Background: The sunfleck is an important light environmental factor for plants that live under the shade of trees. Currently, the smartfarm has a system that can artificially create these sunfleks. Therefore, it was intended to find optimal light conditions by measuring and analyzing photosynthetic responses of Eutrema japonica (Miq.) Koidz., a plant living in shade with high economic value under artificial sunflecks. Results: For this purpose, we used LED pulsed light as the simulated sunflecks and set the light frequency levels of six chambers to 20 Hz, 60 Hz, 180 Hz, 540 Hz, 1620 Hz, and 4860 Hz of a pulsed LED grow system in a plant factory and the duty ratio of the all chambers was set to 30%, 50%, and 70% every 2 weeks. We measured the photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and substomatal CO2 partial pressure of E. japonica under each light condition. We also calculated the results of measurement, A/Ci, and water use efficiency. According to our results, the photosynthetic rate was not different among different duty ratios, the transpiration rate was higher at the duty ratio of 70% than 30% and 50%, and stomatal conductance was higher at 50% and 70% than at 30%. In addition, the substomatal CO2 partial pressure was higher at the duty ratio of 50% than 30% and 70%, and A/Ci was higher at 30% than 50% and 70%. Water use efficiency was higher at 30% and 50% than at 70%. While the transpiration rate and stomatal conductance generally tended to become higher as the frequency level decreased, other physiological items did not change with different frequency levels. Conclusions: Our results showed that 30% and 50% duty ratios could be better in the cultivation of E. japonica due to suffering from water stress as well as light stress in environments with the 70% duty ratio by decreasing water use efficiency. These results suggest that E. japonica is adapted under the light environment with nature sunflecks around 30-50% duty ratio and low light frequency around 20 Hz.

The absolute absorbed dose can be determined according to the measurement conditions ; measurement material, detector, energy and calibration protocols. The purpose of this study is to compare the absolute absorbed dose due to the differences of measurement condition and calibration protocols for photon beams. Dosimetric measurements were performed with a farmer type PTW and NEL ionization chambers in water, solid water, and polystyrene phantoms using 6MV photon beams from Siemens linear accelerator. Measurements were made along the central axis of $10{\times}10cm$ field size for constant target to surface distance of 100cm for water, solid water and polystyrene phantom. Theoretical absorbed dose intercomparisons between TG21 and IAEA protocol were performed for various measurement combinations on phantom, ion chamber, and electrometer. There were no significant differences of absorbed dose value between TG2l and IAEA protocol. The differences between two protocols are within $1\%\;while\;the\;average\;value\;of\;IAEA\;protocol\;was\;0.5\%$ smaller than TG2l protocol. For the purpose of comparison, all the relative absorbed dose were nomalized to NEL ion chamber with Keithley electrometer and water phantom, The average differences are within $1\%,\;but\;individual\;discrepancies\;are\;in\;the\;range\;of\;-2.5\%\;to\;1.2\%$ depending upon the choice of measurement combination. The largest discrepancy of $-25\%$ was observed when NEL ion chamber with Keithley electrometer is used in solid water phantom. The main cause for this discrepancy is due to the use of same parameters of stopping power, absorption coefficient, etc. as used in water phantom. It should be mentioned that the solid water phantom is not recommended for absolute dose calibration as the alternative of water, since absorbed dose show some dependency on phantom material other than water. In conclusion, the trend of variation was not much dependent on calibration protocol. However, It shows that absorbed dose could be affected by phantom material other than water.

Thermal humidity characteristics were considered theoretically and experimentally. A Simply well-fitted correlation of a saturated vapor pressure-temperature curve of water was introduced based on Antoine equation to make theoretical prediction of relative humidity according to temperature variation. Characteristics of dew point were also examined theoretically and its relation with temperature and humidity was evaluated. The exact mass of water vapor in a specified humidity and temperature condition was estimated to provide useful insight into the idea about how much amount of water corresponds to a specified humidity and temperature condition in a confined system. A simple but well-fitting model of dehumidification process was introduced to anticipate the trend of relative humidity level during GN2(gaseous nitrogen) purge process in a humidity chamber. Well-suitedness of this model was also verified by comparison with experimental data. The overall appearance and specification of two thermal humidity chambers were introduced which were used to perform various thermal humidity tests in order to yield useful data necessary to support validity of theoretical models.

