  • A factorial ($4{\times}2{\times}2$) experimental design was employed to determine apparent digestibilities of dry matter (DM), protein, lipid, energy and nitrogen-free extract (NFE) of the test diets containing either ${\alpha}$-potato starch (A-PS), ${\beta}$-potato starch (B-PS), ${\beta}$-corn starch (B-CS) or dextrin (DEX) as dietary carbohydrate energy for juvenile (average weight 30 g) and grower (average weight 300 g) rockfish reared at 13$^{\circ}C$ and 20$^{\circ}C$. Chromic oxide was used as an inert marker. Feces were collected by fecal collectors attached to rearing tanks from triplicate groups of juvenile and grower rockfish. Digestibilities of DM, energy and NFE of the test diets were significantly affected by dietary carbohydrate and water temperature (p<0.01), but not by fish size. DM digestibility of the fish fed the A-PS diet was significantly higher than that of fish fed other treatments, except for the DEX diet at 20$^{\circ}C$. DM digestibility of rockfish fed the B-CS diet was significantly lower than that of other diets. A similar pattern was observed in apparent digestibility of energy. NFE digestibility of fish fed the test diets was significantly affected by carbohydrate and significantly correlated to DM (r = 0.97, p<0.01) and energy (r = 0.99, p<0.01) digestibilities, regardless of water temperature and fish size. NFE digestibility of the fish fed the ${\beta}$-starch diets was relatively lower compared to that of the ${\alpha}$-starch diets, and ranged from 35 to 43% and 20 to 27% for B-PS and B-CS, respectively. The present findings indicate that carbohydrate and water temperature significantly affected digestibilities of dry matter, energy and nitrogen-free extract of rockfish. Among dietary carbohydrates, ${\alpha}$-potato starch could be effectively used as dietary carbohydrate energy for rockfish at 13$^{\circ}C$ and 20$^{\circ}C$.

  • This study examined the energy performance according to the main design parameters of a solar water heating system for an office building using the life cycle cost (LCC) optimization simulations. The LCC optimization simulations of the system were conducted with TRNSYS and GenOpt employing the Hooke-Jeeves algorithm for cases where water temperature was $60^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$. The results showed that for water temperature at $60^{\circ}C$ and $50^{\circ}C$ the global radiation incident on the collector could be decreased by 16.98% and 28.52%, collector useful energy gain could be decreased by 15.04% and 22.59%, energy to load from storage tank could be decreased by 10.86% and 18.06% and AH energy to load could be increased by 16.86% and 38.50% respectively compared to a non-optimized system. The annual average collection efficiency of the collector was increased by 0.88% for $60^{\circ}C$ and 2.78% for $50^{\circ}C$ because of increase of collector slope and decrease of the mass flow rate per collector area. The annual average efficiency of the system was increased by 1.74% and 3.47% compared to the basis system. However, the annual solar fraction of the system was decreased by 6.68% for $60^{\circ}C$ and 11.26% for $50^{\circ}C$ due to decrease of collector area and storage tank volume.

  • Architectural market in the world is trying to develop Zero Carbon Buildng that doesn"t use fossil fuel. Residential building that thermal load such as heating and domestic hot water is over 70% in energy consumption is easy to make Zero Carbon Building compared with office building that is mainly electric load. So, As a preliminary for analyzing the effect of Solar thermal system in the building, an annual energy consumption of residential building and total heat loads are calculated. Based on this result, three alternatives of solar thermal system for hot water and heating are applied in the building while installation area is increasing. Solar thermal system is applied on balcony and roof of apartment building as the way to reduce thermal load. In the first case that solar thermal system for hot water is applied on the balcony, optimum installation area is $56m^2$. And you could install $40m^2$ of this system in the roof that angle is $30^{\circ}$. In the second case of solar thermal system for heating and hot water, you can install $40m^2$ on the roof. As a result of economic evaluation, the most economical application method is to install $40m^2$ of solar thermal system for only hot water on the roof of the building. At that time, you can payback the initial investing cost within 10 years. And carbon emission of this method can be reduced until about 4 ton per year.

  • The production of hydrogen via water electrolysis (i.e., green hydrogen) using renewable energy is key to the development of a sustainable society. However, most current electrocatalysts are based on expensive precious metals and require the use of highly purified water in the electrolyte. We demonstrated the preparation of a non-precious metal catalyst based on CuCo2O4 (CCO) via simple electrodeposition. Further, an optimization process for electrodeposition potential, solution concentration and electrodeposition method was develop for a catalyst-substrate integrated electrode, which indicated the highly electrocatalytic performance of the material in electrochemical tests and when applied to an anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer.

  • To figure out the importance of temperature on electrochemical properties in water environment, calcium carbonate, one of important substances in water chemistry, was chosen to make suspensions. The result of electrokinetic potential of calcium carbonate suspensions revealed that it tended to increase as temperature increased. In addition, electrokinetic potential was negatively increased as suspensions became more basic. Its isoelectric point was ca. 7 regardless of temperature. The adsorption of hydrogen ions on calcium carbonate particles followed endothermic reaction. This result was verified by continuously measuring pH as adding HCl solution in calcium carbonate suspension. It explained that suspensions' potential was determined by DLVO theory which calculated total interaction energy between particles. Suspensions' total interaction energy was proportional to the value of electrokinetic potential. Furthermore, total interaction energy between particles increased as suspensions' temperature was increased.

  • Energy analysis for the hot water heating control system of apartment house complex is accomplished by computer simulation. Mathematical model of a boiler, pipe network and a unit-house is developed. The effects of heating control methods on the heating performance and energy consumption of the system are investigated. The heating control methods considered in this study are a continuous heating control, and on-off heating control and an intermittent heating control methods. For each control method, the effects of an outdoor temperature, indoor temperature sensing position and the capacities of the boilers and circulating pumps on the heating performance and energy consumption are obtained and "the best" control method is recommended.commended.

Separation ratio of emulsified fuel was shown good condition that of water content is small and longer ultrasonic energy adding time. Viscosity of emulsified fuel increased 79% with addition to water content and surface tension increased 1.6% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The SMD of emulsified fuel adding ultrasonic energy decreased with 3% in comparision to pure diesel oil. With increasing 5, 10% water content the SMD decreased 15.6, 20.1% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The mind-explosion was investigated with 4step.
