금형온도가 사출성형품의 웰드라인에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of mold temperature on the weldline of injection-molded parts)

  • 본 연구에서는 사출 성형품의 품질에 영향을 주는 인자중 금형의 온도에 따라 성형품의 웰드라인의 표면 및 단면의 미시구조에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보았다. 또한, MmSH process 가 사출성형품에 미치는 영향 또한 알아보았다. 금형온도가 증가함에 따라 유동수지 선단간의 결합이 원활해져 웰드라인의 폭과 길이 모두 저하되는 것을 볼 수 있었으며, MnSH Process는 외관상 일반적인 사출조건에 비해 웰드라인, V-notch가 나타나지 않음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 무도장 Weldless 평가금형을 이용하여 사출성형 공정조건에 따라 다양한 형태의 변형이 생기는 성형품을 CAE를 통하여 ABS와 PC의 사출조건 냉각시간, 보압의 유/무 등에 따라서 발생되는 문제점과 변형량을 예측하고, 실제 사출성형 되어진 성형품과의 비교 분석을 통하여 사출성형 CAE 해석을 실제 사출성형 공정에서의 활용방안에 대하여 검토하였다.

  • The injection molding is used in more than 70% of total production of plastic products. Weld line in injection molded part is one of the defects in injection molding process. Weld line deteriorates not only appearance quality but also mechanical property. In this study, tensile strength about material such as ABS, PP, PA and PS was tested. as the results, the first result appears that weld's strength retention ratio's are 0.90, 0.84, 0.85, 0.76 and the second result apeears that weld depth decrease as processing temperature increased.

레이저 용접 테일러드 블랭크를 이용한 사이드 패널 성형 (Stamping of Side Panel Using the Laser Welded Tailored Blank)

  • In this study, side panels were developed using the laser-welded tailored blank (T.B.) of both the same thickness and different thickness. At first, the formability of the same thickness T.B. was investigated to compare with one of the non-welded panel with respect to weldline movement and strain distribution in blank during the stamping process. Based on these results, we determined the weld line positions and the die step for T.B. forming of the blanks composed of different thickness combination. Then we made some stamping tryouts with selected types of blanks to investigate the formability of T.B. of the different thickness. During the tryouts, wrinkles were found in the a-pillar lower region which is under the deformation mode of the shrink flange. In the b-pillar region, fractures were also found. These defects have been reduced and corrected by controlling the blank design, the die faces and process parameters.

  • 본 논문은 금형의 온도 변화가 사출성형품의 미시구조에 미치는 영향에 관해 연구했다. 웰드라인의 폭과 길이는 금형온도가 증가함에 따라 모두 감소되었다 그리고 금형의 온도에 따른 결정성수지인 PP(Polypropylene)와 비결정성수지인 PS(Polystyrene)의 치수안정성에 관해 연구했다. PS성형품은 금형온도가 높을수록 수축률이 줄어들고, 두께 편차가 적어졌고, PP성형품의 경우에는 결정의 생성으로 인해 상반된 경향이 나타났다. 캐비티의 충전성과 전사성은 금형온도가 높을수록 향상되었다.

  • Computer simulations and test trials were carried out to obtain the optimal stamping conditions of the die design of the laser welded automotive body. The stamping process including gravity deflection bead calibration binder wrap, forming and spring back was simulated and compared with the results obtained from test trials. The production variables were determined from a preliminary operation and they were investigated in the simulation and the test trials. The formability was tested under the various conditions, such as the initial position of blank, blank holding force, corner radius and the shape of drawbead. Sound products without fracture, wrinkling and excessive weldline movement were produced by applying results obtained this investigation.

  • The design and manufacture of injection molded polymeic parts with desired mechanical properties is a costly process dominated by empiricism, including the modification of actual tooling. This paper presents an interactive computer-based design system for injection molded plastic parts. This knowledge-based synthesis system provides a rational design strategy for injection molding and molded parts. It synergistically combines a rule-based expert system for hurestic knowledge with analytical process simulation programs. The theremomechanical properties of a molded part such as the effect of molecular orientation and weldline strength are predicted by the analysis programs; while the expert system interprets the analytical results from the process simulation, evaluates the design, and generates recommendations for optimal design alternatives. The heuristic knowledge of injection molding is formalized as production rules of the expert consultation system.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate quantitatively the effects of drawbead dimensions to the weld line movements for the deep drawing of the tailor welded blanks. Square blanks have been used and five different circular drawbeads were installed in experimental apparatus. The differences in the weld-line movements and the tendencies of the strain distributions in thickness were investigated by experimental and analytical methods. The results of the weldline movement show that the smaller the radius of drawbead installed, the larger the values of movements. Also it is shown for thickness strain in central and diagonal direction that the larger the dimension of drawbead, the larger the values of maximum thickness strain. The drawbead adds the additional restraining forces to the blank, hence the movement of weld line could be controlled by the adequate drawbead installation

  • For coping with various ship types easily, welding automation using CAD/CAM is demanded and and developed. In this paper we propose a dedicated CAM system which generates MACRO files to control robot manipulators. The paper contains CAD interface, virtual simulation, macro generation and job schedulling. At first, it defines and extracts weldline from CAD data, and generates proper MACRO programs. And it obtains optimum job schedules. This system removes the manual work, and consequently reduces the overall lead time. And it reduces costs and time for developing robot welding programs. This can be expanded to virtual factory simulation technology. Moreover, it is possible to apply this system for automation of Cutting and Painting

  • Computer simulations and test trials are carried out to get the optimal conditions about the stamping die design of the tailor laser welded automotive door inner. Firstly, the stamping process including gravity deflection, bead calibration, binder wrap, forming and spring back, are analyzed by the computer simulation. The results of simulation shows good correspondance with those of test trial under the same conditions. The variables of parametric study which will be investigated in the simulation and test trials, are determined form the results of the first run. The formability under the various conditions is evaluated, which are the initial postion of blank, blank holding force, corner radius and the shape of drawbead. Finally, well controled sound product without fracture, wrinkling and excessive weldline movement is obtained.
