This study suggests hypothetic models and tests about the mediating effect of volunteer motivation which effects on the personal characteristic of hospice volunteer the participation level of volunteer activities and durability. Also, this study suggest a theoretical base for the seeking of hospice volunteer participation revitalization. This research participated 200 volunteers who attended the Autumn Conference in 2007 and 132 volunteers from five hospice organizations. The summary of research results is that the volunteer motivation of self-protection, career, social, understanding and value are endogenous variable and the 8 paths of Agreeable${\rightarrow}$self-protection, Agreeable${\rightarrow}$career, Neuroticism${\rightarrow}$career, Agreeable${\rightarrow}$social, Agreeable${\rightarrow}$understanding, Agreeable${\rightarrow}$value, Neuroticism${\rightarrow}$value, Extroversion${\rightarrow}$value valid. The path of social motivation${\rightarrow}$the participation level of volunteer activities, understanding motivation ${\rightarrow}$ the participation level of volunteer activities, value motivation${\rightarrow}$the participation level of volunteer activities are valid in the participation level of volunteer activities as an endogenous variable. The path of understanding motivation ${\rightarrow}$ the durability level of volunteer activities, value motivation ${\rightarrow}$ the durability level of volunteer activities, the participation level of volunteer activities ${\rightarrow}$ the durability level of volunteer activities are valid in the durability level of volunteer activities as an endogenous variable. Also, this study test the mediating effect an attended direct effect as the central figure and based on the these results, the revitalizations of hospice volunteer participant are suggested as an proposal.

For the success of a festival, effective volunteer management is axiomatic. Given the dramatically increased size and quality of festivals and events in Korea over the past fifteen years, the importance of effective volunteer management has been overlooked among festival organizations in comparison to similar festivals in western countries. This paper provides a description and an assessment of the Hi Seoul Festival 2009 volunteer program based on an seven-step ideal process of an effective festival volunteer program with suggestions for the program development by reviewing organizational documents, and an interview with a staff member of the Hi Seoul Festival organization, and a survey pertinent to festival volunteers' motivation. This study shows college students are more interested in volunteering at festivals in Korea with the primary motivation of developing relationships and gaining work experience. It also suggests that the Hi Seoul Festival organization should fully appreciate the importance of an effective volunteer program and the position and work of a volunteer coordinator.

The purpose of this study is to analyze motivations, benefits, and satisfactions of the college student volunteers. We carry out the pre-to-post survey with 615 college student volunteers (male 245, female 367) who have participated in the mobile education program for the elderly funded by a Telecom. The instruments consist of VFI (Volunteer Functions Inventory) developed by Clary & Snyder (1999), including 30 items for motivations, 12 items for achievements, and 5 items for satisfactions of volunteering. The items for motivations and achievements are comprised of 6 subcategories: career, value, understanding, protective, enhancement, and social. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Enhancement motivation is the highest, followed by understanding, value, career, protective, and social motivation. (2) Social benefit is the highest, followed enhancement, career, understanding, value, protective benefit. (3) The difference between motivation and benefit in social category is the largest, followed by career, enhancement, value, protective, and understanding category. While benefit is higher than motivation in all other categories, motivation is higher than benefit just in value category. (4) High motivation-high benefit, high motivation-low benefit, low motivation-high benefit, and low motivation-low benefit groups are dichotomized by the median of each motivation and benefit. In all six categories, high motivation-high benefit group shows the highest satisfaction, but low motivation-low benefit group shows the lowest. In short, benefit shows stronger correlation with satisfaction than motivation does. Finally, we suggest several implications for future research and policy of college students' volunteering based on these results.

This study was to analyze whether volunteer motivation represents a mediated effect in the relationship between social support and multicultural acceptance by university students as a late adolescent. Among the students attending a university located in North Chungcheong Province, 256 participants have experienced volunteer work. Data analysis conducted multiple regression analysis using SPSS and analysis showed that social support of university students affected multicultural acceptance and that volunteer motivation in their relationship between social support and multicultural acceptance was fully mediated. Based on these results, it has revealed a path that the social support of university students affects multicultural acceptance through volunteer motivation. Therefore, in order to gain social support, university students should improve their ability to maintain a positive view of interpersonal relations and to cope with conflicts efficiently. They will also have to strengthen self-directing capacity in order to increase the level of motivation for volunteer participation.