A bilateral comparison was conducted between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) to measure the absorbed dose to water in accelerator photon beams. KRISS served as a linking laboratory to compare the IAEA standard with the key comparison reference value (KCRV) of the BIPM.RI(I)-K6 program, in which KRISS participated in 2017. Two ionization chambers from the IAEA were used as transfer instruments for the comparison. Both laboratories measured the calibration coefficients of these instruments and calculated the ratios. The ratio of the KRISS standard to the KCRV was applied to obtain the degree of equivalence of the IAEA, along with its uncertainty. The largest deviation of the IAEA measurement from the KCRV was 3.4 mGy/Gy, significantly smaller than the expanded uncertainty of 10.7 mGy/Gy (k = 2, 95% level of confidence). This study demonstrates the equivalence of IAEA's measurement standard for accelerator photon beams to other primary standard dosimetry laboratories. It provides evidence for the satisfactory operation of IAEA's quality management system and enhances the international credibility of the IAEA SSDL network, particularly in high-energy accelerator photon beams from linear accelerators.
The world's first underground repository for low- and intermediate- level radioactive waste (SFR1) has been in operation since 1988. SFR1 can accommodate $1,000m^3$ of radioactive waste per year with 4 chambers and 1 silo with a total capacity of $63,000m^3$ of radioactive waste. With extended operation time of 10 of the 12 nuclear power reactors and dismantling of the other 2 nuclear reactors, more nuclear waste need to be disposed in the future. Therefore, Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Company (SKB) submitted a license application for a repository extension (SFR3) that consists of 6 additional rock chambers with a capacity of $108,000m^3$ of radioactive waste and for accommodating 9 boiling water reactor tanks. In this study, plans for the extension SFR3 are presented with the geological, geomechanical and hydrogeological issues to be considered.

For a $CO_2$ two-stage twin rotary compressor used for heat pump water heater system, changes of $CO_2$ solubility in PAG oil were investigated along the gas passages from the first stage suction to final discharge. Only slight changes in solubility took place in suction chambers for both of the first and second stages, but for compression chambers, solubility variation ranged from 0.115 to 0.136, and from 0.133 to 0.182, respectively for the first and second stages. Calculation of gas flashing in parts of leakage oil flows and of oil contained in control volumes due to solubility changes was conducted and included in gas pressure calculation. For the second stage, gas flashing amounts to around $5%\sim6%$ for most leakage flows. Cooling capacity, compressor input, and COP obtained by calculation were well compared to the experimental results. Effects of operation speed on the compressor performance was also studied: as the shaft speed increased, adiabatic efficiency decreased rapidly due to increased over-compression loss.
The response function of ionization chambers are measured in the narrow radiation field Nominal photon energies are 4MV, 6MV and 15MV. the Radii of the chambers are 0.5cm~3.05cm and the field size is 0.2$\times$20$\textrm{cm}^2$. The measurements are taken in the water phantom at 10cm depth. The beam kernel (radiation distribution profile) for narrow radiation field in the phantom are obtained from Monte Carlo simulation (EGS4, Electron Gamma Shower 4). The beam kernel components in the measured chamber response function are deconvolved in order to get the ideal chamber response function of the $\delta$-shaped function radiation field. The chamber response functions have energy dependent tendency before deconvolution, while they show energy invariant properties, after the components of beam kernels are removed by deconvolution method.
The response correction factor ( h) is a factor to convert the response of the chamber in solid phantom to the response in water. In RW3 solid phantom, the dependency of beam quality and depth for high energy X-rays are known characteristics, however the dependency of field size, SSD, and chamber type are unknown. In this work we have studied the unknown characteristics on the dependency of response correction factor. The farmer type chamber (FC65G) and small chamber (CC13) were used and two beam qualities of 6 and 15 MV were evaluated. The measured response correction factors at the depth of 5 cm and 10 cm were h = 1.015 and 1.021 for 6 MV X-rays, and h = 1.024 and 1.029 for 15 MV X-rays. In conclusion the response correction factor did not depend on the field size and SSD while depending on the beam quality and depth. In the chambers, there are small differences between the two chambers used in this study but we think additional study for more chambers should be required. The results in this study can be used for analyzing the measured values from ionization chamber dosimetry in RW3.
