50세 이상 폐경 후 여성의 골밀도와 연관성을 보이는 요인: 2008-2010년 국민건강영양조사 자료를 이용하여 (Factors Associated with Bone Mineral Density in Korean Postmenopausal Women Aged 50 Years and Above: Using 2008-2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with Bone Mineral Density (BMD) in Korean postmenopausal women. The data from 2008-2010 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) were used for data analysis. Subjects were 2,701 postmenopausal women aged ${\geq}50$ years. BMDs at whole body, total femur, femoral neck, and lumbar spine were measured by Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Dietary data from 24-hour dietary recall and a food frequency questionnaire containing 63 food items were used. The proportions of osteopenia at total femur, femoral neck, and lumbar spine were 37.4%, 54.5%, and 45.4%, respectively. The proportions of osteoporosis at total femur, femoral neck, and lumbar spine were 6.2%, 25.6%, and 34.3%, respectively. Age, anthropometric index including height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI), parathyroid hormone, and physical activity were related to BMD, but the relationships were site specific. Total femur BMD was explained by age, weight, parathyroid hormone and intakes of carbohydrate and fruits. Femoral neck BMD was related to age, weight, parathyroid hormone and intakes of riboflavin and fruits. Lumbar spine BMD was associated with age, weight, milk and dairy products, calcium intake, and exercise. These results indicated that adequate intakes of milk and dairy products, fruits, carbohydrate, calcium, riboflavin and exercise as well as weight maintenance might play an important role in maintaining optimum bone health in Korean postmenopausal women.

수중운동 프로그램이 건강한 중년여성의 체중, 근력과 유연성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Aquatic Exercise Program on Body Weight, Muscle Strength and Flexibility in Healthy Middle-aged Women)

  • Purpose: Aquatic exercise program is known to have positive effects for health maintenance and improvement in inpatients with arthritis. Aquatic exercise program could be a way to obtain wellness in middle-aged women. However, there have been few studies to evaluate physical function. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of aquatic exercise on physical health such as body weight, BMI, muscle strength (grip strength, pinch pressure), and flexibility in healthy middle-aged women. Method: The subjects of the study were fifty healthy middle-aged women (40-59 years) who had no experience with exercise. Twenty five subjects were assigned to the experimental group and 25 to the control group. An aquatic exercise program which consisted of approximately one hour of exercise in the water two days per week. for six weeks was given to the experimental group. Data were gathered from October 2000 to April 2001 using a questionnaire and physical function measure tool (pinch pressure, grip strength. weight. centimeter ruler). Data were analyzed with the SPSS win 10.0 using frequency, t-test, $x^2$ test, paired t-test. and ANCOVA. Result: The results of this study are as follows: There were significant differences in body weight, BMI, right, left grip strength and right and left pinch pressure between the two groups. Conclusion: From these results, it is concluded that the aquatic exercise program for healthy middle-aged women can be effective in increasing physical health in these women.

Comparison of organic acids supplementation on the growth performance, intestinal characteristics and morphology, and cecal microflora in broilers fed corn-soybean meal diet

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of three kinds of organic acid (OA) products on the growth performance, intestinal characteristics and morphology, and cecal microflora in broilers fed a corn-soybean meal meal diet. Methods: A total of 420 one-day-old male Cobb 500 broilers with an average initial body weight of 49.11±1.02 g were used in this 42-day experiment. Birds were randomly allotted to one of five treatments (7 replicates with 12 birds per replicate). Treatments consisted of negative control (NC), basal diet; positive control (PC), basal diet+100 mg/kg of Aviramycin; OA1, basal diet+500 mg/kg of OA product 1; OA2, basal diet+1,000 mg/kg of OA product 2; and OA3, basal diet+1,200 mg/kg of OA product 3. Results: The results indicated that OA product addition had no effect on growth performance parameters, such as body weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion ratio, from days 1 to 14, 15 to 28, and 0 to 42, or on the pH values of the intestine, intestinal weight, or intestinal weight to body weight ratio. The intestinal morphology in terms of villus height and crypt depth were affected by dietary supplementation of OA products, respectively. Furthermore, dietary addition of OAs had positive influences on the maintenance of the cecal microflora based on the results of 16S rRNA analysis. Conclusion: Dietary inclusion of three kinds of OA products all benefit broilers, but the mode of action may be different. This study provides a basis for the application of OA products used in the poultry industry.

과체중 대학생에서 저열량식이 또는 저열량식이와 운동병합에 의한 체중 감량 효과 (The effects of weight loss by a low-calorie diet and a low-calorie plus exercise in overweight undergraduate students)

  • Korean undergraduate students attempt to lose weight but often fail due to utilizing ineffective weight loss strategies. Some diet programs have succeeded, yet, they have not provided adequate skills for long-term weight maintenance. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of a low calorie diet and exercise with nutritional education on weight loss, serum lipid profiles, nutrient intakes, and dietary behavior modification in overweight and obese undergraduate students. The subjects in the low calorie diet group (LCD; n = 12) and the low calorie diet plus exercise group (LCDE; n = 13) had the same goal of losing 4 kg during a 12 week program. Nutrient intakes were assessed by the 24 hour recall method. Also, food habits and dietary behaviors were investigated by self-administered questionnaires before and after the weight control program and one month after completing the program. LCD and LCDE groups lowered body weight by 2 kg and 1 kg, respectively, although they decreased calorie intake by 355 and 287 kcal per day compared to intakes prior to the study. Body fat mass decreased in both the LCD and LCDE groups; however, the decrease was greater in the LCDE group. In addition, only the LCDE group increased muscle mass. The LCD group had a slightly better effect in reducing body weight, body fat, and waist circumference than the LCDE group. However, their decrease was reversed after the mid-study check in the LCD group; the reduction was better maintained and decreased more in the LCDE group. However, serum lipid profiles were already in borderline prior to the study; moreover, they were not modified after losing weight. The dietary behavior program helped students to develop better dietary habits. In conclusion, the combination of a low calorie diet and exercise is necessary in order to maintain longer weight loss by increasing muscle mass and decreasing body fat.

