발전 및 산업 설비 지원 용접 기술 정보 시스템 개발 (Development of Welding Information System for Power and Industrial Plant)

  • Power and industrial plant use various welding processes and many kinds of materials. Thus, it is a difficult task to get the proper welding information. In this research, a welding information system was developed to solve the difficulty. It consists of database system, knowledge base system and diagram analysis programs. Database system contains a large database and various searching method corresponding to the kind of information. A large part of welding information is managed by this database system. Knowledge based system is used for decision of proper welding process and analysis of weld defects. It has conversion program from text to knowledge, and inference mechanism. Finally, Diagram analysis programs carry out the calculation of ferrite content in the weld metal. By the calculation, a crack occurrence can be avoided. The developed system can be a useful tool for welding in the field of power and industrial plant.

  • 용접작업시 적정용접조건의 설정과 용접결과의 개선을 위한 용접변수의 최적화는 용접품질 및 생산성과 직결되는 중요한 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 복잡한 용접변수 및 용접결과의 상호관계를 관련이론식의 분석과 실험결과의 통계적 분식 및 경험적 지식의 분석을 통하여 체계적으로 조사하였고 조사된 결과는 경험식과 퍼지룰 및 인공지능적 지식의 형태로 표현되어 지식베이스로 구축되었다. 또한 퍼지 전문가시스템의 근접추론기법을 활용하여 지식베이스에 포함된 정보로부터 적절한 용접조건의 제안과 주어진 용접결과에 대한 사용자의 평가에 기초하여 보다 개선된 용접결과를 얻기 위한 용접변수의 최적화 과정을 실현하였다.

  • The significance of welding quality cannot be overstated in ensuring the structural integrity of steel constructions. However, welding operations are inherently intricate, influenced by numerous variables. This paper introduces a novel welding digital twin framework grounded in a dynamic knowledge base. This framework serves to visualize the welding procedures and forecast optimal welding parameters. Such insights facilitate informed decision-making by operators, thereby enhancing both the quality and efficiency of welding processes. Furthermore, the study employs the welding of H-beam steel as an example, wherein a digital twin welding model is established, based on which the overall welding quality can be improved.

  • Much experience and knowledge is needed in welding because there are many working parameters and quantitative description is difficult. Therefore, introduction of expert system based on such data base has been required. In this study, welding heat and shape of bead was controlled by fuzzy inference with the welding condition, position error and voltage and current error of robot. For this, torch trajectory of robot was generated by modeling the working data with CAD and then welding was carried out through down loading to robot. And working error was controlled by on-line communication.

  • Manufacturing technology platform for automotive and mobile industries has been constructed since 2009, for the platform technology project funded by ministry of knowledge and economics. Technology platform in laser welding has also been developed for automotive steel sheets with a strength up to 1GPa. Laser welding technology platform will provide welding characteristics for various laser sources, steel plates and welding conditions. This article shortly explains outline of laser welding technology platform and partially introduces the developed laser welding data base.

유전 알고리즘을 이용한 로봇 아크 용접작업 (Robot Arc Welding Task Sequencing using Genetic Algorithms)

  • This paper addresses a welding task sequencing for robot arc welding process planning. Although welding task sequencing is an essential step in the welding process planning, it has not been considered through a systematic approach, but it depends rather on empirical knowledge. Thus, an effective task sequencing for robot arc welding is required. Welding perations can be classified by the number of welding robots. Genetic algorithms are applied to tackle those welding task sequencing problems. A genetic algorithm for traveling salesman problem (TSP) is utilized to determine welding task sequencing for a MultiWeldline-SingleLayer problem. Further, welding task sequencing for multiWeldline-MultiLayer welding is investigated and appropriate genetic algorithms are introduced. A random key genetic algorithm is also proposed to solve multi-robot welding sequencing : MultiWeldline with multi robots. Finally, the genetic algorithm are implemented for the welding task sequencing of three dimensional weld plate assemblies. Robot welding operations conforming to the algorithms are simulated in graphic detail using a robot simulation software IGRIP.

  • Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic. Factors Influencing the Use of Control Measures to Reduce Occupational Exposure to Welding Fume in Australia: A Qualitative Study

  • Background: Exposure to welding fume is associated with adverse effects on worker health. The use of various control measures can reduce levels of exposure and the resulting health effects. However, little is known about the factors that may influence workers' use of control measures in the workplace and their perceived intervention needs. This study aimed to investigate workers' and other stakeholders' views on ways to improve the use of welding fume control measures in Australian workplaces. Methods: We conducted a series of online focus group discussions and individual interviews with participants who have some occupational involvement in welding, whether as workers, employers or industry representatives, union representatives, or regulators. A semi-structured question guide was used, and all discussions and interviews were recorded and transcribed for analysis. Results: Five focus group discussions and five individual interviews were conducted with a total of 21 participants. Three major themes emerged. The first addressed the current awareness of welding fume harms and concern about exposure; the second focussed on the current use of control measures, and barriers and facilitators to their use; and the last centred around intervention needs and the contents of a potential effective intervention. Conclusion: Improving the use of control measures to prevent exposure to welding fume requires knowledge around the barriers and facilitators of control, use, and the intervention needs of stakeholders. This study has provided such knowledge, which will facilitate the design and implementation of an intervention to reduce welding fume exposure and ultimately protect the health of workers.

  • In order to understand the basic knowledge on the model of heat source in hybrid welding, authors have conducted finite element analysis to calculate heat distribution using three heat source models of non-split type and split type(Volume, Volume-Volume, Volume-Surface). From the research result, we can confirm that Volume-Volume heat source of split type is suitable for the analysis of heat distribution.