Purpose: This study tested a model of hospice volunteer's motivations and outcomes to encourage more volunteer workers to participate in hospice care. Methods: This included 200 volunteers who attended the Autumn Conference in 2007 and 132 volunteers from five hospice organizations. Results: Volunteers' existential well-being affected an endogenous variable of volunteers' participation in volunteer activities. The durability of volunteer activity was affected by value motivation, the level of participation in volunteer activities and the level of job satisfaction. For volunteers' job satisfaction level, valid endogenous variables included existential well-being, social motivation, understanding motivation and value motivation. The durability of volunteer activities was indirectly affected through three different paths. Volunteers' existential well-being determined the level of their participation in volunteer activities, which in turn affected the durability of such activities. Social motivation influenced volunteers' job satisfaction, and then the durability of volunteer activities. Volunteers' understanding of motivation also influenced their job satisfaction, and then the durability of volunteer activities. Conclusion: Based on these results, this study proposes that the durability of volunteers activities could be improved by developing a program to improve volunteers' well-being and by providing volunteers with education on altruistic values, encouraging them to seek intellectual growth, and advocating them to continue volunteer activities based on close relationships with other volunteers.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between a motivation to volunteer, personality, and interpersonal relationships in nursing students. Methods: A descriptive study was conducted using self-reported questionnaires to collect data from 185 nursing students in C city from February 1 to 28, 2018. Data were analyzed using independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation coefficient with SPSS version 21.0. Results: The mean score were 3.18±0.54 of motivation to volunteer, 4.62±0.50 of personality, and 3.74±0.44 of interpersonal relationships. Motivation to volunteer was positively correlated with personality and interpersonal relationships. A significant positive correlation was also found between personality and interpersonal relationships. Conclusion: Based on study results, nursing students need an opportunity to understand the nature of human and respect others through participation in various volunteer activities, and to improve personality and interpersonal relationship. Nurse educators should focus on the positive benefits of volunteering for nursing students and the strategies for encougring volunteering should be incorporated into the curriculum.

This study analyzed attitudes of primary school children about volunteer service as reported by 582 children, 267 parents and 236 teachers. It aimed to develop a program for the activation of primary school children's volunteer activities and internalization of the importance of continuous involvement in volunteer activities. Two 6th grade classes were sampled for participation in the experience-based preparatory education program. Questionnaires were distributed to subjects. Data were analyzed by SPSSWIN 10.0. Results showed that the experience-based preparatory education program elevated the level of children's motivation for volunteer activities and heightened their satisfaction with volunteer work. Recommendations were made further study.

The purpose of this study is to examine the motivation of elderly people to participate in volunteer activities and to analyze the effect of participation motivation on satisfaction with volunteer activities of them. The 297 questionnaires which were collected from persons over 60 years old who were doing voluntary service activity in welfare center for the aged, Silver police in Goyang and Paju city. The frequency, factor and regression analysis were used for the research. The results are as follows: First, the motivations to participate in volunteer activities had four factors: self-realization, social activities, social responsibility, and personal achievements, and these factors had positive effect on satisfaction with volunteer activities. Second, the motivation to participation in volunteer activities and the degree of satisfaction with them were found to be different in accordance with age, education, income, religion and health.

This study applied self-determination theory to investigate the relationships between volunteers' perception of supervisors' autonomy support, volunteering motivation, and persistence intentions among collegiate students. Collegiate volunteers(n=515) involved in volunteer activities completed measures of supervisors' autonomy support, 5 forms regulation, and persistence intentions. Bivariate correlations indicated that volunteer motivation demonstrated an ordered pattern of relationships, such that adjunct points along the regulatory continuum would be more positively associated with on another than distal points. Analyses using structural equation modeling revealed that supervisors' autonomy support was positively related to more autonomous motivation(intrinsic motivation and identified regulation), while was natively associated with amotivation. Amotivation was negatively related with persistence intentions, and more autonomous motivations(intrinsic and identified) predicted grater intentions to continue with volunteer activity for next 6 months. The findings are discussed in light of the self-determination theory.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the motivation of participation in the public library volunteers, and what factors influence on continuity and intensity of volunteer activity. It analyzed the questionnaires from 109 public library volunteers in Daegu Metropolitan City. First, public library volunteers were mainly participated by motivation for personal achievement and concerns on local welfare problems. Second, in case of the factors on the continuity and intensity of public library volunteer activity, four factors selected based on literature review had significant effects on each variables. Third, the loyalty on the public library newly investigated had also significant effects on the continuity and intensity of public library volunteer activity.
