생활시간 조사를 이용한 가중치 부여방법: 인터넷 조사에 대한 적용 가능성 검토 (Using Time Use Data for Weighting Internet Survey Results)

  • 인터넷 조사에 가중치를 적용하여 그 일반성을 높이고자 하는 시도가 다양하게 이루어졌지만, 안정적으로 적용될 수 있는 방법이 아직까지 개발되지는 않았고 이것이 인터넷 조사의 활용을 제약하고 있다. 인터넷 조사를 위한 가중치 개발에는 준거조사 결과가 필요하지만, 센서스나 정부기관에서 제공되는 통계 중 일부 인구학적 속성을 제외하면 이러한 준거 조사 자료를 구하기 어렵다는 것이 중요 요인이다. 본 연구는 생활시간 조사를 이용해서 가중치를 개발하여 적용할 때, 인터넷 조사의 일반성을 높일 수 있는지를 검토해 보았다. 생활시간 조사는 정부기관에 의해 정기적으로 조사될 뿐만 아니라 센서스와는 달리 라이프스타일에 관련된 다양한 내용을 조사하기 때문이다. 2009년에 실시된 통계청 사회조사의 온라인 버전을 2004년 생활시간 조사결과를 이용해 가중치를 적용한 결과, 2009년에 동일한 설문지를 이용해 실시된 면접원방문 사회조사결과에 보다 일치하는 방향으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 생활시간 조사에서 나타난 취침 시간, 귀가시간, 인터넷 이용시간 등을 이용해서 가중치를 적용했을 때 단지 인구학적 속성만을 이용해서 가중치를 적용하는 경우보다, 온라인 조사결과와 오프라인 조사결과가 보다 근접해지는 경향이 있다는 것이다. 이러한 본 연구의 결과는 생활시간 조사자료가 인터넷 조사의 가중치 개발에 활용될 수 있다는 점을 보여준다.

  • In this study, the preliminary risk assessment for the underground storage tanks(UST) in Chunchon city was implemented using the geographical information system(GIS). The estimation variables, such as the installation year, storage capacity, the distances from streams, and from groundwater pumping wells, were selected to estimate the relative risk levels. The weighting factors were given to all the estimation variables. Cumulative scores were induced by the combination of all the scores of the corresponding variables using the buffering technique and the overlay analysis in ArcView. Using the these process, the relative risk level of each UST was estimated. Some sites in this study are simplified and reduced because the number of useable data are limited or too enormous. Thus the selection of the comprehensive estimation variables and the proper weighting values are required for the future study. The methodology in this study could be served not only for the preliminary risk assessment of UST but also for the selection of the proper location of new and old UST. And, it can be used for the effective management system of UST.

  • The continuous time linear quadratic problem (LQP) has been applied to the control of a 8-tray distillation column using the code VASP. The weighting matrices for the state variables and control variables were adjusted iteratively. The simulation results of the optimal control with 2 inputs and 2 outputs showed that the LQP method is very satisfactory for a rapid response and feedback control, and any desired response could be obtained by adjusting the weighting matrices Q under = and R under =. The feedback gain matrix K under = was also determined.

Imposed Weighting Factor Optimization Method for Torque Ripple Reduction of IM Fed by Indirect Matrix Converter with Predictive Control Algorithm

  • This paper proposes a weighting factor optimization method in predictive control algorithm for torque ripple reduction in an induction motor fed by an indirect matrix converter (IMC). In this paper, the torque ripple behavior is analyzed to validate the proposed weighting factor optimization method in the predictive control platform and shows the effectiveness of the system. Therefore, an optimization method is adopted here to calculate the optimum weighting factor corresponds to minimum torque ripple and is compared with the results of conventional weighting factor based predictive control algorithm. The predictive control algorithm selects the optimum switching state that minimizes a cost function based on optimized weighting factor to actuate the indirect matrix converter. The conventional and introduced weighting factor optimization method in predictive control algorithm are validated through simulations and experimental validation in DS1104 R&D controller platform and show the potential control, tracking of variables with their respective references and consequently reduces the torque ripple.

