  • Marketing practice varies among firms. However, the prescriptive literature emphasises a universal view of practice, a 'one size fits all' view. This paper addresses the issue of explaining diversity in marketing practice in competitive space and in time. Diversity in competitive space reflects the existence of different routes to high performance. Diversity in time reflects some combination of change in the individual firm and change in a population of firms. In the former case, diversity is shaped by organisational change; in the latter by the disbandment and founding of firms in the population. In so far as diversity is the norm, the manner in which practice will be shaped by evolutionary processes is considered. Fnally, the role of the academy as one of the forces driving the evolutionary process is discussed. Miles and Snow's (1978, 1986) work is taken as a main point of departure in the search for explanation and ecological and evolutionary concepts are drawn on for support and to suggest an explanation for the nature of diversity over time.

  • Children interest themselves in all different toys they see, before beginning to speak. The psychological reasons for children′s interest in toys have been investigated for a long time. Thus many scientists have studied on the question "what is game?", but they have not reached a consensus yet. Such contradiction may be dependent upon different points of view of the researchers about game. Besides, the view of game of a child and an adult is different too. According to an adult game is a rebirth and escape from monotony. For child it is a work. The aim of this study is to make mathematics regarding a mass of abstract concepts for the students of grade 1-3 of primary school in the concrete operations period, more attractive with the help of educational and instructional games, and to contribute to student′s developing. The capability of thinking and producing by changing abstract concepts into concrete ones.

  • A wide field-of-view (FOV) image contains more visual information than a conventional image. This study proposes a new type of hyperbolic mirror for wide FOV image acquisition. The proposed mirror consists of a hyperbolic cylindrical section and a bowl-shaped hyperbolic omnidirectional section. Using an imaging system with this mirror, it is possible to achieve a $213.8^{\circ}$ horizontal and a $126.94^{\circ}$ vertical maximum FOV. Parameters of each section of the mirror are designed to be continuous at the junction of the two parts, and the resultant image is seamless. The image-acquisition model is obtained using ray-tracing optics. To rectify the geometrical distortion of the original image due to the mirror, an image-restoration algorithm based on conformal projection is presented in this study. The performance of the proposed imaging system with the hyperbolic mirror and its image-restoration algorithm are verified by experiments.

  • The purpose of this qualitative case study is to understand how the idea of data view and information graphics is used in the social studios middle school textbooks. Data were collected through national curriculum documents and social studies middle textbooks for 7-9 grades. We set up three questions for this studies; what kinds of information graphics are used in the textbooks, how the graphics are organized in the social studies middle school, and how the 7th social studies curriculum is related with the 7th national mathematics curriculum. Through the data analysis, we found that 1) Photographs, illustrations, information maps, etc., are used and frequencies of their usages are in descending order, 2) double lines graphs, circle graphs, and stripe graphs nip often adopted for the comparison of populations, 3) the relation of the two subjects curricula is not so good, especially in the curriculum steps of information mads scatter diagrams, and comparison of populations. Finally we suggest that new web site of data view or information graphics be provided for two curricula, workshop of information graphics are needed for social studies teachers.

  • The purpose of this study is analyze physical and textual characteristics on an epigraph, the Memorial Stone of Yun Gwm(尹? 誌石). This was edited by Kim Yeon-Su. On the view of physical point, the Memorial Stone is made of black stone and its size is 25.0cm high, 31.0cm wide, and 2.5cm thick. On the view of textual point the text of Memorial Stone is about the career of Yun Gwan, and the printed style of writing is by depressed engraving on both side black stone plane.

  • The aim of this study was to explain the relationship between the landscape organization and evaluating factors to harmonize the buildings with natural landscape using the landscape simulation models (near view less than $100{\cal}m$) controled the distance and obtain some knowledges about the introduction of buildings into the recreation forest. Through this study, the results were summarized as follow ;1) As the distance got to be near, the evaluation of comprehensive scenery and natural quality became low. 2) At the view points according to the distance the clear landscape organization showed a high value of scenery in comparison with the simple landscape organization, 3) As the coniferous forest showed more high value in comparison with the deciduous forest, the forest type surrounding cottage is important factor evaluating the landscape in the recreation forest area.

  • The purpose of this study is analyze physical and textual characteristics of the fold screen with Gosi(고시), tour ancient poems own by Beopjusa temple(법주사) in Mt. Sokrisan(속리산). The calligraphic specimen of this fold screen is written by King Seonjo(선조), and it seems to be made by between 1725 and 1758. On the view of physical point, the size of the fold screen is 190.0cm high, and 67.2cm wide each fold. And its format is made by 8 fold screen and its calligraphic style is a ‘cursive’ style. It was printed by wood block printing with chinese ink on the Geonji(견지). On the view of textual point, the fold screen of Gosi(고시) is consist of four ancient poems, and its content is describe to yearning for the appearance of the true gentleman possessed with high principles and virtue. And the four ancient poems is arranged by a well organized passage.

  • The MATS (Mesosphere Airglow/Aerosol Tomography Spectroscopy) satellite is the next Swedish science microsatellite. We report optical performance test results of the limb telescope, which is the major payload. This telescope is designed with "linear astigmatism-free" (LAF) off-axis optical system in order to have high optical performance across the wide field of view. We measured Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) and Encircled Energy Diameter (EED) of the limb telescope. Full field imaging tests show expected results without linear astigmatism across the full field of view ($5.67^{\circ}{\times}0.91^{\circ}$). Since the amount of stray light is from the earth and the sun, we also simulated and measured the stray light in the field image.

  • Cavernocypris gosuensis n. sp. (Cyprididiae, Cypridopsinae), a new subterranean ostracod species is described with figures of female valves, mouthparts, appendeges and SEM photos from Gosu cave, Danyang-Gun, Chungcheongbuk-Do in Korea. The new stygobiont speices is sixth of the genus Caveroncypris Hartmann, 1964 that characterized by both valeves with a median concave part in ventral view and two groove lines in dorsal view, the reduction of the furca, which is flagellum like in female and the left valve ventrally overlaps the right valve when the carapace is closed and can be distinguished from its congers by left valve with 6 muscle scars in innerpart, mandible palp with one claw and 3 setae on the terminal segment and without seta on the exterodistal border of segment III. The animals were collected within pH 7.31-8.74, temperature ($^{\circ}C$) 13.0-14.6 and dissolved oxygen (mg/l 6.75-14.84 from Aug.2003 to Sep.2004.

  • With the lightening of the mobile devices, thinning of electrolytic copper foil, which is mainly used as an anode collection of lithium secondary batteries, is needed. As the copper foil becomes ultrathin, mechanical properties such as deterioration of elongation rate and tear phenomenon are occurring, which is closely related to microstructure. However, there is a problem that it is not easy to prepare and observe specimens in the analysis of the microstructure of ultrathin copper foil. In this study, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) specimens were fabricated using only mechanical polishing to analyze the microstructure of 8 ㎛ thick electrolytic copper foil in plane view. In addition, EBSD maps and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images were compared and analyzed to find the optimal cleanup technique for properly correcting errors in EBSD maps.
