Objective : Surgical clipping of the cerebral aenurysm is considered as a standard therapy with endovascular coil embolization. The surgical clipping is known to be superior to the endovascular coil embolization in terms of recurrent rate. However, a recurrent aneurysm which is initially treated by surgical clipping is difficult to handle. The purpose of this study was to research the management of the recurrent cerebral aneurysm after a surgical clipping and how to overcome them. Methods : From January 1996 to December 2015, medical records and radiologic findings of 14 patients with recurrent aneurysm after surgical clipping were reviewed retrospectively. Detailed case-by-case analysis was performed based on preoperative, postoperative and follow-up radiologic examinations and operative findings. All clinical variables including age, sex, aneurysm size and location, type and number of applied clips, prognosis, and time to recurrence are evaluated. All patients are classified by causes of the recurrence. Possible risk factors that could contribute to those causes and overcoming ways are comprehensively discussed. Results : All recurrent aneurysms after surgical clipping were 14 of 2364 (0.5%). Three cases were males and 11 cases were females. Mean age was 52.3. At first treatment, nine cases were ruptured aneurysms, four cases were unruptured aneurysms, and one case was unknown. Locations of recurrent aneurysm were determined; anterior communicating artery (A-com) (n=7), posterior communicating artery (P-com) (n=3), middle cerebral artery (n=2), anterior cerebral artery (n=1) and basilar artery (n=1). As treatment of the recurrence, 11 cases were treated by surgical clipping and three cases were treated by endovascular coil embolization. Three cases of all 14 cases occurred in a month after the initial treatment. Eleven cases occurred after a longer interval, and three of them occurred after 15 years. By analyzing radiographs and operative findings, several main causes of the recurrent cerebral aneurysm were found. One case was incomplete clipping, five cases were clip slippage, and eight cases were fragility of vessel wall near the clip edge. Conclusion : This study revealed main causes of the recurrent aneurysm and contributing risk factors to be controlled. To manage those risk factors and ultimately prevent the recurrent aneurysm, neurosurgeons have to be careful in the technical aspect during surgery for a complete clipping without a slippage. Even in a perfect surgery, an aneurysm may recur at the clip site due to a hemodynamic change over years. Therefore, all patients must be followed up by imaging for a long period of time.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to test the efficacy of various methods of fat harvesting in animal model by viability comparison with assay including cell counting, MTT assay, and histologic evaluation. Materials and methods: New Zealand white rabbits experiments were used. Groin fat pads were subjected to different harvest method varying ingredients of solution(Experiment 1: T1 solution= lidocaine 1000mg/L, epinephrine 1mg/L, sodium bicarbonate 10mgEq/L, Triamcinolone 10mgEq/L; T2 solution=lidocaine 1000mg/L, epinephrine 1mg/L, sodium bicarbonate 0mgEq/L, Triamcinolone 0mgEq/L) and pressure exerted on harvesting with Luer-Lock syringe connected to suction cannula.(Experiment 2: P1 group=3cc intermittent pressure; P2 group=10cc sustained pressure) Fat cell viability was assessed with cell counting with a hemocytometer, MTT assay, and histologic evaluation. Results: Experiment 1 Cell count: T1=2.4/3.4/4.2, T2=9.6/8.4/7.2($\times10^5$ per mL); MTT assay: T1=0.516/0.41/0.453/0.412/0.421, T2=0.925/0.765/0.54/0.634/0.614 in 21 days(absorbance); Histology: T1 showed elongated and, different in size and shape, and ruptured adipocytes with only a few normal adipocytes whereas T2 showed central core of fat with almost intact fat cells Experiment 2 Cell count: P1=1.2/3.2/4.2, P2=1.2/2.4/3.8($\times10^5$ per mL); MTT assay:P1=0.256/0.245/0.258/0.21/0.264, P2=0.12/0.231/0.245/0.313/0.281 in 21 days(absorbance); Histology: P1 showed somewhat evenly distributed normal-looking fat cells and P2 showed relatively irregular shape of fat cells with small blood vessel amongst adiopocytes. Conclusion: Viability was higher in ‘modified tumescent solution’without sodium bicarbonate and triamcinolone and we also found no significantly different viability between using intermittent pressure and using sustained pressure. But in terms of initial viability of fat cell, we can assume that lower intermittent pressure would make better clinical results.