Weighting objectives strategy in multicriterion fuzzy mechanical and structural optimization

  • The weighting strategy has received a great attention and has been widely applied to multicriterion optimization. This gaper examines a global criterion method (GCM) with the weighting objectives strategy in fuzzy structural engineering problems. Fuzziness of those problems are in their design goals, constraints and variables. Most of the constraints are originated from analysis of engineering mechanics. The GCM is verified to be equivalent to fuzzy goal programming via a truss design. Continued and mixed discrete variable spaces are presented and examined using a fuzzy global criterion method (FGCM). In the design process a weighting parameter with fuzzy information is introduced into the design and decision making. We use a uniform machine-tool spindle as an illustrative example in continuous design space. Fuzzy multicriterion optimization in mixed design space is illustrated by the design of mechanical spring stacks. Results show that weighting strategy in FGCM can generate both the best compromise solution and a set of Pareto solutions in fuzzy environment. Weighting technique with fuzziness provides a more relaxed design domain, which increases the satisfying degree of a compromise solution or improves the final design.

  • The 4 sets of environmental variables dealing with meteorology, hydrology and physiography were analyzed to generate a spatial drought risk index of Phitsanulok province of Thailand. The analysis of K-mean and discriminant were applied to the set of the selective drought variables for grouping each of spatial variable set into 4 classes. The obtained 4 classes, based on group statistics, were thus recoded in the meaning of no risk, low risk, moderate risk, and high risk. The regression coefficient between recoded classes and a set of the selective environmental variables were then applied as spatial variable weighting on thematic dataset in GIS spatial analysis. The results showed that the weighting score of drought variable was highest in meteorological variable compared to other variables.

Revising K-Means Clustering under Semi-Supervision

  • In k-means clustering, we standardize variables before clustering and iterate two steps: units allocation by Euclidean sense and centroids updating. In applications to DB marketing where clusters are to be used as customer segments with similar consumption behaviors, we frequently acquire additional variables on the customers or the units through marketing campaigns a posteriori. Hence we need to modify the clusters originally formed after each campaign. The aim of this study is to propose a revision method of k-means clusters, incorporating added information by weighting clustering variables. We illustrate the proposed method in an empirical case.

인터넷 선거조사에서 성향가중모형 적용사례 (Applying Propensity Score Adjustment on Election Web Surveys)

  • 본 연구에서는 선거여론조사에서 좀더 많은 젊은 유권자를 접촉하기 위해서 인터넷조사의 적용 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 2007년 대선여론조사에서 수집한 인구통계학 변수와 공변량 변수를 이용하여 성향점수모형을 추정하였다. 인터넷조사에서 투표성향을 전화조사의 것과 같이 보정하기 위해서 추정한 성향점수모형을 사용하였다. 실제로 인터넷조사 데이터에 성향점수 가중치를 적용함으로써 전화조사의 추정치에 근접하게 됨을 보였다. 성향가중모형을 인터넷조사의 데이터에 적용하여 인터넷조사데이터만으로 전화조사와 유사한 추정치를 얻을 수 있음을 예시함으로써 선거여론조사에서 전화조사의 대안적인 조사방법으로 인터넷조사의 활용가능성을 실제 조사데이터로 입증하였다는 데 그 의의가 있다.

  • In this paper, we design an Fuzzy-Neural Networks(FNN) by means of divisions of fuzzy input space with multi-input variables. Fuzzy input space of Yamakawa's FNN is divided by each separated input variable, but that of the proposed FNN is divided by mutually combined input variables. The membership functions of the proposed FNN use both triangular and gaussian membership types. The parameters such as apexes of membership functions, learning rates, momentum coefficients, weighting value, and slope are adjusted using genetic algorithms. Also, an aggregate objective function(performance index) with weighting value is utilized to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. To evaluate the performance of the proposed model, we use the data of sewage treatment process.

  • The weighting increase varies with the condition of tannin-weight process and effects dyeability and physical properties of silk. The purpose of this study is to investigate the optimum condition of tannin-weighting process of silk and the effect of tannin-weighting process on dyeability and properties of silk. The methods of this study are first to examine the change according to the variables such as, weight increase of silk, temperature(30, 50, 70, 80, 9$0^{\circ}C$), time(30, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300min), tannin concentration(3, 5, 10, 20, 30g/l) in order to present the optimum condition, sencond to examine the change of the properties such as surface morphology, strength, elongation, mechanical values, dyeing condition, Basic and Acid dye absorption on silk which are tannin-weight processed in the optimum condition.
