소유역 오염예측모형 AGNPS 의 특성과 실험적 적용 (The Characteristics and Experimental Application of AGNPS Model for Pollution Predicting in Small Watershed)

  • AGNPS model is an event-based model to analyze nonpoint-source and to examine potential water quality problems from agricultural watershed. This model uses a square grid-cell system to represent the spatial variability of watershed conditions, and simulates runoff, sediment, and nutrient transport for each cell. AGNPS model was applied on Yeonwha watershed, and the test results were compared with the measured data for runoff volume, peak runoff rate, suspended solids, and phosphorus concentration. The watershed of 278.8 ha was divided into 278 cells, each of which was 1 ha in size. The coefficients of determination for runoff volume and peak flow were (0.893 and 0.801 respectively from regression of the estimated values on the measured values. The concentration of suspendid solid was increased but decreased that of phosphate with runoff volume.

남천에서의 강우시 비점오염물질의 유출특성 (Runoff Characteristics of Non-point Source According to Rainfall in Nam Watershed)

  • This study was conducted to identify the runoff characteristics of non-point source according to rainfall in Nam watershed. Land-uses of the Nam watershed were surveyed paddy field 4.5%, crop field 6.8%, mountainous 78.7%, urban 2.4%, and etc. 7.7%. Mean runoff coefficients in each area were observed Ⅰ area 0.08, Ⅱ area 0.08, and Ⅲ area 0.05. In the relationship between the rainfall and peak-flow, correlation coefficients(r) were investigated Ⅰ area -0.8609, Ⅱ area 0.6035, and Ⅲ area -0.4913. In the relationship between the antecedent dry period and first flow runoff, correlation coefficients(r) were investigated Ⅰ area -0.9093, Ⅱ area -0.1039, and Ⅲ area -0.7317. The discharge of pollutant concentrations relates to the flow rate of storm-water. In the relationship between the rainfall and watershed loading, exponent values of BOD, COD, SS, and T-N were estimated to 1.2751, 1.2003, 1.3744, and 1.1262, respectively.

도시 소유역의 유출변화 분석 (Runoff Analysis of Urban Small Watershed)

  • The hydrologic model FESHM was introduced and its applicability was investigated in an attempt to analyze the rainfall-runoff relationships of urban small watersheds and to hereafter predict the envi-ronmental changes. Basic data on rainfall, water level, geomorphological characterisitics and land use were obtained from Yeonwha stream watershed located in Chonju-si Dukjin-dong. WL-5 for simulation o subshed WS# 1(136.7 ha) with urban district and WL-1 for total watershed WS#5 (278.78 ha) we'e selected as gaging points. The main results gained through applications were summarized as follows. 1. Direct runoff ratio caalculated from a simple separation method for WS#5 WS# 1 was 2O~39%, 38~62%, respectively. 2. Simulations for the runoff estimation were carried out for each watershed using 5 rainfall events, the simulation errors had the range of 2~ 30%, O~ 63% and O 120 minutes for the runoff volume, peak flow and peak time, respectively. 3. The effect of landuse change by urbanization was tested to WS# 1, runoff volume before development was estimated as from tenth to twentieth against after development.

황강유역에서의 유역규모를 고려한 HSPF 모형의 적용성 평가 (Application Analysis of HSPF Model Considering Watershed Scale in Hwang River Basin)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate overall reliability and applicability of the watershed modeling for systematic management of point and non-point sources via water quality analysis and prediction of runoff discharge within watershed. Recently, runoff characteristics and pollutant characteristics have been changing in watershed by anomaly climate and urbanization. In this study, the effects of watershed scale were analyzed in runoff and water quality modeling using HSPF. In case of correlation coefficient, its range was from 0.936 to 0.984 in case A(divided - 2 small watersheds). On the other hand, its range was form 0.840 to 0.899 in case B(united - 1 watershed). In case of Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient, its range was from 0.718 to 0.966 in case A. On the other hand, its range was from 0.441 to 0.683 in case B. As a result, it was judged that case A was more accurate than case B. Therefore, runoff and water quality modeling in minimum watershed scale that was provided data for calibration and verification was judged to be favorable in accuracy. If optimal watershed dividing and parameter optimization using PEST in HSPF with more reliable measured data are carried out, more accurate runoff and water quality modeling will be performed.

대청호 상류 유역의 비점오염원 유출특성 분석 및 L-THIA 모형 적용성 평가 (Analysis of the Characteristics of NPS Runoff and Application of L-THIA model at Upper Daecheong Reservoir)

