회전기계의 고장안전진단 사례연구 (A Case Study of the Breakdown Evaluation to the Rotary Machine)

  • 본 연구에서는 회전기계에서 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 사례연구이다. 각각의 회전기계에 대하여 진동분석을 통한 고장발생유무를 각종의 측정 데이터를 이용하여 분석하여 향후에 발생할 수 있는 고장에 대한 안전진단에 대한 방법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 상태 감시 및 진단 방법을 적용한 결과, 회전기계의 추후 고장을 예측할 수 있었다.

  • Chemical facility system have dangerous elements that can injure the human like an explosion and a fire, gas poisoning by a leakage of the harmful chemical material. In addition to a vibration of the machine occurs the leakage. Therefore, the chemical factory requires for periodic monitoring of the vibration. But, until now, the operator has executed a monitoring of the machine by the senses. So, the diagnostic expert system by which the operator can judge easily and expertly a condition of the machine is developed.   • In metal cutting operation, it is very important that predict cutting force and work surface. Vibration is an unstable cutting phenomenon which is due to the interaction of the dynamics of the chip removal process and the structural dynamics of machine tool. When vibration on, it reduces tool life, results in poor surface roughness and low productivity of the machining process. In this study, the experiments were conducted in machining center without cutting fluid to investigate the phenomenon of vibration. In the experiments, accelerometers were set up at the tail stock and tool holder and signals were picked up. Surface roughness profiles are generated under the ideal condition and the occurrence of vibration based on the surface shaping simulation model.

  • Web-based analysis programs for reliability assessment of machine tools were developed in this study. First, the reliability data analysis program was developed to search for failure rate using failure data and reliability test data of mechanical part. Second, failure mode analysis was developed through performance tests like circular movement test vibration test for machine tools. This analysis program shows correlation between failure mode and performance test result. Third, tool life was predicted by correlation between flank wear and cutting time, using the extended Taylor tool life equation in turning data and the equivalently converted equation in order to apply ball endmill data to Taylor tool life equation in milling data. All the information related to input and result data can be stored in theses programs.

  • Recently the agitator are being widely used in the machine plan in order to increase the petrochemical industry. The agitator normally consist of impeller, shaft, hub, reduction gear and the driving motor. It is one of the key design issue to confirm that the vibration caused by the rotation of the shaft should not coincide with the natural frequency of the shaft itself. And petrochemical industry as well as plants have been in operation for long period beyond their original design lives. In this paper the vibration of Ox-Reactor Agitator is measured for check machine condition. The result of diagnosis and solution is discussed in this paper.

  • Moving flexible structures such as transfer systems in press machine, crane, working table of machine tools have vibration problems because of starting, feeding and stopping. An analysis method is suggested and experimentally studied in order to solve a vibration problem of a moving flexible structure. In this method, the concepts of substructure synthesis method and semi-static displacement including rigid body mode were used. Total deformation of a structure was assumed to be composed of quasi-static and dynamic components. Experimental results from an elementary model of a transfer feeder showed good agreements with computational results.

  • In this article, we introduce the study case of technology that can automatically compensate the errors of these factors of a machine during processing on the machine tool's CNC(Computerized Numerical Controller) in real time. The biggest factors that lower the machining accuracy are thermal deformation and chatter vibration. This study is related to the detection and compensation of thermal deformation and chatter vibration that can compensate for faster and produce processed goods with more precision by autonomous compensation. In addition, this study is related to the active control of vibration during machining, monitoring of cutting force and auto recognition of machining axes origin. Thus, we attempt to introduce the related contents of the development we have made in this article.

Neural Network Based Expert System for Induction Motor Faults Detection

  • Early detection and diagnosis of incipient induction machine faults increases machinery availability, reduces consequential damage, and improves operational efficiency. However, fault detection using analytical methods is not always possible because it requires perfect knowledge of a process model. This paper proposes a neural network based expert system for diagnosing problems with induction motors using vibration analysis. The short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is used to process the quasi-steady vibration signals, and the neural network is trained and tested using the vibration spectra. The efficiency of the developed neural network expert system is evaluated. The results show that a neural network expert system can be developed based on vibration measurements acquired on-line from the machine.

  • The necessity of diagnosis of the rotating machinery which is widely used in the industry is increasing. Because vibration diagnosis can avoid sudden breakdown of machine and reduce the maintenance costs. In chemical factory, Air-compressor and refrigerator which can affect the performance and capacity of output is important machine. Therefore, in this paper, the vibration of reassembled air-compressor and refrigerator after explosion is measured for checking the machine condition. The result of diagnosis and solution is discussed in this paper.
