부유식 해양도시의 동적응답특성 (Dynamic Response Characteristics of a Floating Ocean City in Waves)

  • The dynamic response characteristics of a floating ocean city are examined for presenting the basic data for the design of huge offshore structures supported by a large number of floating bodies in waves. The numerical approach which is accurate in linear system is based on combination of a three dimensional source distribution method, wave interaction theory and the finite element method of using the space frame element. The hydrodynamic interactions among the floating bodies are taken into account in their exact form within the context of linear potential theory in the motion and structural analysis. The method is applicable to an arbitrary number of three dimensional bodies having any individual body geometries and geometrical arrangement with the restriction that the circumscribed, bottom-mounted. Imaginary vertical cylinder for each body does not contain any part of the other body. The validity of this procedure was verified by comparing with experimental results obtained in the literature.

배경제거 가산투영 방법을 이용한 근거리 해상 표적 탐지 (Close Surface Targets Detection using Background Removal Integral Projection in Coastal Environment)

  • In this paper, we propose a robust background removal integral projection(BRIP) method which can detect close surface targets in coastal environment for IRST. Row pixels of background region from coastal infrared image show similar response. Thus, the proposed BRIP is calculated after horizontal and vertical background estimations and removals are performed sequentially. Finally, surface large targets can be detected using the results of the BRIP. Experimental results on a set of real infrared image sequence show that the proposed method could fully detect ships in every frame.

Evaluation of the Partial Compressive Strength according to the Wood Grain Direction

  • Bearing occurs by the rotations of members induced from horizontal or vertical load at traditional wooden joint in frame. The bearing between wooden members is not occurring at the whole surface of joint, but occurring only at the particular bearing area. In this study, partial bearing according to the different grain direction was evaluated. The partial compressive strength showed 3 times higher than pure compressive strength perpendicular to grain, 1.5 times higher than parallel to grain and 3.3 times higher than both of them. It is expected that this result can be very importantly applied when evaluating and analyzing the actual behavior of traditional wooden mortise and tenon joint.

  • In the present study, an experimental study of natural convection in a partitioned 2D square enclosure has been carried out. The square enclosure consist of two adiabatic vertical walls and the upper cold and the lower hot walls. A partition is positioned perpendicularly at the center of the left vortical insulated wall. The PIV measurements were performed with the variations of Rayleigh number, partition length and inclination of the enclosure. The working fluid is water with Prandtl number of 6.996 at 20$\^{C}$. The captured images were analyzed by using a cross-correlation (two-frame/single-exposure) PIV method.

  • The effect of lateral intermolecular interactions among the adsorbate molecules has been incorporated into the theory of multilayer physical adsorption developed previously by the present authors within the frame of Bragg-Williams approximation and the resulting adsorption isotherm has been used to interpret the adsorption data of tetramethylsilane vapor on clean iron film which we failed to account for in our previous works. The result has shown that up to the point where the relative pressure is about 0.7 considerable improvement is obtained but beyond this point there still remains large difference between theoretical and experimental isotherm. Such difference is supposed to arise from the neglect of effect of vertical interaction between the adsorbate molecules and the adsorbent surface.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 기업의 존재이유와 기업의 범위결정을 신슘페터주의 진화경제학의 관점에서 설명하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 Witt(1998)의 리더쉽 관점을 통해 소규모 벤처 기업의 탄생을 설명하고 복잡한 위계조직으로 변한 후에는 기업가의 인지 및 조정능력과 의사소통능력의 한계 때문에 기업의 역량을 분리하는 것이 어렵다는 점을 논증한다. 본 논문의 기업이론은 기존이론과 비교했을 때 1) 기능주의적 설명과 진화론적 설명을 통합하고, 2) 산업 차원에서 기업의 범위 결정을 논할 수 있고, 3) 기업 범위의 산업 내 이질성을 설명할 수 있고, 4) 기업 범위의 변화를 설명하는데 적합하다는 강점을 지니고 있다.

Operational modal analysis of structures by stochastic subspace identification with a delay index

  • Practical ambient excitations of engineering structures usually do not comply with the stationary-white-noise assumption in traditional operational modal analysis methods due to heavy traffic, wind guests, and other disturbances. In order to eliminate spurious modes induced by non-white noise inputs, the improved stochastic subspace identification based on a delay index is proposed in this paper for a representative kind of stationary non-white noise ambient excitations, which have nonzero autocorrelation values near the vertical axis. It relaxes the stationary-white-noise assumption of inputs by avoiding corresponding unqualified elements in the Hankel matrix. Details of the improved stochastic subspace identification algorithms and determination of the delay index are discussed. Numerical simulations on a four-story frame and laboratory vibration experiments on a simply supported beam have demonstrated the accuracy and reliability of the proposed method in eliminating spurious modes under non-white noise ambient excitations.

고속전철교량의 동적 거동에 미치는 감쇠와 교좌장치의 영향 (The Effects of Bearings and Damping on the Dynamic Behavior of bridge for KHSR)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic behaviors of KHSR(Korea High-Speed Railway) bridge supported by elastomeric bearings subjected to high-speed vehicles. The effects of damping on the dynamic behaviors are also studied. The train composed of two power cars, two motor cars and eighteen passenger cars are simulated using constant moving forces for simplicity and effectiveness in the analysis. Direct integration method are used to solve the dynamic equation of motion. The bridge analyzed is real bridge with 2@40m span and concrete continuos box girder. The bridge is model led using frame element in three dimensional space. From the results of this study, the effects of elastomeric bearing on the dynamic responses of bridge(especially vertical accelerations) may cause undesirable behaviors. Damping are very important in the dynamic behaviors of the bridge subjected to high-speed railways. And so, dynamic analysis of steel bridge for high-speed railway supported by elastomeric bearings should be performed carefully.

꺽쇠형 강재 댐퍼의 록킹 거동 (Rocking Behavior of Clamped Shape Metallic Damper)

  • This study proposes a technique to dissipate the energy of a rocking wall installed on a frame by using a metallic damper. The rocking behavior is to turn left and right about the wall vertical axis. The development system is a method of dissipating energy by installing a damper which is the like on a large displacement portion. Experimental results showed that in case of shorter strut make strength capacity increasement and in case of longer strut make deformation capacity increasement. The higher the strut height, the better the energy dissipation capacity. The proposed equation for estimating the steel damper strength applied to this study is a straight type strut damper. However, it is not suitable for calculation of the strength of clamped type strut damper where both flexural behavior and shear behavior are mixed.

강판 형상비 및 판폭두께비에 따른 강판전단벽의 변형모드 및 이력특성 (Hysteretic Characteristics and Deformation Modes of Steel Plate Shear Walls According to Aspect Ratios and Width-to-Thickness Ratios)

  • Steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) have been recognized as an effective seismic-force resisting systems due to their excellent strength and stiffness characteristics. The infill steel plate in a SPSW is constrained by a boundary frame consisting of vertical and horizontal structural members. The main purpose of this study was to investigate deformation modes and hysteretic characteristics of steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) to consider the effects of their aspect ratios and width-to-thicness ratios. The finite element model (FEM) was establish in order to simulate cyclic responses of SPSWs which have the two-side clamped boundary condition and made of conventional steel grade. The stress distribution obtained from the FEA results demonstrated that the principal stresses on steel plate with large thickness-to-width ratio were more uniformly distributed along its horizontal cross section due to the formation of multiple struts.
