Uniform is the dress of distinctive design or fashion worn by members of a particular group or serving as a means of identification. The postman's uniform of Ministry of Communication should be distinctive or characteristic clothing to provide high functionality and symbolization of job characteristics, cost effectiveness and esthetic. In order to design the postman's new uniform available in 2000, there has been a satisfaction survey to 1,116 postmen. A thorough analysis of survey and informal and face-to-face discussion with postmen give the direction of design concept. One of the most important things in the design concept is to make the uniform high quality & refinement. The style is a refined jumper suit in consideration of form stability, wearing satisfaction, convenience in activity. The basic colors selected are navy and medium gray. The colors of jumper are MOC red ; C.I color Green : a representative color of youth, white : a symbolic color of bright future. All three colors are plaid on a basic nary color. In the selection of the textile, synthetic fiber (Polyester 65%, rayon 35%) equipped with UV cutting as well as water resistance etc. was recommended. In the uniform design process, the effective communication with user (postman) is critical to find the requirements and needs of uniform user (postman). Also. the uniform designer should reflect the above four key factors in design development. Therefore, the uniform should provide the user with high job performance and job pride in wearing the uniform.

The purpose of this study is to suggest hospital clothing design which reflects ubiquitous info-communications technology as changing hospital environment in the information-oriented era of the 21st century. The methods of this study are documentary research of previous studies, observation research and deep interviews. Seoul national university hospital is selected as a target of observation for this study. Doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and patients who are the representative jobs in the hospital are interviewed from on July, 13, 2006 to on August, 1, 2006. According to observation research, the computers, OCR, and PACS are applied from registration to dosage through all courses of diagnosis. However, the most inconvenient problems to patients are the location of medical offices and confusion of reservation. Also, the needs and inconveniences of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and patients are almost solved by using RFID technology as a result of deep interviews. They prefer wearing devices as an accessory to wearing devices as a clothing directly. In conclusion, suggested UFC design for hospital clothing with info-communications technology promotes efficiency, accuracy, convenience of work to medical personnel in changing hospital environment as the flow of the information-oriented era of the 21st century.

This study examines the inconveniences and problems of established safety-equipment by investigating the actual conditions for elderly people who use welfare services such as wheel chairs provided by care institutions. Suggestions will be made on how to improve the function and convenience of use to suit the needs of the elderly and how to create beautiful wheel chair safety-wear. Medical treatment helpers for the elderly were surveyed about the wearing conditions of wheel chair safety equipment. The present wheel chair safety equipment was shown to be aesthetically unpleasant; in addition, feelings of restriction and unpleasantness were noted (concerning the wearing of the equipment). In addition, there was no feeling of fixed stability. The wheel chair safety-wear that has been designed reflects the inconveniences and problems of current wheel chair safety equipment in material, design, and patterns along with the results of those surveys. Both objective and subjective tests compared the manufactured safety-wear with current equipment. According to the results, the new safety-wear is superior than existing ones.

This study aims to develop the functional pants for the hospitalized bed-ridden patient. The procedure of this study consisted of three parts. First, the interview survey of nursing care givers was conducted to inquire into the conditions of bed-ridden patients' clothing. Second, the bed-ridden patients' pants design and sample making were accompanied. Then, the wearing tests and design development were completed. The results are as follows; The conditions of bed-ridden patients' clothing were the convenience of clothing change, the partial opening for diaper change and medical treatment and the ventilation for bedsore prevention. The design development of the bed ridden patients' pants was accomplished which had the side seams with two way opening zippers, the wraparound pattern of abdomen and the opening under crotch applied the advantage of korean traditional underwear sokkot. The samples' wearing tests were performed three times and those subjects were the hospitalized bed-ridden patients. Consequently, we suggested the appropriate hospitalized patients' pants for bed-ridden patient.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the reality of clothes-wearing among physically disabled women and propose trouser designs. As a research method, an in-depth interview method was adopted for 10 women in their 30s and 50s with lower limb disabilities who could wear trousers and use wheelchairs. The study results identified the following factors that should be considered in the design of trousers. First, a semi-casual design that could hide physical deficiencies, was not different from ready-made clothes and enabled various looks was desirable. Second, the proper material would have little transformation in the form, have remarkable durability and laundry fastness, two-directional stretch, and hide deficiencies with a sense of thickness and density. Third, an "L-frame" pattern in a sitting position, and a straight fit were desirable. Finally, pockets can impose pressure according to their form, size, position, and sewing method, highlighted the need for a sewing approach to minimize seams in the fabric. For adjustment, an elastic band would be a good choice in terms of type, length, position, and material as it could satisfy both the convenience of putting on and taking off and comfort in wearing at the same time. Decorative design details can also impose pressure according to a sense of thickness, which means that they should be avoided in parts that are close to the body or can impose pressure according to posture.