This study was performed to investigate the gross anatomical features and microscopical structures of the hemal nodes and the hemolymph nodes in the sheep. The hemal nodes and hemolymph nodes were observed mainly in periphery of the thoracic and abdominal aortae of the animals. The size of hemal nodes was generally smaller than that of the hemolymph nodes, and the shape of the both organs was spherical or ovoid. The color of the hemal nodes was red, while that of the hemolymph nodes was grary with red bands. The hemal nodes were surrounded by a relatively thick connective tissue capsule and there were extensive subcapsular sinuses distended by a great number of erythrocytes. Although a few number of lymphatic nodules and small areas of diffuse lymphatic tissues were observed in the parenchyma, no typical cortex and medulla were defined in the hemal node. Small numbers of blood vessels were found at the connective tissue capsule but lymph vessel was not observed microscopically in this organ. The hemolymph nodes were covered by a relatively thick connective tissue capsule and there was a hilus in each node. The parenchyma was divided into cortex and medulla. The cortex was composed of a few numbers of lymphatic nodules and some diffuse lymphatic tissues. The medulla comprised medullary sinuses and cords. Afferent and efferent lymph vessels were observed at the periphery of the capsule adn the hilus, respectively. The subcapsular and medullary sinuses were not extensive but filled with small numbers of erythrocytes. The stroma of hemal node and hemolymph node was composed of reticular cells and fibers, and the capsule and trabecula consisted of collagenous fibers with smooth muscle fibers.
Ni-Zn ferrite powder was synthesized from metal nitrates, Fe(N $O_3$)$_3$$.$9 $H_2$O, Ni(N $O_3$)$_2$$.$6 $H_2$O, Zn(N $O_3$)$_2$$.$6 $H_2$O by wet direct process to make high permeability material. The composition of the ferrite powder is (N $i_{0.284}$F $e_{0.053}$Z $n_{0.663}$)F $e_2$$O_4$. Ni-Zn ferrite powder is compounded by precipitating metal nitrates with NaOH in vessel at 90$^{\circ}C$ synthetic temperature for 8 hours. Calcination temperature and sintering temperature were 700$^{\circ}C$ and 1150$^{\circ}C$-1250$^{\circ}C$ respectively for 2 hours. The same compound powder was extracted from metal oxide by wet ballmilling. We compared the properties of powder and the electromagnetic characteristics of the sintered cores obtained from the two different processes. Wet direct process produces smaller particle size with narrower distribution and higher purified ferrite which cores has high permeability and high magnetization.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present extended indications for the use of arterialized venous flaps in reconstructing soft tissue, tendon, nerve, blood vessel, and composite tissue defects of the hand of various sizes based on researches and clinical experiences of the authors. Moreover, procedures to achieve complete flap survival and postoperative results are presented. Materials & methods: This study is based on 154 cases of arterialized venous flaps performed to reconstruct the hand during the past 11 years. The most common cause of injury was industrial accidents with 125 cases. One hundred thirty patients or 84% of the cases had emergency operation within 2 weeks of the injury. The flaps were categorized depending on the size of the flap. Flaps smaller than $10\;cm^2$ were classified as small (n=48), those larger than $25\;cm^2$ classified large (n=42) and those in between medium (n=64). Classified according to composition, there were 88 cases (57.1 %) of venous skin flaps, 28 cases of innervated venous flaps, 15 cases of tendocutaneous venous flaps, which incorporated the palmaris longus tendon, for repair of extensor tendons of the fingers, and 17 cases of conduit venous flaps to repair arterial defect. There were 37 cases where multiple injuries to multiple digits were reconstructed. Moreover, there were 6 cases of composite tissue effects that involved soft tissue, blood vessels and tendons. The donor sites were ipsilateral forearm, wrist and thenar area, foot dorsum, and medial calf. The recipient sites were single digit, multiple digits, first web space, dorsum and palm of hand, and wrist. Results: There were seven cases (4.5%) of emergent re-exploration due to vascular crisis, and 3 cases of flap failure characterized by more than 50% necrosis of the flap. The survival rate was 98.1 % (151/154). In small flaps, an average of 1.01 afferent arteries and 1.05 efferent veins were microanastomosed, and in large flaps, an average of 1.88 afferent arteries and 2.19 efferent veins were anastomosed. In 8 cases where innervated flaps were used for reconstructing the palm of the hand, the average static two-point discrimination was $10\;(8{\sim}15)\;mm$. In 12 cases where tenocutaneous flaps were used, active range of motion at the proximal interphalangeal joint was 60 degrees, 20 degrees at the distal interphalangeal joint, and 75 degrees at the metacarpophalangeal joint. Conclusion: We conclude that the arterialized venous flap is a valuable and effective tool in the reconstruction of hand injuries, and could have a more comprehensive set of indications.
Two different sensors (here, KOMPSAT and RADARSAT) are considered for ship detection, and are used to delineate the detection performance for their data The experiments are set for coastal regions of Mokpo Port and Ulsan Port and field experiments on board pilot boat are conducted to collect in situ ship validation information such as ship type and length This paper introduce mainly the experiment result of ship detection by both RADARSAT SAR imagery and land-based RADAR data, operated by the local Authority of South Korean, so called vessel traffic system (VTS) radar. Fine imagery of Ulsan Port was acquired on June 19, 2004 and in-situ data such as wind speed and direction, taking pictures of ships and natural features were obtained aboard a pilot ship. North winds, with a maximum speed of 3.1 m/s were recorded Ship's position, size and shape and natural features of breakwaters, oil pipeline and alongside ship were compared using SAR and VTS. It is shown that KOMPSAT/EOC has a good performance in the detection of a moving ship at a speed of kts or more an hour that ship and its wake can be imaged. The detection capability of RADARSAT doesn't matter how fast ship is running and depends on a ship itself, e.g. its material, length and type. Our results indicate that SAR can be applicable to automated ship detection for a VTS and SAR combination service.

