A Study on Display Data of Radiation Point at 3 Dimensions (3차원 공간상 방사선원 위치 정보 표현에 관한 연구)

  • In this research, 3D position exploring system was developed to detect direction and position of radiation source by using two general CCD camera. This system consists of a radiation detection device, a controlling device, and a monitoring device. A radiation detection device is composed of a collimator, a scintillator, CCD sensor, and radiation shielding part. Incident radiation is firstly collimated with direction and converted into visual lights in a scintillator. The CCD sensor detect the converted visual light and send a signal as an image. This can explore a radiation source with direction and distance from geometrical structure of two sensors. From these information, the developed 3D position exploring system can provide 3D radiation source information. This research will be useful for managing and processing radioactive materials in remote.

A Study on Taekwondo Training System using Hybrid Sensing Technique

  • We present a Taekwondo training system using a hybrid sensing technique of a body sensor and a visual sensor. Using a body sensor (accelerometer), rotational and inertial motion data are captured which are important for Taekwondo motion detection and evaluation. A visual sensor (camera) captures and records the sequential images of the performance. Motion chunk is proposed to structuralize Taekwondo motions and design HMM (Hidden Markov Model) for motion recognition. Trainees can evaluates their trial motions numerically by computing the distance to the standard motion performed by a trainer. For motion training video, the real-time video images captured by a camera is overlayed with a visualized body sensor data so that users can see how the rotational and inertial motion data flow.

  • Visual perception experiments were conducted to determine the acceptable limit of the contrast ratio of LCD TV under the watching condition. The results showed that the corresponding contrast ratio should be below 10,000:1 at the 3H(height of screen) distance in the living room environment.

  • In this study, a visual sensor system which can detect I-butt weld joint with height variation and includes a seam tracking algorithm was investigated. Three-dimensional position of an object can be acquired by using the method of distance measurement, i.e., an optical trigonometry which results from the spatial relations between the camera, the object and the structured light by a visible laser. Effects of laser intensity and iris number for the image quality as well as object material were investigated for the optical system design. For the image processing, a region of interest is defined from the whole image and a line image of laser is drew by using the gray level difference in the image. From the drew laser line, the weld joint can be recognized in searching the biggest point position calculated from the central difference method. Through a series of welding experiments, a good tracking performance was confirmed under GMA welding.

  • Purpose of this paper is to find the Baroquely characteristics in Korean Temple Architecture.(MA KOK-SA) We could find out the characteristics as follows; First, visual freedom and floating in the arrangement of the temple buildings through segmenting the axis. Second, tension of variations in size, distance, and frame. Third, diverse sceneries provided by Sequential(dynamic) view points. Fourth, visual process and sharp contrast between horizontality and verticality, and unexpected scenery, etc.

  • We present an efficient and robust measurement model for visual tracking. This approach builds on and extends work on subspace representations of measurement model. Subspace-based tracking algorithms have been introduced to visual tracking literature for a decade and show considerable tracking performance due to its robustness in matching. However the measures used in their measurement models are often restricted to few approaches. We propose a novel measure of object matching using Angle In Feature Space, which aims to improve the discriminability of matching in subspace. Therefore, our tracking algorithm can distinguish target from similar background clutters which often cause erroneous drift by conventional Distance From Feature Space measure. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed tracking algorithm under severe cluttered background.

  • This paper presents a visual feedback system that controls a micromanipulator using multiple microscopic vision information. The micromanipulation stations basically have optical microscope. However the single field-of-view of optical microscope essentially limits the workspace of the micromanipulator and low dept-of-field makes it difficult to handle 3D-shaped micro objects. The system consists of a stereoscopic microscope, three CCD cameras, the micromanipulator and personal computer. The use of stereoscopic microscope which has long working distance and high depth-of-field with selective field-of-view improves the recognizability of 3D-shaped micro objects and provides a method for overcoming several essential limitations in micromanipulation.   • We develop the signal processing method for implementing the human perceptual variant on frequency and space. The human visual perceptual sensitivity varies as frequency components and the human perceivable resolution diminishes as the distances further from the eye-focused point. For realizing the frequency sensitivity, we developed the signal direction adaptive multiband energy scaling method to weight the frequency components. The low-pass filtering is designed on the developed energy scaling method for diminishing perceivable resolutions as the deviated distance from the eye-focused point. The developed method not only enhances the frequency components of image signals at the eye-focused region but also smoothes non-perceivable detailed image signals at non-focused regions. The proposed method is verified by the subjective and objective evaluations that it can improve human perceptual visual quality.

  • The perception of landscape structure can he formed mode clearly, with including an auditory stimulus to a visual aspect. The waterfall, as an landscape element, will be considered of not only it's function and structure in landscape architecture designing but also harmony with environment which it has been situated, and contribution to the public goad. The purpose of this study was to establish more 7rational and practical design theory for the construction of waterfall. The number of subjects investigated were 47 of waterfall located in Mt. Palgong. In this study, the acoustic character of the waterfalls were investigated as an excellent effect to mask easily sensible noises. The correlations between the structure of waterfalls and water 1a17ing sound, which were useful for waterfall design and construction, were examined. It was discovered that the position of double distance of waterfall height From the waterfall is significant in the visual and acoustic perception of waterfall.

  • The accurate error size and discrimination region in the perception of depth amount from 3- dimensional images by the human visual system will be the basic data for the utilization and application of the binocular 3 - Dimensional image system. This paper is focused on studying the accuracy of the depth amount perceived from 3-dimensional images by the human visual system. From the performed experiment, the following results have been obtained: (1) The depth amount perceived from the binocular 3-dimensional images has been displayed by a proper scale of distance, and found to be imprecise and also have a large variance. (2) In utilizing the binocular 3-dimensional image system, it seems more appropriate to make the images viewed outward rather than inward from the screen in the regard of error and variance. (3) The binocular 3- dimensional image system can be effectively applied to displaying unreal space, for example, the layout of room in design, from the viewpoint of perception characteristics of depth amount.