It is difficult to determine dosimetric characteristics for small field photon beams since such small fields do not achieve complete lateral electronic equilibrium and have steep dose gradients. Dosimetric characteristics of small field 4, 6, and 10 MeV photon beams have been measured in water with a diamond detector and compared to measurements using small volume cylindrical and plane parallel ionization chambers. Percent depth dose (PDD) and beam profiles for 6 and 10 MeV photon beams were measured with diamond detector and cylindrical ion chamber for small fields ranging from $1{\times}1\;to\;4{\times}4cm^2$. Total scatter factors($S_{c,p}$) for 4, 6, and 10 MeV photon beams were measured with diamond detector, cylindrical and plane parallel ion chambers for small fields ranging from $1{\times}1\;to\;4{\times}4cm^2$. The $S_{c,p}$ factors obtained with three detectors for 4, 6, and 10 MeV photon beams agreed well ($\pm1.2%$) for field sizes greater than $2{\times}2,\;2.5{\times}2.5,\;and\;3{\times}3\;cm^2$, respectively. For smaller field sizes, the cylindrical and plane parallel ionization chambers measure a smaller $S_{c,p}$ factor, as a result of the steep dose gradients across their sensitive volumes. The PDD values obtained with diamond detector and cylindrical ionization chamber for 6 and 10MeV photon beams agreed well ($\pm1.5%$) for field sizes greater than $4{\times}4\;cm^2$. For smaller field sizes, diamond detector produced a depth-dose curve which had a significantly shallower falloff than that obtained from the measurements of relative depth-dose with a cylindrical ionization chamber. For the measurements of beam profiles, a distortion in terms of broadened penumbra was observed with a cylindrical ionization chamber since diamond detector exhibited higher spatial resolution. The diamond detector with small sensitive volume, near water equivalent, and high spatial resolution is suitable detector compared to ionization chambers for the measurements of small field photon beams.
This paper deals with the reproductive ecology e.g., number of the pre-spawning moults, morphological characteristics of the pre-spawning moult the common moult, daily ration druing a molting cycle mating behavior, structures of spermatozoa and spermatophore, structure of vas deferens, mechanisms of the oviposition and brooding into the egg-chambers, a suitable time for the artificial mating and fertilization, time sequence of the oviposition and brooding into egg-chambers from the copulation, responses to temperature and chlorinity on the egg development and hatching, effect of temperatures on duration of egg development, physical mechanism of the egg hatching, to make an attempt for the artificial spawning and brooding to establish a suitable system of the artificial seedling-production for the aquaculture. 1. Females molted commonly $8{\~}10$ times at an interval of $17{\~}18$ days at $28^{\circ}C,\;3.26\~4.35\%_{\circ}$ while the prespawning moltings were $4{\~}5$ times at an interval of $13{\~}14$ days. The suitable state for artificial copulation was within 14 hours elapsed from the prespawning moltings (most suitable state was within 8 hours). Males discharged a gelatinous spermatophore and placed it on the females sternum during copulation. Oviposition was seen $6{\~}17$ hours after copulation. External fertilization was considered to take place at oviposition. Fertilized eggs held in egg-chambers forming between pleopods were about $5000{\~}6000$ in females those sizes about 6.5 cm in body length. 2. Eggs immediately after oviposition were elliptic shape, measuring $0.58{\times}0.48$ mm up to hatching. Their sizes increased with egg development and finally reached $0.85{\times}0.54$ mm up to hatching. The relationship between the long axis of the egg(Y in U) and days elapsed(X) was expressed as Y= 5.60194 + 0.007358X. The eggs performed superficial cleavage and their cleavage furrows became visible at the 4-daughter-nucleus stage. The eggs showed normal development up to hatching at water temperature range of $22{\~}30^{\circ}C$ (optimum temperature : $26{\~}28^{\circ}C$) and at chlorinity range of $0.00\~6.64\%_{\circ}$ (optimun chlorinity : $2.21{\%}_{\circ}$). The relationship between incubation period (Y in days) and water temperature(X in $^{\circ}C$) could be expressed as Y= 50.803-1.3555X. The eggs hatched $12{\~}13$ days after oviposition at $28.0{\~}28.6^{\circ}C$ 3. The pre-spawning moltings were appreciably different in the morphologic structure from those of common moltings. Breeding setae and dresses were formed on the thoracic regions, abdominal epimerae and the bases of the first to fourth pleopods in order to prepare and support oviposition, transfering and supporting eggs in egg-chambers up to hatching. These supplementary breeding organs were observed only at reproductive seasons.
