백운산 지역에서 계류수의 이화학적 성질에 미치는 양어장 개발의 영향 (Influences of Fish Farm Development on the Physicochemistry of Stream Water Quality in (Mt.) Paekun Area)

  • Quantifications of fish farm influences on stream water quality may provide basic informations on watershed management to reduce environmental impact due to fish farm development and to conserve stream water quality in forested watershed area. In this research stream water qualities around (Mt.) Paekun area were monitored by seasons and the following results were obtained. Due to the increase of pH in effluent water from the fish farm it was believed that alkalization of stream water can be accelerated by large scale development of fish farms in the forested watershed area. Negative effects on stream water quality was also observed by indications of increase in electrical conductivity and temperature of effluent water from the fish farm. Decreases of physicochemical indexes such as the amount of dissolved oxygen, percentage of dissolved oxygen and total amount of ion in effluent water from the fish farm were also negative aspects in downstream ecology. It is recommended that water purification system as well as eco-friendly fish farm design be incorporated to large scale fish farm development plan in forested watershed area.

경험적 고유함수법에 의한 한국동해 해황변동해석 (Empirical Orthogonal Function Analysis on the Monthly Variation of Flow Pattern in the East Sea of Kore)

  • 한국 동해 연안역의 공간적인 수온변동 특성을 밝히기 위하여 23년간 평균된 월별 평균수온 자료를 이용하여 0m 층에서 300m층 까지 각각 수층별로 E.O.F 분석을 행하고, T-S diagram과 단면별 수온분포도를 작성하여 비교, 검토하였다. 대표적인 수온의 변동양상에 따라 표층 (0m\~50m), 차층 $(100m\~150m)$ 및 중층$(200\~300m)$으로 나누었다. 수온변동량의 1st mode값에 의한 각 수층별 수온변동 양상을 요약하면 다음과 간다. 표층에서의 수온은 주로 계절적인 변동양상을 보인다. $100\~150m$ 층의 수온은 난류수와 냉수간의 상호작용과 상층으로 부터의 열의 전달작용에 의하여 주로 변동됨을 알 수 있다. $200~300m$ 층에서의 수온변동은 주로 연안 저층냉수의 이류에 의하여 지배되는 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구는 1987년도 문교부 기초과학 육성연구비의 지원에 의하여 이루어 졌다.

The Study on the Physiological Response in Wearing Sportswear in Two Different Environments

  • In this study, to find out the physiological reaction of the human body and the sensation of comfort when people are wearing sportswear which is made of waterproof breathable fabrics under general environmental conditions (temperature : $20{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, humidity : $60{\pm}5%RH$, air current : 0.1 m/sec) and rainy environmental conditions (temperature : $20{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, humidity : $60{\pm}5%RH$, air current : 0.1 m/sec, rainfall : 250 1/hr), we made an experiment with sportswear in an artificial climate chamber and studied the thermal physiological response and subjective sensation. Mean skin temperature of the subjects was low and had a big range of fluctuation in rainy environmental conditions of two condition. Temperature started to increase at the beginning of the exercise, reached the maximum at the 2nd level of the exercise and then started to decline. Rectal temperature showed a slighter increase and bigger range of fluctuation in general conditions than in rainy conditions. Except clothing micro climate in rainy conditions, temperature and humidity and their range of fluctuation around back were higher than those around chest. Humidity was high and had wide range of fluctuation in general conditions. Heart rate was 4.4 beats/min higher in general conditions. In subjective test on rainy conditions, the feeling of discomfort increased due to the raindrops fallen on the skin. Unlike that in general conditions, cold sensation increased and humidity sensation reached to the peak after the exercise. In wearing sportswear made of shape memory breathable waterproof fabric, controlling function over a small amount of heat and water was distinctive while it turned out to be not so comfortable over a large amount of heat and water. Through this, the limitation of shape memory breathable waterproof fabric was recognised.

