Computer software has gradually become an indispensable elements in many aspects of our daily lives and an important factor in numerous systems. In recent years, it is not unusual that the software cost is more than the hardware cost in many situations. In addition to the costs of developing software, the repair cost resulting from the software failures are even more significant. In this paper, a cost model with warranty cost, time to remove each fault detected in the software system, and delivery delay cost is developed. We use a software reliability model based on non-homogeneous Poisson process (NHPP). We discuss the optimal release policies to minimize the expected total software cost. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results.

This paper considers the maintenance model suggested by Jung and Park (2010) to adopt the Bayesian approach and obtain an optimal replacement policy following the expiration of NFRRW. As the criteria to determine the optimal maintenance period, we use the expected cost during the life cycle of the system. When the failure times are assumed to follow a Weibull distribution with unknown parameters, we propose an optimal maintenance policy based on the Bayesian approach. Also, we describe the revision of uncertainty about parameters in the light of data observed. Some numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.

The international sale transaction is in essence a sale of goods and presents all those commercial and legal problems in any sale of goods. As a result, A International sales contract imposes several duties on the parties : the seller must deliver the goods and transfer ownership in them, while the buyer must pay the price and take delivery of the goods. However, there are several problems which impede a active transaction between seller and buyer who have their places of business in other countries each other. Therefore, It is necessary to provide the concept on the conformity of goods in the Int'l Sale of Goods. Especially, In our consideration for the point of time when defects occurs, the existence of non-conformity of goods should be judged on the basis of time of delivery rather than time of contract. Moreover, The burden of proof about nonconformity of goods is another fact which make an international dispute between the contractual parties in an international trade. Thus, The consistency in the interpretation of law must be maintained betweened the warranty and seller's liability. In the Uniform Commercial Code and UN Convention, non-conformity of contract is made of contract liability. And in our civil and commercial law provisions of warranty should be understand as the special ones of the provisions of general non-performance of obligation liability. As a result, More concrete study of them is required because they may have a great influence especially on international trade. As a result, We should be our best in finding a helpful and systematic structure that the dualistic structure of nonperformance of obligation liability and warranty liability must be unified by studying the theories of English and American warranty and our legal system, as well as international practice and usage being used in an international trade.

Recently, the subject of reliability attracts a great deal of domestic and international attentions and the extensive research activities are being conducted as well. Such trend exists mainly due to the fact that the research on the subject of reliability not only contributes to the theoretical developments, but also may find a wide range of applications in practice over several fields. In particular, the research regarding the maintenance policy incorporating certain types of warranty for repairable system and its application is being performed extensively by many researchers, and their efforts seem more concentrated on developing new maintenance policies which minimize the expected operating cost incurred for replacement and repair of the system, while keeping the system at high reliability. Effective maintenance policy may reduce the operating cost and decrease the downtime of the system during its mission period and consequently, increase the productivity of the system. In this article, the major areas of interest in the field of reliability and its historic perspectives are given briefly and the theoretical aspects in several fields of reliability including the maintenance and warranty policies is also discussed. Furthermore, the current domestic situation regarding the education and research on reliability is presented, along with the importance of reliability theory and the difficulty of training reliability personnel. Finally, the author's opinion for effective education system is proposed.

최근 제품 판매 활동에 있어서 보증수리기간 연장과 관련 부품의 품질을 중심으로 하는 서비스 경쟁이 치열해지고 있다. 이러한 서비스 경쟁에 관련된 변수들은 대부분 명확하지 않으며, 생산 현장의 전문 지식들이 요구되기 때문에, 제품 판매에 관련된 의사결정에 있어서 보다 정교한 도구들의 사용이 요청되고 있다. 이러한 문제들은 제품 서비스 분야에 국한된 것이 아니고, 금융 관련기관, 신용 평가 기관, 보험회사와 같은 조직 및 관련 연구자들에게도 관심의 대상이 되고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제에 관련하여 하나의 퍼지 전문가 시스템을 임베디드 프로그램으로 개발하기 위한 접근 방식을 나타내고, 구체적으로 자동차 판매 서비스 경쟁에 있어서 중요한 부분으로 등장하고 있는 보증수리기간 연장을 중심으로 하는 의사결정 시스템을 제공하는데 있다. 퍼지 전문가 시스템의 구축 도구로는 문제와 해의 상술이 우리에게 익숙한 수학적 표현이 가능하고 사용자 중심의 통합적인 환경을 제공하고 있는 MATLAB을 사용하고, 이것을 기존 회사의 응용 프로그램에 임베디드하기 위한 API 함수들을 소개한다.

Although the bimodal mixed weibull distribution is used to developing burn-in model widely, the failure times for a component or a system is often truncated at some time, T, due to the obsolescence in the electronics industry. In this paper, we will determine minimum total cost and burn-in time by using the bimodal mixed weibull distribution and the truncated bimodal mixed weibull distribution under the free warranty policy. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, when products or system is not repairable, the width of the change of burn-in time can be larger by ${\beta}_1,\;{\beta}_2$ Second, if burn-in time become longer, it will be impossible to consider the bum-in in a long time, and in this case, the burn-in time should be shorten by the acceleration burn-in. Third, in case that opportunity loss cost or repair cost is exceed the warranty cost, or the total cost of considering burn-in is larger than that of not considering burn-in, it is not existed burn-in time which makes total cost to minimize. Forth, the shorter life-cycle of product, the more burn-in times will be decreased and the cost in considering burn-in will be increased

This paper addresses the Fault Monitoring System developed by Hyundai-Rotem based on the Mil-HDBK-2155 Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System. The purpose of a FRACAS is to provide a documented history of any problems, failures, their associated corrective actions as well as detailing how and why each problem arose or failure occurred during the Warranty Period for Rolling Stock delivered by Hyundai-Rotem. The Fault Monitoring System can assess the reliability, availability and maintainability as well as can predict no. of failure at a time which can input to Life Cycle Cost.

Our business conglomerates are sharing their fates economically because of mutual debt warranty among their own affiliates and excessive financial loans. For this reason, it is inevitably restrictive to obtain the whole information on such conglomerates by individual and consolidated financial statements. To solve this problem, the system of combined financial statement was introduced through modifications of the Act of the outside audit of corporations in 1988. As a result, 15 out of this nation's 30 major business conglomerates prepared and submitted their own combined financial statements. In this paper, all financial statements are grouped into financial and non-financial parts, based on characteristics of business control and combined financial statement. Then the business size, financial rate and internal transactions for each of the conglomerates are analyzed, based on which problems of the combined financial statement as announced publicly are clarified. For the system, this study suggests improvement points such as a sufficient publication of any possible situations and interest coordination caused between the date of business settlement and that of preparing combined financial statements by applying principles of sharing to the evaluation of valuable instrument papers for investment and by determining the amount, 5% accounting for the total amount of debt warranty, foreign exchange assets and debts.

Recently with making of 'The Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012(hereunder CIA)', the UK revised the duty of disclosure especially with the consumer insurance contract. According to the CIA, if the misrepresentation was careless, the insurer may have the three options based upon what the insurer would have done had the consumer taken care to answer the question accurately; a compensatory remedy, avoidance of the insurance contract or, amendment of the contract. I realized that the establishment of CIA has been exposed to pro-actively relieve the breach of Warranty and Disclosure, Representations as far as required by the Global Insurance market. It was found that it is expected to bring significant changes in UK Insurance Act system of the 21st century, and prepares competition from neighboring countries. On the other hand, in the common law system, countries under MIA(1906) are trying to address the breach of warranty and Disclosure, Representations, except the UK cannot completely adhere with a positive attitude.