  • MSM의 결점인 접근 지역의 제한을 극복하기 위해 차세대관리 공정장치 유지보수용 천장이동 서보 매니퓰레이터(Bridge Transported Servo Manipulator, BTSM) 시제품을 개발하였다. 시제품은 부분적으로 와이어 구동방식을 채택한 단일 팔 형태의 힘반영 마스터-슬레이브 서보 매니퓰레이터로 중량 및 규모에 비해 취급하중이 기존 마스터-슬레이브 서보 매니퓰레이터 보다 크다. 와이어 구동 메카니즘은 한 축이 움직일 때 다른 축도 영향을 받을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이의 현상을 극복하기 위해 와이어 길이 변화에 대한 관계식을 유도하였으며, 실험을 통해서 검증하였다.

화력발전소 보일러 수퍼히트부 안전발판 개발 연구 (A Development of Platforms for Boiler of Thermal Power Plant)

  • The catastrophic collapse of the in-boiler scaffolding system in the two thermal power plants occurred in March and April 2012. After site investigation and document review, it was found that the specialized scaffolding system was imported for overhaul & maintenance and that the system did not get the safety certification at the import. In this regard, this study developed & proposed an access platform and a support for the vertical tube section of the super heat as well as a variable-length platform for the horizontal tube section, satisfying the domestic certification standards. The access platform was developed to be easy to handle by the worker with a weight of about 0.069 kN, which could reduce the risk of falling accidents and workers' musculoskeletal diseases. For the variable-length platform, it is possible to cope with various changes in length between the horizontal tubes associated with the increase of rigidity in the overlapping and the elimination of the protrusion.

쉴드 TBM 터널의 구조물 성능 평가 기준 개발 (Development of performance assessment criterion for structures of shield TBM tunnel)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에 활발히 적용되기 시작한 쉴드 TBM 터널의 합리적인 유지관리를 위한 성능평가 기준을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 국내 외 성능평가 기준을 분석하였고, 국내 시공된 쉴드 TBM 터널에 대한 현장조사 및 정밀안전진단 보고서 분석을 통한 변상사례를 조사하여 성능평가 항목을 균열, 누수, 파손, 박리, 층분리 및 박락, 백태, 품질상태, 철근노출, 탄산화, 단차, 볼트상태, 배수상태, 지반상태, 접속부상태, 공동구 상태로 선정하였다. 또한 다중의사결정기법인 AHP 기법을 활용하여 선정된 성능평가에 대한 합리적인 가중치를 산정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 핫셀에서의 원격 운전 및 유지보수 작업을 위해 개발한 천정이동 서보 조작기시스템에 대해 소개한다. 조작기 시스템은 텔레스코픽형 이송장치, 슬레이브, 마스터, 그리고 제어시스템으로 구성되어 있다. 개발한 시스템에 대해 위치 추종, 하중 취급, 신뢰성, 및 조작성에 대한 테스트를 수행하였으며 이에 대한 테스트 결과를 제시한다. 이러한 테스트 결과를 바탕으로 개선된 시스템 이 설계되었으며 이 개선된 시스템 이 차세대 공정의 실증에 적용될 예정이다.

Modal parameters identification of heavy-haul railway RC bridges - experience acquired

  • Traditionally, it is not easy to carry out tests to identify modal parameters from existing railway bridges because of the testing conditions and complicated nature of civil structures. A six year (2007-2012) research program was conducted to monitor a group of 25 railway bridges. One of the tasks was to devise guidelines for identifying their modal parameters. This paper presents the experience acquired from such identification. The modal analysis of four representative bridges of this group is reported, which include B5, B15, B20 and B58A, crossing the Caraj$\acute{a}$s railway in northern Brazil using three different excitations sources: drop weight, free vibration after train passage, and ambient conditions. To extract the dynamic parameters from the recorded data, Stochastic Subspace Identification and Frequency Domain Decomposition methods were used. Finite-element models were constructed to facilitate the dynamic measurements. The results show good agreement between the measured and computed natural frequencies and mode shapes. The findings provide some guidelines on methods of excitation, record length of time, methods of modal analysis including the use of projected channel and harmonic detection, helping researchers and maintenance teams obtain good dynamic characteristics from measurement data.

  • 사회가 발전함에 따라 시민들은 콘크리트 구조물의 해체에 있어 안전하고, 경제적이며, 환경친화적인 공법의 적용을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 해체공법의 문제점을 검토하여 환경오염의 주원인인 냉각수와 슬러지를 최소화 할 수 있는 공법을 개발하였으며, 개발된 공법의 타당성은 유한요소해석을 통하여 확인하였다. 천공개수, 깊이, 크기, 그리고 자중을 변수로 선정하여 다양한 경우에 대한 비교 분석을 수행하였으며, 자중에 따른 최적의 천공개수, 천공깊이, 천공크기를 제시하였다.
