In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), various Data-Centric Storages (DCS) schemes have been proposed to store the collected data and to efficiently process a query. A DCS scheme assigns distributed data regions to sensor nodes and stores the collected data to the sensor which is responsible for the data region to process the query efficiently. However, since the whole data stored in a node will be lost when a fault of the node occurs, the accuracy of the query processing becomes low, In this paper, we propose an in-network aggregation query processing method that assures the high accuracy of query result in the case of data loss due to the faults of the nodes in the DCS scheme. When a data loss occurs, the proposed method creates a compensation model for an area of data loss using the linear regression technique and returns the result of the query including the virtual data. It guarantees the query result with high accuracy in spite of the faults of the nodes, To show the superiority of our proposed method, we compare E-KDDCS (KDDCS with the proposed method) with existing DCS schemes without the data-loss correction method. In the result, our proposed method increases accuracy and reduces query processing costs over the existing schemes.

The objective of this study was to develop a runoff analysis system of the Nakdong River watershed using the GRM (Grid-based Rainfall-runoff Model), a physically-based distributed rainfall-runoff model, and to assess the system run time performance according to Microsoft Azure VM (Virtual Machine) settings. Nakdong River watershed was divided into 20 sub-watersheds, and GRM model was constructed for each subwatershed. Runoff analysis of each watershed was calculated in separated CPU process that maintained the upstream and downstream topology. MoLIT (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) real-time radar rainfall and dam discharge data were applied to the analysis. Runoff analysis system was run in Azure environment, and simulation results were displayed through web page. Based on this study, the Nakdong River real-time runoff analysis system, which consisted of a real-time data server, calculation node (Azure), and user PC, could be developed. The system performance was more dependent on the CPU than RAM. Disk I/O and calculation bottlenecks could be resolved by distributing disk I/O and calculation processes, respectively, and simulation runtime could thereby be decreased. The study results could be referenced to construct a large watershed runoff analysis system using a distributed model with high resolution spatial and hydrological data.
As random access memory chip gets cheaper, it becomes affordable to realize main memory-based database systems. Consequently, reducing cache misses emerges as the most important issue in current main memory databases, in which CPU speeds have been increasing at 60% per year, compared to the memory speeds at 10% per you. In this paper, we design and implement a main-memory database system for real-time mobile GIS. Our system is composed of 5 modules: the interface manager provides the interface for PDA users; the memory data manager controls spatial and non-spatial data in main-memory using virtual memory techniques; the query manager processes spatial and non-spatial query : the index manager manages the MR-tree index for spatial data and the T-tree index for non-spatial index : the GIS server interface provides the interface with disk-based GIS. The MR-tree proposed propagates node splits upward only if one of the internal nodes on the insertion path has empty space. Thus, the internal nodes of the MR-tree are almost 100% full. Our experimental study shows that the two-dimensional MR-tree performs search up to 2.4 times faster than the ordinary R-tree. To use virtual memory techniques, the memory data manager uses page tables for spatial data, non- spatial data, T-tree and MR-tree. And, it uses indirect addressing techniques for fast reloading from disk.
Increase in the wireless mobile network users brings the issue of mobility management into the Virtual Private Network (VPN) services. We propose a provider edge (PE)-based provider provisioned mobile VPN mechanism, which enables efficient communication between a mobile VPN user and one or more correspondents located in different VPN sites. The proposed mechanism not only reduces the IPSec tunnel overhead at the mobile user node to the minimum, but also enables the traffic to be delivered through optimized paths among the (mobile) VPN users without incurring significant extra IPSec tunnel overhead regardless of the user's locations. The proposed architecture and protocols are based on the BGP/MPLS VPN technology that is defined in RFC24547. A service provider platform entity named PPVPN Network Server (PNS) is defined in order to extend the BGP/MPLS VPN service to the mobile users. Compared to the user- and CE-based mobile VPN mechanisms, the proposed mechanism requires less overhead with respect to the IPSec tunnel management. The simulation results also show that it outperforms the existing mobile VPN mechanisms with respect to the handoff latency and/or the end-to-end packet delay.