Recently the use of personal mobility devices is rapidly increasing, and the businesses related to personal mobility devices are quickly growing as well. Although the use of personal mobility devices provides convenience for short distance movements, many problems occur due to the lack of safety devices and the absence of associated road traffic laws. The number of accidents caused by using personal mobility devices continues increasing every year, and the injuries or deaths are seriously happening with those accidents. When using personal mobility devices, there are basic safety precautions such as wearing a helmet, prohibiting boarding with more than two people, prohibiting boarding with more than 100kg, prohibiting using after drinking alcohol, and so on. However, it is exposed to traffic accidents because there is no way to check before using the system. Therefore, to ensure the user's safety in using the electric kickboard among personal mobility devices, this paper proposes a system that can check the user's safety state before using the electric kickboard. It is possible to safely use personal mobility devices and prevent accidents by proposing a system structure of the electric kickboard that can be used after checking for the use of more than two people, overweight, wearing a helmet, and drinking alcohol.

In this study, in-depth interviews with Hanbok experts on the development direction of the Hanbok culture industry were performed to listen to professional and future-oriented opinions for the development of Hanbok culture and the Hanbok industry. Interviews were conducted with 12 experts to identify the perception of the Hanbok culture industry and to confirm the possibility of sustainable development of Hanbok as a global culture. First, the results of this study should be preceded by the establishment of concepts such as traditional Hanbok, daily Hanbok, fusion Hanbok, and new Hanbok, and design, education, and government support suitable for each field are required. Second, the responsible craftsmanship of the Hanbok industry, the development of Hanbok design with the aesthetics and convenience of Hanbok designers, multi-dimensional research with high academic use, and systematic support for various Hanbok-related programs and events by the government are needed. Third, the government should promote and actively wear Hanbok through various media to revitalize the Hanbok culture, such as establishing a Hanbok wearing day, reviving etiquette education in school, and providing local-based Hanbok wearing experience education. Fourth, in order to cultivate professional manpower, detailed Hanbok education by field is necessary, and specialized education tools, such as distribution, VMD, and stylist are proposed.

Purpose: This paper was to develop an elbow restraint which can reduce the side effects of the wrist restraint which was frequently used in an intensive care unit and to evaluate its application. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was used. Subjects were 38 patients (elbow restraint group: 18, wrist restraint group: 20) and 20 nurses who used both restraints in medical intensive care unit at G National University Hospital. Restraints were applied to subjects for 72 hours. Data were collected from December 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. The data collected were analyzed using $x^2-test$, Fisher's exact test, t-test, and ANCOVA using SPSS 12.0 program. Results: Elbow restraint significantly decreased range of wrist motion reduction, swelling and significantly increased the convenience of wearing restraint compared to wrist restraint. Conclusion: The new elbow restraint are more efficient than the old wrist restraint, which have been used in an intensive care unit, in terms of convenience of restraint application, range of joint motion and prevention of swelling.

최근 들어 잘못된 보행 습관과 생활환경으로 인한 족부 질환자들이 늘어나고 있다. 신발디자인 특성에 따른 경증 족부질환 환자가 정형 신발 구매시 만족도와 구매 의도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴본다. 신발 디자인 특성은 기능성, 편의성, 심미성으로 구성하였다. 심미성이 정형 신발 구매 시 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기능성과 편의성의 요소가 영향이 적더라도 심미성이 높다면 구매의도와 만족도에 영향을 준다. 경증 족부질환별 사회활동 참여 빈도와 착용 목적에 따라 디자인 또한 다양한 요소들이 요구된다. 연구 결과를 통해 알아본 정형 신발디자인 특성 요인을 더욱 보완하여 경증 족부질환 환자들이 일상생활에서 착용할 수 있는 유용한 정형 신발 디자인 개발과 현실적인 활용과 만족으로 이어지길 기대한다.

This study is aimed at presenting the information on tailor-made clothes products which could positively relieve the psychological anxiety of the aged and enhance their living independence, and also at the development of clothes designs which could help them enjoy their healthy and activities. Based on the survey, the study conducted the research and analysis on the wearing practices, problems, and improvements for the clothes for the aged and found out their favorite clothes designs and colors. Based on the findings, the clothes models were recruited that reflect the physical features of silver-generation women and assist them with their joint protection. Moreover, the emphases were placed on the convenience of dressing or undressing, and the current fashion of development of clothes. The number of the clothes models developed were 11 for one pants suit, two skirt suits, one knit wear, one training wear, and one bolero.