Field observation for oceanic conditions and paralarvae of the common squid, Todarodes pacificus in Korean waters were sampled with the Bongo net (diameter: 60 cm, mesh size: $333{\mu}m$) by using oblique tow method with the oceanographic research vessel (Tamgu 12 and Tamgu 20) around Korean waters (middle of the Yellow Sea, northern part of the East China Sea, East Sea) in 2013 and 2014 was carried out. The observation in the Yellow Sea and the northern part of the East China Sea was done in August, 2013 and in the East Sea it was repeated at seven times from June, 2013 to September, 2014. The paralarvae in August of 2013 was not found in the Yellow Sea and one paralarvae was found in the northern part of the East China Sea. In the East Sea, 39 paralarvae during whole observation period were found, mantle length of paralarvae was from 1.7 to 13.5 mm. Surface water temperature in the Yellow Sea was $30^{\circ}C$, and cold water mass lower than $10^{\circ}C$ was occupied in the deep layer than 30 m. In the northern part of the East China Sea, surface water temperature was $31^{\circ}C$, and higher water temperature above $20^{\circ}C$ was found in deeper than 50 m. In the East Sea, optimum temperature for survival, $15-24^{\circ}C$, was existed shallower than 75 m.

To prevent serious maritime accident and eliminate the cause of the potential maritime accidents, Maritime Safety Audit Scheme was formally institutionalized through amendment of Maritime Traffic Safety Act(May 27, '09). At the initial step of the enforcement of the law, it has risen the necessity of amending the present institution concerning with the range of applicable business, method of practice, detailed technical standards in the assessment articles, etc. Among them, the assessment of marine traffic congestion has been practiced as a mandatory assessment article, but it is analyzed that the assessment doesn't reflect current variation of ships' size and its speed. By analyzing the status of assessments on marine traffic congestion so far and collecting experts' opinion, this paper suggests draft amendments to improve technical standards on the assessment of marine traffic congestion.

Marine accidents caused by dragging anchors occur constantly due to enlargement of ships' size and unusual weather conditions. Nevertheless, vessel operators rely on their experience because the calculations of actual holding power and external forces are complex and inconvenient. The purpose of this study was to propose a program for the anchor dragging risk assessment in order to provide crew and VTSO with the information to determine easily the danger of dragging and take appropriate action. The input data in this program were composed of the ship's basic particulars, anchoring condition, and external environment etc. on calculating for the wind pressure, frictional force, drift force, and holding power. Three dragging anchor accidents were applied to the program's data input at the time of the day, then the result was assessed by 'warning', which was verified with a high confidence. As a result, the risk of dragging anchors can be predicted in advance through this program. In further studies, it is necessary to simplify the input data and improve user convenience through automatic input from various equipment.

The effect of attrition scrubbing on the recovery of platinum group metals (PGMs) from automobile catalytic converters has been investigated. Catalytic converters were first crushed into particles less than 2 mm and attrition scrubbed in the range of 60 min, and then they were sieved with several screens. The catalyst layer, $\gamma$-alumina, was dislodged from the surface of the supporting matrix into fine particles less than $45{\mu}m$ by attrition scrubbing. The fraction of fine particles less than $45{\mu}m$ increased as the residence time for attrition scrubbing increased. The composition of the fine fraction obtained at a residence time of 40 min was $CeO_2$ 19.3%, $ZrO_2$ 1.9% and PGMs 419 ppm. In the fine fraction, the recovery of y-alumina increased proportionally to the residence time. Simultaneously, the recovery rates of $CeO_2$, $ZrO_2$ and PGMs increased to 82.9%, 78.7% and 78.9%, respectively. The production of the fine fraction less than $45{\mu}m$ and the recovery of $\gamma$-alumina increased when the solid concentration and initial feed size increased. Therefore, the attrition scrubbing as the comminution and separation process was concerned to be effective for the recovery of catalyst layer from ceramic supporting matrix by physical impact and shearing action between particles in the scrubbing vessel.