This paper presents the development and implementation of a zero-copy file transfer mechanism that improves the efficiency of file transfers for PC cluster systems using hardware-based VIA(Virtual Interface Architecture) network adapters. VIA is one of the representative user-level communication interfaces, but because there is no library for file transfer, one copy occurs between kernel buffer and user boilers. Our mechanism presents a file transfer primitive that does not require the file system to be modified and allows the NIC to transfer data from the kernel buffer to the remote node directly without copying. To do this, we have developed a hardware-based VIA network adapter, which supports the PCI 64bit/66MHz bus and Gigabit Ethernet, as a NIC, and implemented a zero-copy file transfer mechanism. The experimental results show that the overhead of data coy and context switching in the sender is greatly reduced and the CPU utilization of the sender is reduced to $30\%\~40\%$ of the VIA send/receive mechanism. We demonstrate the performance of the zero-copy file transfer mechanism experimentally. and compare the results with those from existing file transfer mechanisms.
IEEE 802.15.4[1] has been standardized for the physical layer and MAC layer of LR-PANs(Low Rate-Wireless Personal Area Networks) as a technology for operations with low power on sensor networks. The standardization is applied to the variety of applications in the shortrange wireless communication with limited output and performance, for example wireless sensor or virtual wire, but it includes vulnerabilities for various attacks because of the lack of security researches. In this paper, we analyze the vulnerabilities against the denial of sleep attacks on the MAC layer of IEEE 802.15.4, and propose a detection mechanism against it. In results, we analyzed the possibilities of denial of sleep attacks by the modification of superframe, the modification of CW(Contention Window), the process of channel scan or PAN association, and so on. Moreover, we comprehended that some of these attacks can mount even though the standardized security services such as encryption or authentication are performed. In addition to, we model for denial of sleep attacks by Beacon/Association Request messages, and propose a detection mechanism against them. This detection mechanism utilizes the management table consisting of the interval and node ID of request messages, and signal strength. In simulation results, we can show the effect of attacks, the detection possibility and performance superiorities of proposed mechanism.

In this paper, a dynamic route control scheme to increase speed of data communication over public network is presented. And a new structure of gateway which is suitable for the public network environments is proposed and analyzed. For dynamic allocation of transmission routing resources of the gateway and improvement of call processing ratio of the system, virtual queue is used. As results, route utilization ratio of the proposed scheme can be improved up to 60% as compared to the conventional fixed route control scheme. For the case of limited number of routes, it provides high speed data communication while maintaining delay time as low as possible. In addition, as the allocation period at call access node can be varied with the traffic in the proposed scheme, various traffics can be applied easily. Thus, it can be expected that the presented dynamic route control gateway may be suitable for application in high speed data communication over public network.

In this paper, we propose a new location service and location-based routing for data dissemination from a source to a mobile group sink in less energy consumption of the sensor node. Unlike the existing protocols, the proposed protocol uses a leader sink instead of a group area as the location information to represent a mobile sink group. The proposed protocol also uses grid leaders on virtual grid structure to support sink mobility in location service. By using a leader sink as a representative and grid leaders for mobility supporting, the proposed protocol can exploit an efficient hierarchical location service and data dissemination method without using flooding. Accordingly, the proposed protocol carries out upper layer location services and data dissemination between a leader sink and a source and lower layer location services and data dissemination between the leader sink and member sinks. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed protocol achieves energy-efficiency.
The path-finding algorithm refers to an algorithm for navigating the route order from the current position to the destination in a virtual world in a game. The conventional path-finding algorithm performs graph search based on cost such as A-Star and Dijkstra. A-Star and Dijkstra require movable node and edge data in the world map, so it is difficult to apply online games with lots of map data. In this paper, we provide a Heuristic-based Genetic Algorithm Path-finding(HGAP) using Genetic Algorithm(GA). Genetic Algorithm is a path-finding algorithm applicable to game with variable environment and lots of map data. It seek solutions through mating, crossing, mutation and evolutionary operations without the map data. The proposed algorithm is based on Binary-Coded Genetic Algorithm and searches for a path by performing a heuristic operation that estimates a path to a destination to arrive at a destination more quickly.

This paper presents the design and the implementation of a MissCW(Multi user Interactive System for Synchronous Collaborative Writing). The document model DMDA(Distributed Multimedia Document Architecture) of MissCW consists of the logical structure, presentation style object, and mark object. The windows. The collaborative editor of this system proposes a structure oriented editing mechanism to combine distrbuted objects into one document. The middleware SOM(Shared Object Manager) maintains shared objects consistently and helps application programs use objects efficiently. The infrastructure of this system is a hybrid structure of replicated and centralized architectures, that is to maintain shared objects consistently inside of SOM and to reduce the overhead of network traffic. The central part is a virtual node which corresponds to the Object Controller of SOMwith the SOT(Shared Objet Table).