  • Generation and transportation of runoff and pollutant loads within watershed generated eutrophication at Daecheong reservoir. To improve water quality at Daecheong reservoir, the best management practices should be developed and applied at upper watersheds for water quality improvement at downstream areas. In this study, two small watersheds of upper Daecheong reservoir were selected. The Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment (L-THIA) model has been widely used for the estimation of the direct runoff worldwide. To apply the L-THIA ArcView GIS model was evaluated for direct runoff and water quality estimation at small watershed. And the Web-based Hydrograph Analysis Tool (WHAT) was used for direct runoff separating from total flow. As a result, the $R^2$ (Coefficient of determination) value and Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient value for direct runoff comparison at An-nae watershed were 0.81 and 0.71, respectively. And the $R^2$ value and Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient value at Wol-oe were 0.95 and 0.93. The $R^2$ value of BOD, TOC, T-N and T-P at An-nae watershed were BOD 0.94, TOC 0.81, T-N 0.94 and T-P 0.89. And the $R^2$ value of BOD, TOC, T-N and T-P at Wol-oe watershed were BOD 0.80, TOC 0.93, T-N 0.86 and T-P 0.65. The result that estimated pollutant loadings using the L-THIA ArcView GIS model reflected well the measured pollutant loadings except for T-P in Wol-oe watershed. With L-THIA ArcView GIS model, the direct runoff and non-point pollutant (NPS) loadings in the watershed could be analyzed through simple input data such as daily rainfall, land uses, and hydrologic soil group.

  • The Sumjin Reservoir watershed was simulated by the SSARR model. In order to calibrate the parameters of SSARR model, watershed was divided into three sub-basins with the basin characteristics and the observed runoff datum at estuary of dam were used. As the Results of study, there was not much of difference between the observed runoff and the simulated runoff.

  • Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) is mostly applied for the designs of large-scale hydraulic structures and it is estimated by computing the runoff hydrograph where Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) is inserted as design rainfall. The existing PMP is estimated by transferring the heavy rainfall from all watersheds of korea to the design watershed, however, in this study, PMP was analyzed by selecting only rainfall events occurred in the design watershed. And then, Catchment-scale Soil Erosion Model (CSEM) was used to estimate the PMF and sediment-runoff yield according to the watershed-based estimated PMP. Although the PMF estimated in this study was lower than the existing estimated PMF in the Yongdam-dam basin, it was estimated to be higher than the 200-year frequency design flood discharge. In addition, sediment-runoff yield was estimated with a 0.05 cm of the maximum erosion and a 0.06 cm of the maximum deposition, and a total sediment-runoff yield of 168,391 tons according to 24-hour PMP duration.

WEPP 모형을 이용한 밭포장과 밭유역의 토양 유실량 추정 (Applications of WEPP Model to a Plot and a Small Upland Watershed)

  • The paper presents the results from the applications of the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) model to a single plot, and also a small watershed in the Mid Korean Peninsula which is comprised of hillslopes and channels along the water courses. Field monitoring was carried out to obtain total runoff, peak runoff and sediment yield data from research sites. For the plot of 0.63 ha in size, cultivated with com, the relative error of the simulated total runoff, peak runoff rates, and sediment yields using WEPP ranged from -16.6 to 22%, from -15.6 to 6.0%, and from 23.9 to 356.4% compared to the observed data, respectively. The relative errors for the upland watershed of 5.1 ha ranged from -0.7 to 11.1 % for the total runoff, from -6.6 to 35.0 % for the sediment yields. The simulation results seem to justify that WEPP is applicable to the Korean dry croplands if the parameters are correctly defined. The results from WEPP applications showed that the major source areas contributing sediment yield most are downstream parts of the watershed where runoff concentrated. It was suggested that cultural practice be managed in such a way that the soil surface could be fully covered by crop during rainy season to minimize sediment yield. And also, best management practices were recommended based on WEPP simulations.

축산퇴비의 농지환원시 비점오염원으로서 수계에 미치는 영향 - 우분을 중심으로 - (Effect of Non-Point Sources from Livestock composted Land - A case of cows manure -)

  • 본 연구는 축산퇴비(우분)의 농지환원시 비점오염원으로써 수계에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 실제 농지에 작물을 재배하여 강우에 따라 농지표면으로 직접적으로 유출되는 유출수의 성분을 조사하였다. 축산퇴비(우분)의 농지환원시 수계유출율을 산정한 결과 단기유출의 강우시 BOD5는 0.6 %, CODcr은 0.3 %, CODMn은 0.1 %, T-N은 0.8 %, T-P는 1.0 %로 나타났다. 장기유출의 강우시 BOD5는 3.6 %, CODcr은 1.0 %, CODMn은 0.9 %, T-N은 4.9 %, T-P는 4.8 %로 나타나 강우유출시간이 증가될수록 수계유출율이 증가되는 것으로 나타났다.

산림소유역에서 MUSLE 유출에너지인자 계수값의 적용성 평가 (Evaluation on MUSLE Runoff Energy Coefficient in Small Forest Watershed)

  • This study was carried out to investigate coefficient and exponent of runoff energy in MUSLE for small forest watershed, Hwachoen watershed in Gangwon-do. For 15 rainfall events, runoff volume, peak discharge and sediment yield were measured and these data were used to calculate coefficient and exponent of runoff energy. The results of this study showed that $LS{\bullet}K{\bullet}C{\bullet}P$ factors of MUSLE were affected by slope steepness. The coefficient and exponent of runoff energy were validated with coefficient of efficiency of 0.92 and these values were suggested to 0.002 and 0.81 respectively. The comparison of the coefficients and exponents between Hwacheon and other forest watersheds showed that these values would reflect the effect of forest management within watershed.
