  • Tor proxy tool is studied which is most frequently used for ransomeware to penetrate into sensitive information. It will be researched for the malicious methods to spread virus by using Tor and considered a countermeasure to prevent them. We present exit relay methodology for Tor security policy, simulate it, and get a probability to detect the ransomeware. And we compare it with TSS technology which is able to protect the attack via virtual server on exit relay.

  • Ducklings collected from three farms, having history of rapid onset and spread of nerve signs including kick spasmodically with legs and opisthotonos, were pathologically, barteriologically, virologically examined. Grossly, multiple petechial to ecchymotic hemorrhages were detected in the swollen liver. Histopathologically, diffuse coagulative necrosis of hepatocytes was characteristic in acute cases. Chronic cases revealed marked bile duct hyperplasia rather than hepatocyte necrosis. Some of these cases exhibited multiple granulomas consisting of macrophages, heterophil, fibrin and necrotic cell debri. Filtered homogenate of livers sampled from ducklings caused embryo death with marked hemorrhage and swollen of liver after inoculation into chorioallantoic membrane. Three strains of Salmonella app.,S montevideo, S hadar, and S give, which were biochemically and serologically identified, weir isolated from ducklings of three farms, respectively. From these results, these ducklings were concurrently infected with duck hepatitis virus and Salmonella spp.

  • Reduced egg production with depigmented, chalky deposit, wrinkled and malformed eggs was observed in breeder flecks at the end of 1985 and further spread in laying flocks throughout the country. The disease was identified as Infectious Bronchitis based on serological findings and virus isolation.

  • Since face masks in public were mandated during COVID-19, more people have taken temperature checks, with their masks on. The study has developed a contactless thermal camera that accurately measures temperatures of people wearing different kinds of masks, detect people wearing masks wrong, and record the temperature data. The built-in system that identifies people wearing masks wrong is what masks our contactless thermal camera differentiated from other thermal cameras. Also our contactless thermal camera can keep track of the number of mask wearers in different regions and their temperatures. Thus, the analysis of such regional data can significantly contribute to stemming the spread of the virus.

  • Verruca plana is a cutaneous infection caused by the human papilloma virus. Although various treatment methods are currently available, most have limitations due to the risk of complications such as hyperpigmentation, edema, and scarring. Moreover, as the infection tends to spread easily, new verrucae can potentially develop, and treatment procedure times tend to be lengthy. Thus, novel treatment methods are required. The 2790-nm wavelength erbium:yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er:YSGG) laser is a superficial resurfacing laser. Here, we present a case of a 25-year-old woman with multiple verrucae treated using a 2790-nm Er:YSGG laser. Compared to traditional methods, this novel laser is convenient, produces better cosmetic outcomes, and is less time-consuming; it is therefore suitable for the treatment of facial verruca plana.

  • During the Covid-19 pandemic's first term of April-June 2020, the general public throughout Indonesia became familiar with the slang term "local lockdown." This term emerged in response to disorderly implementation of the half-hearted government policy called Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB). In villages around the country, people started to build portals to restrict "strangers" or "outsiders" from entering their village areas. These portals were also meant to publicly signal the villagers' fear of the spread of the virus. This paper will discuss two things: first, how fear was produced, using frameworks drawn from Giorgio Agamben's notable works State of Exception and Homo Sacer, and how governance reproduces it; and second, how people come to accept the state of emergency and then publicly express their acceptance of the situation. Critical discourse analysis is applied to read government policy and its reception. The research took place at Rempoah, Kedungmalang, and Pabuwaran villages in Banyumas, the southern regency of Central Java, Indonesia. The villagers' responses to the government's policy are visually represented through written warning signs.

  • COVID-19 is a viral pandemic disease that spreads widely all around the world. The only way to identify COVID-19 patients at an early stage is to stop the spread of the virus. Different approaches are used to diagnose, such as RT-PCR, Chest X-rays, and CT images. However, these are time-consuming and require a specialized lab. Therefore, there is a need to develop a time-efficient diagnosis method to detect COVID-19 patients. The proposed machine learning (ML) approach predicts the presence of coronavirus based on clinical symptoms. The clinical dataset is collected from the Israeli Ministry of Health. We used different ML classifiers (i.e., XGB, DT, RF, and NB) to diagnose COVID-19. Later, classifiers are optimized with the Bayesian hyperparameter optimization approach to improve the performance. The optimized RF outperformed the others and achieved an accuracy of 97.62% on the testing data that help the early diagnosis of COVID-19 patients.

  • The Philippines is still in a tight battle with the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic since many cases are detected daily. With the continuous spread of another disease worldwide-monkeypox, many Filipinos are alarmed if the country's healthcare system is prepared enough, especially with the detection of its first case. Learning from the unfortunate experiences of the country during the current pandemic is essential in facing another health crisis. With this, recommendations for a robust healthcare system are proposed centered on: a massive digital information campaign about the disease; training healthcare workers to raise awareness about the virus and its transmission, management, and treatment; an intensified surveillance and detection procedure to monitor cases and execute contact tracing properly; and a persistent procurement of vaccines and drugs for treatment, with a well-designed vaccination program.

  • Zoonotic poxvirus infections pose significant threat to human health as we have witnessed recent spread of monkeypox. Therefore, insights into molecular mechanism behind poxvirus replication cycle are needed for the development of efficient antiviral strategies. Virion assembly is one of the key steps that determine the fate of replicating poxviruses. However, in-depth understanding of poxvirus assembly is challenging due to the complex nature of multi-step morphogenesis and heterogeneous virion structures. Despite these challenges, decades of research have revealed virion morphologies at various maturation stages, critical protein components and interactions with host cell compartments. Transmission electron microscopy has been employed as an indispensable tool for the examination of virion morphology, and more recently for the structure determination of protein complexes. In this review, we describe some of the major findings in poxvirus morphogenesis and the contributions of continuously advancing electron microscopy techniques.
