음파의 결함 길이 변화에 따른 특성을 평가하였다. 배관의 두께 등을 고려하여 L(0,1)모드와 L(0,2)모드를 이용하였으며 각각의 모드가 결함의 길이 변화에 따라 변화를 보였지만 L(0,2)모드가 L(0,1)모드보다 결함 길이에 더욱 민감하게 반응하였다. 본 연구에서는 L(0,1)모드와 L(0,2)모드의 진폭비를 구하여 결함과의 연관성을 평가한 결과 결함 길이와 선형적인 관계를 나타냄으로써 각 모드를 단독적으로 평가하는 것보다는 두 모드의 진폭비를 이용하여 결함을 평가하는 것이 더욱 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

티타늄과 금합금의 레이저 용접부의 인장강도 (TENSILE STRENGTH OF LASER WELDED-TITANIUM AND GOLD ALLOYS)

  • Lasers have given dentistry a new rapid, economic, and accurate technique for metal joining. Although laser welding has been recommended as an accurate technique, there are some limitations with this technique. For example, the two joining surfaces must have a tight-fitting contact, which may be difficult to achieve in some situations. The tensile samples used for this study were made from a custom-made pure titanium and type III gold alloy plates. 27 of 33 specimens were sectioned perpendicular to their long axis with a carborundum disk and water coolant. Six specimens remained and served as the control group. A group of 6 specimens was posed as butt joints in custom parallel positioning device with a feeler gauge at each of three gaps : 0.00, 0.25. and 0.50mm. All specimens were then machined to produce a uniform cross-sectional dimension, none of the specimens was subjected to any subsequent form of heat treatment. Scanning electron microscopy was performed on representative tested specimens at fractured surfaces in both the parent metal and the weld. Vickers hardness was measured at the center of the welds with a micropenetrometer using a force of 300gm for 15 seconds. Measurement was made at approximately $200{\mu}m\;and\;500{\mu}m$ deep from each surface. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Scheffe's test was calculated to detect differences between groups. The purpose of this study is to compare the strength and properties of the joint achieved at various butt Joint gaps by the laser welding of type III gold alloy and pure titanium tensile specimens in an argon atmosphere. The results of this study were as follows : 1. When indexing and welding pure titanium, there was no decrease in ultimate tensile strength as compared with the unsectioned alloys for indexing gaps of 0.00 to 0.50mm, although with increasing gap size may come increased distortion (p>0.05). 2. When indexing and welding type III gold alloy, there were significant differences in ultimate tensile strength among groups with weld gaps of 0.00mm, 0.25 and 0.50mm, and the control group. Group with butt contact without weld gap demonstrated a significant higher ultimate tensile strength than groups with weld gaps of 0.25 and 0.50mm (p<0.05). 3. When indexing and welding the different metal combination of type III gold alloy and pure titanium, there were significant differences in ultimate tensile strength between groups with weld gaps of 0.00, 0.25, and 0.50mm. However, the mechanical properties of the welded joint would become too brittle to be acceptable clinically (p<0.05). 4. The presence of large pores in the laser welded joint appears to be the most important factor in controlling the tensile strength of the weld in both pure titanium and type III gold alloy.
