In this literature, fault detection and classification of faulty induction motors are carried out through Z-index and frequency analysis. Above frequency analysis refer Fourier transformation and Wavelet transformation. Z-index is defined as the similar form of energy function, also the faulty and healthy conditions are classified through Z-index. For the detection and classification feature extraction for the fault detection of an induction motor is carried out using the information from stator current. Fourier and Wavelet transforms are applied to detect the characteristics under the healthy and various faulty conditions. We can obtain feature vectors from two transformations, and the results illustrate that the feature vectors are complementary each other.

This paper addresses the issue of estimating regression function with errors in variables using wavelets. We adopt a nonparametric approach in assuming that the regression function has no specific parametric form, To account for errors in covariates deconvolution is involved in the construction of a new class of linear wavelet estimators. using the wavelet characterization of Besov spaces the question of regression estimation with Besov constraint can be reduced to a problem in a space of sequences. Rates of convergence are studied over Besov function classes $B_{spq}$ using $L_2$ error measure. It is shown that the rates of convergence depend on the smoothness s of the regression function and the decay rate of characteristic function of the contaminating error.

The early setting time of concrete is an important factor determining the slip up velocity of the slip-form system. Accordingly, need is for a technique evaluating the early setting time in order to secure the safety of the slip-form system and the construction quality of concrete. This paper intends to estimate the early setting time by evaluating the setting degree of concrete using surface wave velocity so as to determine the slip up time of the slip-form system. Penetration resistance test and compressive strength test are performed first to clarify the relationship between the early setting time of concrete and the compressive strength. Then, compressive strength test and ultrasonic wave test are conducted to examine the relation between the compressive strength and the surface wave velocity. Continuous wavelet transform is adopted to measure the surface wave velocity. Numerical analysis is carried out to demonstrate the appropriateness of the application of continuous wavelet transform. Based on these results, the propagation velocity of the surface wave required for the slip up of slip-form system is suggested. Finally, a reduced model test of the slip-form system is conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed surface wave velocity for the determination of th slip up velocity.
Over the last two decades Wavelet Transformation (WT) method has been widely utilized for the damage identification of structures. The main objective of this paper is to discuss and present some of common shortcomings and limitations of mathematical software, as well as other precautionary measures that need to be considered when using them for wavelet analysis applications. Due to popular usage of MATLABMATLAB(R) comparing to other mathematical tools among researchers for data processing of structural responses through WT analysis, this software was chosen for specific study. To the best of the authors' knowledge, these limitations and observations have not been previously identified or discussed in the literature. In this work, a square plate with a severe damage, in form of a crack, parallel to the left edge of the plate is selected for a pilot study. The steady state harmonic response is used for measuring the deflection shape across the line parallel to one edge and perpendicular to the damage. Several criteria and cases such as the smallest size damage that can be detected, correlation between the crack width and the number of sampling points, and the influence of the damage thickness on the accuracy of the result are investigated.

A binary decision model which is used to denoising has demerits to measure the precise ratio of signal to noise because of only a binary classification. To supplement these demerits, complex statistical model and undecimated wavelet transform are generally exploited. In this paper, we propose a noise reduction method using a multi-level decision model for measuring the ratio of noise in noisy image. The propose method achieves good denoising performance with orthogonal wavelet transform because the ratio of signal to noise can be calculated to multi-valued form. In simulation results, the proposed denoising method outperforms 0.1dB in the PSNR sense than the state of art denoising algorithms using orthogonal wavelet transform.
In this paper, we present an image compression algorithm that is capable of significantly reducing the vast mount of information contained in multispectral images. The developed algorithm exploits the spectral and spatial correlations found in multispectral images. The scheme encodes the difference between images after contrast/brightness equalization to remove the spectral redundancy, and utilizes a two-dimensional wavelet trans-form to remove the spatial redundancy. The transformed images are than encoded by hilbert-curve scanning and run-length-encoding, followed by huffman coding. We also present the performance of the proposed algorithm with KITSAT-1 image as well as the LANDSAT MultiSpectral Scanner data. The loss of information is evaluated by peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and classification capability.

It is difficult to analyse images because of multiplicative characteristics of speckle noises in SAR images. In this paper. wavelet transform is proposed for restoring SAR images corrupted by speckle noise. The multiplicative noise is transformed into a form of additive noise and then the additive noise is denoised using wavelet thresholding selections such as VisuShrink, SureShrink, BayesShrink and modified BayesShrink. Experimental results on several test images show that the modified BayesShrink yields significantly superior image quality and better Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR).

It is need to develop and apply a human pulse diagnosis system providing a quantitative and automatic analysis in the the oriental medicine. In order to analyze quantitatively the characteristic of pulsation, each of points had to be recognized accurately notifying the existence and the position of feature point in the wave form. And getting the period of human pulse. Thus, in this paper, it is proposed the preprocessing method of human pulse and the detection method of period by Wavelet Transformation. The human pulse is seprated from each band through Wavelet Transformation and feature points can be recognized through over the fact, and then the parameter of proposed Mac-Jin parameter is measured. Commonly, Human pulse signal has often various noises which are baseline drift, high frequency noise and so on. So it is significant to remove that noises. Thus, in this paper, the one period of human pulse is deciede and the feature points are detected after doing the preprocessing by wavelet transformation. As a result, it could be confirmed that this method is effective as a real program for the auto-diagnosis of human pulse.

As a society has progressed rapidly toward a highly advanced digital information age, a multimedia communication service for acquisition, transmission and storage of image data as well as voice has being commercialized externally and internally. However, in the process of digitalization or transmission of data, noise is generated by several causes, and researches for eliminating those noises have been continued until now. There were the existing FFT(fast fourier transform) and STFT(short time fourier transform) for removing noise but it's impossible to know information about time and time-frequency localization capabilities has conflictive relationship. Therefore, for overcoming these limits, wavelet transform which is presented as a new technique of signal processing field is being applied in many fields recently. Because it has time-frequency localization capabilities it's Possible for multiresolution analysis as well as easy to analyze various signal. And when two wavelet base were designed to form Hilbert transform pair, wavelet pair provide superior performance than the existing DWT(discrete wavelet transform) in data characteristic detection. Therefore in this parer, we removed impulse noise by using adaptive-length median filter and two dyadic wavelet base which is designed by truncated coefficient vector.

Industrial Control System(ICS), which controls facilities at major industrial sites, is increasingly connected to other systems through networks. With this integration and the development of intelligent attacks that can lead to a single external intrusion as a whole system paralysis, the risk and impact of security on industrial control systems are increasing. As a result, research on how to protect and detect cyber attacks is actively underway, and deep learning models in the form of unsupervised learning have achieved a lot, and many abnormal detection technologies based on deep learning are being introduced. In this study, we emphasize the application of preprocessing methodologies to enhance the anomaly detection performance of deep learning models on time series data. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of a Wavelet Transform (WT)-based noise reduction methodology as a preprocessing technique for deep learning-based anomaly detection. Particularly, by incorporating sensor characteristics through clustering, the differential application of the Dual-Tree Complex Wavelet Transform proves to be the most effective approach in improving the detection performance of cyber attacks.
