Due to the rapid advancement of auto-refractor technology, most optometry shops provide refraction services. Despite their speed and convenience, the measurement values provided by auto-refractors include a significant degree of error due to psychological and physical factors. Therefore, there is a need for repetitive testing to obtain a smaller mean error value. However, even repetitive testing itself might not be sufficient to ensure accurate measurements. Therefore, research on a method of measurement that can complement auto-refractor measurements and provide confirmation of refraction results needs to be conducted. The customized optometry model described herein can satisfy the above requirements. With existing technologies, using human eye measurement devices to obtain relevant individual optical feature parameters is no longer difficult, and these parameters allow us to construct an optometry model for individual eyeballs. They also allow us to compute visual images produced from the optometry model using the CODE V macro programming language before recognizing the diffraction effects visual images with the neural network algorithm to obtain the accurate refractive diopter. This study attempts to combine the optometry model with the back-propagation neural network and achieve a double check recognition effect by complementing the auto-refractor. Results show that the accuracy achieved was above 98% and that this application could significantly enhance the service quality of refraction.

Visible light communication technology is being studied and developed in various ways due to advantages such as high transmission speed, excellent positioning and higher security. However, existing visible light communication systems have difficulties in entering the market because they use special transmitters and receivers. We will overcome the difficulty if we develope a VLC system that uses a conventional LED light as a transmitter and a smartphone camera as a receiver. What matters is that LED lights include a scatter filter to prevent glareness for human eyes, but the existing VLC(Visual Light Communication) method can not be applied. In this paper, we propose a method to encode data with On / Off patterns of LEDs in the lighting with $M{\times}N$ LEDs. We defined parameters like L-off-able and K-seperated to facilitate the recognition of On / Off patterns in the diffused Lights. We conducted experiments using an LED lighting and smart phones to determine the parameter values. Also, the maximum transmission rate of our encoding technique is mathematically presented. Our encoding scheme can be applied to indoor and outdoor positioning applications or settlement of commercial transactions.

The metaverse is emerging as the next digital environment for people not only to interact and collaborate with others, but also to have virtual consumption experiences. In this study, virtual fashion items for the consumer's digital self are deemed significant products with consumption value. Drawing from the regulatory focus theory, this study examines how consumers' promotion and prevention focus influence value perception and buying behaviors of virtual fashion items in the metaverse context. The data were collected through an online survey. A total of 546 consumers in their twenties who are aware of the metaverse responded to a self-administered questionnaire. The results showed that promotion focus influenced all the perceived consumption values of virtual fashion items such as the economic, visual authority, hedonic, and social value, whereas prevention focus influenced only the visual authority value. Visual authority value negatively affected both purchase intention and willingness to pay premium price, while others had a positive effect. The findings provide theoretical evidence that consumers' regulatory focus is critical in buying virtual fashion items and suggest that marketers devise effective strategies to stimulate consumers' regulatory focus and to emphasize the economic, hedonic, and social value of the items in the metaverse context.

In many instances a concise form of logic is often required for building today's complex systems. The method described in this paper can be used for a wide range of industrial applications that requires Boolean type of logic minimization. Unlike some of the previous logic minimization methods, the proposed method can be used to better gain insights into the logic minimization process. Based on the decimal valued matrix, the method described here can be used to find an exact minimized solution for a given Boolean function. It is a visual based method that primarily relies on grouping the cell values within the matrix. At the same time, the method is systematic to the extent that it can also be computerized. Constructing the matrix to visualize a logic minimization problem should be relatively easy for the most part, particularly if the computer-generated graphs are accompanied.

Presenting desirable direction of Korean interior landscape, the present studies were performed to survey the status of interior landscape of the Korean traditional and modern house in order to compare each other about the landscaping characteristics. The results were as follows: 1. Interior landscape of traditional houses put emphasis on mental aspects through furnitures, decorative elements, symbolic signs, paintings, writings, and moderate plants. 2. Interior landscape of modern house accentuated visual beauty by using westernized furnitures and decorative elements, and exotic plants. 3. These days we abundantly use exotic interior plants, but we need to develop native plant materials which have visual values and are well grown. 4. It is suggested that we should make effects to find and develop Korean interior landscape style which succeed from traditional interior landscape that has more accentuated on mental aspect.

This paper deals with problem of determining process target value under automated visual inspection(AVI) system. Three independent error sources - digitizing error, illumination error, and positional error - which have a close relationship with the performance of the AVI system, are considered. Assuming that digitizing error is uniformly or normally distributed and illumination and positional errors are normally distributed, respectively, the distribution function for the error of measured lengths is derived when the length of a product is measured by the AVI system. Then, Optimal target values under two error models of AVI system are obtained by minimizing the total expected cost function which consists of give away, rework and penalty cost. To validate two process setting models, AVI system for drinks filling process is made up and test results are discussed.

Due to rise in a more sophisticated consumer and free distribution of foreign goods domestic department stores have been confronted with the need to change marketing strategy. The VMD strategy has become increasingly important as the means in reaching the contemporary consumer who has been sensitized to a visual style of marketing strategy. The use of VMD organizational elements have enabled us to create basic planning data that more accurately reflect our current marketplace trends,. The positive influence and supporting role of visual merchandiser is needed more than ever and will be an important part of future profit and customer satisfaction regardless of whether the customer is driven from image buying values and product-quality issues.

Speech recognition performance is severly degraded under noisy envrionments. One approach to cope with this problem is audio-visual speech recognition. In this paper, we discuss the experiment results of bimodal speech recongition based on enhanced speech feature vectors using lip information. We try various kinds of speech features as like linear predicion coefficient, cepstrum, log area ratio and etc for transforming lip information into speech parameters. The experimental results show that the cepstrum parameter is the best feature in the point of reconition rate. Also, we present the desirable weighting values of audio and visual informations depending on signal-to-noiso ratio.

A new system for automatic scoring of 'organization' of the EEG dominant rhythm was constructed and applied to 18 normal subjects and 15 patients. Organization parameters which best represented the 'organization' as judged by 5 neurologists' visual inspection were calculated and the automatic organization scoring was obtained by a linear regression of those organization parameters. Furthermore, values of the regression coefficients were used to study the characteristics of EEG interpretation by each neurologist, and this scoring technique can also be applied to the training of EEG interpretation.

This paper proposes a novel technique for 3D scene relighting with interactive viewpoint changes. The proposed technique is based on a deep framebuffer framework for fast relighting computation which adopts image-based techniques to provide arbitrary view-changing. In the preprocessing stage, the shading parameters required for the surface shaders, such as surface color, normal, depth, ambient/diffuse/specular coefficients, and roughness, are cached into multiple deep framebuffers generated by several caching cameras which are created in an automatic manner. When the user designs the lighting setup, the relighting renderer builds a map to connect a screen pixel for the current rendering camera to the corresponding deep framebuffer pixel and then computes illumination at each pixel with the cache values taken from the deep framebuffers. All the relighting computations except the deep framebuffer pre-computation are carried out at interactive rates by the GPU.
