사진촬영으로 측정한 착용안경의 유발프리즘 (Induced Prisms of Wearing Glasses Measured by Photographing)

  • 목적: 착용안경의 광학중심점과 동공중심의 일치여부를 사진촬영방법으로 확인하였으며, 불일치에 의해 유발되는 프리즘 영향을 연구하였다. 방법: 안경착용자 74명(148안), 평균나이 $29.19{\pm}12.22$세(19~55세)를 대상으로 안경을 착용한 상태에서 카메라 플래시를 터트리면서 안면사진을 촬영하였다. 촬영된 사진으로 각막반사상과 안경렌즈 광학중심점의 일치, 수평 및 수직오차를 측정하였으며, 불일치 편차로부터 안경테에 따라 유발되는 프리즘을 산출하였다. 결과: 양안수평오차는 금속테가 $1.55{\pm}1.70mm$, clings type 플라스틱테가 $1.71{\pm}2.21mm$, 플라스틱테가 $1.15{\pm}1.38mm$이었다. 수평방향의 유발된 프리즘이 허용오차를 벗어난 비율이 23.0%였으며, BI 프리즘 17.6%, BO 프리즘 5.4%이었다. 양안수직오차는 금속테가 $3.93{\pm}1.91mm$, clings type 플라스틱테가 $5.79{\pm}1.93mm$, 플라스틱테가 $6.01{\pm}2.94mm$이었다. 수직방향의 유발된 프리즘이 허용오차를 벗어난 비율은 44.6%였으며, 안경렌즈의 굴절력을 기준으로 -0.25${\leq}-3.00$에서 12.2%, -3.00${\leq}-12.00$에서 32.4%가 허용오차범위를 벗어났다. 결론: 수평방향에서 유도된 프리즘은 BI 프리즘이 많았다. 양안수직오차는 플라스틱테의 안경이 금속테의 안경보다 크게 나타났으며, 교정 굴절력이 높은 안경일수록 유발된 프리즘이 더 컸다. 사진촬영 방법으로 동공의 위치와 광학중심점을 동시에 측정할 수 있으며, 착용안경에서 유발되는 프리즘을 직접 평가할 수 있었다.

Welcome the Challenges and Imaging the Sky Town

  • Safety, livability, and efficiency are the three prominent problems of tall buildings, which are also the severe challenges to designers. We proposed the idea of building the sky town to solve these problems, which can be summarized in two sentences, one is tall building multi-storised, and another one is vertical facilities municipal-infrastructurised. The tall building can be horizontally cut into several multi-storey buildings by some large platforms. The platform extends a certain width to block the fire from spreading. Tall buildings are connected together as a group. One of them is a traffic core, which is used for vertical transportation and MEP. It connects to traffic center such as metro, while most of the other tall buildings' cores can be very much released, so as to achieve maximum efficiency of floor usable area and to give good traffic organization. By combining traffic core, platforms, and multi-storey buildings' inner traffic, a transportation network is formed. Finally, we refer to the design of Raffles City Chongqing to make a sketch of sky town.

  • In the present paper, the hydrodynamics properties of a Rahmen type flexible porous breakwater with dual fixed-pontoon system interacting with obliquely or normally incident small amplitude waves are numerically investigated. This system is composed of dual vertical porous membranes hinged a the side edges of dual fixed pontoons, and a submerged horizontal membrane that both ends are hinged at the steel frames mounted pontoons. The dual vertical membranes are extended downward and hinged at bottom steal frame fixed into seabed. The wave blocking and dissipation mechanism and its effects of permeability, Rahmen type membrane and pontoon geometry, pre-tensions on membranes, relative dimensionless wave number, and incident wave headings are thoroughly examined.

  • The vertical irregularities occurred in the structure may lessen the overall seismic capacity of the structure. Seismic capacity evaluation guidelines (e.g. FEMA 175, ATC-14) propose the criterion for the vertical irregularities of mass, stiffness and strength respectively. But, the criterion seems groundless and leads us to make a true/false decision only. This study is to draw a reasonable basis on which multi-level grading is possible based fur the evaluation of existing buildings. Time history analysis for 3-,5-, and 10-story steel frame structures has been performed using several earthquake data. ANN (Artificial Neural Network) is introduced to find the relative contribution factor of the irregularities along the irregular position. Also, the application system fur the seismic capacity evaluation can be established using the trained ANN.

Effect of seismic design level on safety against progressive collapse of concentrically braced frames

  • In this research the effect of seismic design level as a practical approach for progressive collapse mitigation and reaching desired structural safety against it in seismically designed concentric braced frame buildings was investigated. It was achieved by performing preliminary and advanced progressive collapse analysis of several split-X braced frame buildings, designed for each seismic zone according to UBC 97 and by applying various Seismic Load Factors (SLFs). The outer frames of such structures were studied for collapse progression while losing one column and connected brace in the first story. Preliminary analysis results showed the necessity of performing advanced element loss analysis, consisting of Vertical Incremental Dynamic Analysis (VIDA) and Performance-Based Analysis (PBA), in order to compute the progressive collapse safety of the structures while increasing SLF for each seismic zone. In addition, by sensitivity analysis it became possible to introduce the equation of structural safety against progressive collapse for concentrically braced frames as a function of SLF for each seismic zone. Finally, the equation of progressive collapse safety as a function of bracing member capacity was presented.