  • The displacemant current measuring system used for detecting the dynamic behavior of monolayers at the air-water interface is described. It basically consists of a film balance, a pair of electrodes connected to each other through a sensitive ammeter. Here, one electrode is suspended in air and the other electrode is placed in the water. With Maxwell-displacement-current-measuring method, the phase transitons of $Poly-{\gamma}-benzyl_{L}$ -glutamate (PBLG) and $Poly-{\gamma}-benzyl_{D}$-glutamate(PBDG) on a water surface were detected. Measured surface pressure, displacement current and dipole moment of monolayers of PBLG and PBDG on the water surface. Also, we measured that compression velocity (30, 40, 50[mm/min]) when the sample spread volume was about 370[ul]-400[ul] and displacement current that occur when differed temperature. From the result, it is known that current is generated in the range of high surface pressures as compression velocity become faster and increase of temperature.

  • Corrosion control, in the end-shield cooling system of Wolsung Nuclear Power Plant, is directly related to the control of dissolved oxygen (DO). The current method, being used to deoxygenate the end-shield cooling water, is a chemical treatment by addition of reducing agent, hydrazine, to react with DO. This method has several limitations including high reaction temperature of hydrazine , unwanted explosive hydrogen gas production, and its intrinsic harmful property. A new approach to remove DO using a membrane-based oxygen removal system (MORS) was tried to overcome limitations of the hydrazine treatment. The DO removal efficiency of the MORS was found to be in the range 87% to 98%: The higher vacuum, the lower water flow rate and the higher water temperature tend to increase the DO removal efficiency.

마그네시아 製造에 關한 硏究 간수, 海水로 부터 水酸化마그네슘 製造 (Studies on Magnesia Production. Production of Magnesium Hydroxide from Bittern and Sea Water)

  • One of the difficult and time consuming problems in the production of magnesia from sea water is a settling rate of magnesium hydroxide. In this experiments, authors attempted to accelerate its settling rate by addition of various sedimenting agents as C.M.C., Separan and Starch, and sought for optimum calcination temperature for domestic dolomite, as alkali source, mole ratio of dolomite milk to bittern. It is observed through experiments that the small amounts of sedimenting agents, C.M.C., Separan, starch, 20 mg/l, 40 mg/l, 400mg/l, respectively increase the settling rate of magnesium hydroxide by 8 times or more. The following conditions resulted in good yield of magnesium hydroxide from sea water with relatively tolerable calcium oxide contaminated for the magnesium clinker. Calcinating temperature, $1,100{\sim}1,200^{\circ}C$, mole ratio of 10% dolomite milk to magnesium salts in sea water or bittern, 1. 2 : 1.

  • As a large construction such as highway, dam, reclaimed land etc. increase in number more and more, large amount of fill materials are required. It is needed to utilize a gypsum which is a by-product yielded from chemical plants, as fill materials. Though some studies have been conducted to know a engineering characteristic of gypsum, it is not certain that water contents were checked at $45^{\circ}C$ dry oven. This study proposed that water contents must be measured at $45^{\circ}C$ dry condition because gypsum is changed to other types as a dry temperature. As the results obtained by compaction tests, it is found that moisture of gypsum in compaction must be within -5.0~2.5 % O.M.C (optimal moisture content).

가공조건에 따른 전지대두분 두부의 품질 및 관능평가 (Quality and Sensory Evaluation of Whole Soybean Flour Tofu Prepared from various Processing Conditons)

  • Tofu (soybean curd) was made with whole soybean flour (WSF, 420 mesh) by various processing conditions of water addition ratio, heating time, coagulation temperature, molding pressure and 0.3% of mixed coagulant (CaSO₄:GDL=50:50(w/w)). Yield content of WSF-tofu was the highest in processing condition of 85℃ coagulation temperature, 10 times water addition, 5min. heating time and 25.00 g/㎠ molding pressure. As the increase of the water addition ratio from 8 to 14 times (water:WSF, v/w), Hunter's L and a values were increased. Raising of heating time (100℃, 1, 5, 10 and 15 min), a and b value were increased. Textural properties of WSF-tofu were significantly affected by coagulation temperature (75, 80, 85 and 90℃). Hardness was increased, but adhesiveness and cohesiveness were decreased. heating time was influenced on harness of WSF-tofu, but water addition ratio was not affected on hardness of WSF-tofu. Increasing of molding pressure (16.83, 25.00, 33.22 and 41.67 g/㎠, 1 hr) was resulted from a increased hardness, gumminess and chewingss of tofu, but adhesiveness was addition ratio, 5 min heating time and 25.00 g/㎠ molding pressure recorded the highest score in sensory evaluation test.