  • Dynamic behavior of high speed train is very important because the high speed train should be safe and satisfied with the ride comfort. An eddy current brake system is mounted on trailer bogie and wheelset. The eddy current braking force longitudinally exerts on the articulated trailer bogie and the attraction force vertically exerts on the wheelset. Because a frame of eddy current brake system is flexible, these forces generate the vertical vibration at middle point of the frame. Also, the vibration change the vertical clearance between an electromagnet and top of rail which affect the magnitude of braking and attracting forces. Therefore, the dynamic behavior of the eddy current braking system must be predicted for design the dynamic characteristic of its mounting system when normally operate on rail which have irregularity. Vampire program is used for prediction of the dynamic behavior of an eddy current braking system. Five design variables and five performance index are considered for optimization through D-optimal experimental design in this paper. Also model center is used to search the optimal point for sum of performance index with variational matric method.

악안면 형태에 관한 두부방사선계측학적 연구 (A ROENTGENOCEPHALOMETRIC STUDY ON MAXILLOFACIAL MORPHOLOGY)

  • To recognize the problems in malocclusion by roentgenocephalograms, the author designed a new pentagonal frame based on maxillary and mandibular bones. The subjects consisted of 44 normal occlusions (20 male and 24 female), 44 Class II division 1 malocclusions (15 male and 29 female) and 67 Class III malocclusions (31 male and 36 female). The results are as follows; 1. In normal group, the maxillary and mandibular skeletons of female we placed more closely to FH plane, so more anteriorly and upward than those of male. 2. In normal group, the posterior vertical height is longer in male than in female and the upper anterior teeth of female are in more labioversion than those of male. 3. By the X, Y coordinate values in pentagonal frame, it is helpful to recognize certain problems in malocclusions. 4. The posterior vertical height is a good indicator in detecting Angle's Class III malocclusion. 5. The maxillary and mandibular body length, the anterior point of maxillary and mandibular body length and the axial inclination of upper and lower anterior teeth can be useful in discerning Angle's Class II & Class III malocclusion.

  • There are still some key problems having to be solved in theory and technique applications when GPS is used to monitor the vertical deformation of ground with high precision. Utilizing the GPS technology to monitor the deformation of the land subsidence and ground fissure in Xi'an, this paper puts forward advice that the datum frame of GPS network has significant influence on the precision and accuracy of the vertical deformation results by some research. The co-authors make some theoretical study of the datum error and practice by establishing the datum error models, especially the influence of scale and azimuth datum errors on GPS monitoring network. Then the datum frame design methods and arithmetic of GPS monitoring network are presented and have taken a good effect.

  • This study is about offering quantitatively analytic frame of streetscape, and also about making a way to be standardized and adapt changing landscape. This allows us to manage a form of elevation map after the application to GIS. The form of elevation map is a visible and vertical arrangement method of data recognizable while walking or driving. Applying measurable traits enables us to make a quantitative control over each element of which streetscape consists. After all, it would play a great roll in organizing and maintaining fine streetscape of each city. As the basic ways to make the elevation map, this study proposes the methods of providing quantitative analytic frame of streetscape after applying elevation data, Raster Data and Vector Data, which were investigated on the basis of GIS. In addition, as a simulation for increasing reality, certain streets, where the streetscape is very important, were chosen so that they enable us to utilize quantitatively analytic data of streetscape with analyzing the +degree of opening ratio in the boundary of D/H=2, comparing between wall area and windowpane area, comparing between facade area and sign board area, and calculating both area and ratio which are applied to ecospace.

  • Electrical instruments and devices contained in cabinets for controlling nuclear power plants require seismic qualification; likewise, in-cabinet response spectrum (ICRS) is necessary. Gupta et al. (1999) suggested the Ritz method, where rocking, frame bending, and plate bending behaviors of cabinets are considered, as a method for determining ICRS. This research proposes a method to determine the rocking stiffness of cabinets, which represents its rocking behavior. The cabinet is fixed on mounting frames and is connected to the base concrete by anchors. When horizontal excitation is applied to the cabinet, the mounting frames at anchors are locally deformed, the mounting frames are bent, and then rocking in the cabinet becomes evident. A method to determine equivalent vertical spring stiffness representing the local deformation of the mounting frames at anchors is then proposed. Subsequently, the rocking stiffness of this mounting frame is calculated upon assumption of the mounting frame as an indeterminate beam.
