  • Due to recent improvements in computer processing speed and image processing technology, researches are being actively carried out to combine information from camera with existing GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) and dead reckoning. In this study, developed a vision-based positioning assistant algorithm to estimate the distance to the object from stereo images. In addition, GNSS/on-board vehicle sensor/vision based positioning algorithm is developed by combining vision based positioning algorithm with existing positioning algorithm. For the performance analysis, the velocity calculated from the actual driving test was used for the navigation solution correction, simulation tests were performed to analyse the effects of velocity precision. As a result of analysis, it is confirmed that about 4% of position accuracy is improved when vision information is added compared to existing GNSS/on-board based positioning algorithm.

  • Recently The automotive industry is trying to increase the energy efficiency by reducing the weight of the car body and engine components as a way to achieve high energy efficiency. In particular, the reduction of the weight of the vehicle through the weight reduction of the vehicle body has the advantage that the fuel consumption and the output can be improved. But at the same time, there is the disadvantage that the strength becomes weak due to the reduction of the material thickness. Therefore, in order to overcome these disadvantages, materials with high strength according to the unit thickness have been actively developed, and researches for applying them have also been increasing. In this study, we will investigate the application of cold rolled steel sheet, which is a lightweight material, to a horn bracket that secures a installed in an automobile engine room. The horn bracket secures the horn on the car engine and is bolted to the outer wall of the engine. The momentum is acted on the bracket due to the distance between the bolt fastening part and the car horn installed on the bracket end side. Therefore, the body part of the bracket is more likely to be destroyed by the influence of the continuous stress. In this paper, design optimization for weight reduction and strength enhancement was performed to solve this problem, and possibility of applying the rolled steel sheet material as lightweight material by tensile test and fabrication was confirmed.

  • As the market for portable electronic devices expands, the demand for Lithium Ion Battery (LIB) is also increasing. LIB has higher efficiency than other secondary batteries, but there is a risk of explosion / fire due to thermal runaway reaction. Especially, Electric Vehicles (EV) equipped with a large capacity LIB cell also has a danger due to a large amount of toxic gas generated by a fire. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the risk of toxic gas generated by EV fire to minimize accident damage. In this study, the flow of toxic gas generated by EV fire was numerically analyzed using Computational Fluid Dynamic. Scenarios were established based on literature data and EV data to confirm the effect distance according to time and exposure standard. The purpose of this study is to analyze the risk of toxic gas caused by EV fire and to help minimize the loss of life and property caused by accidents.

  • The 3-coil magnetic resonance wireless power transmission system was analyzed using an equivalent circuit model, and the |S21| of the system was expressed as the equation of the Q of the three coils, the coupling coefficient k between the transmitting coil and the relay coil, the relay coil and the receiving coil. It is suggested that the maximum efficiency can be obtained when the relay coil is located in the center of the transmitting and the receiving coil. When the distance between the transmitting and the receiving coil is 30 cm and the two coils are aligned, maximum efficiency of 9 % is obtained with the relay coil centered between the coils. If the transmitting coil and the receiving coil are misaligned during a wireless charging of an electric vehicle, the efficiency is expected to decrease significantly compared to the aligned case. It is expected that the efficiency can be increased by using a relay coil and by rotating the coil.

  • Individual passenger transfer information is not included in Seoul metropolitan subway Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) data. Currently, basic data such as travel time and distance are allocated based on the TagIn terminal ID data records of AFC data. As such, knowledge of the actual path taken by passengers is constrained by the fact that transfers are not applied, resulting in overestimation of the transport index. This research proposes a method by which a transit path that connects the TagIn and TagOut terminal IDs in AFC data is determined and applied to the transit index. The method embodies the concept that a passenger's line of travel also accounts for transfers, and can be applied to the transit index. The path selection model for the passenger calculates the line of transit based on travel time minimization, with in-vehicle time, transfer walking time, and vehicle intervals all incorporated into the travel time. Since the proposed method can take into account estimated passenger movement trajectories, transport-related data of each subway organization included in the trajectories can be accurately explained. The research results in a calculation of 1.47 times the values recorded, and this can be evaluated directly in its ability to better represent the transportation policy index.

  • When VNDN technology is used as a communication technology for infotainment application services of connected vehicles, it is possible to realize data-centric networking technology in which data is the subject of communication.Vehicle security attacks and hacks, performance degradation during long-distance data transmission, and frequent data loss It is possible to innovate the limitations of the current host-oriented Internet-based infotainment application service technology of connected vehicles. The data packet forwarding issue to deliver critical information data that is very sensitive to delay in the VNDN on a push-based basis to RSU (Road Side Unit), etc. is one of the issues to be solved for realizing VNDN-based application services. We comprehensively analyze existing forwarding techniques to support push-based data traffic under the environment, and compare and analyze each technique in terms of performance.

  • This study explored an approach to estimate a flow-density diagram(FD) on a link in highway traffic environment by utilizing probe vehicles' time headway records. To study empirical flow-density diagram(EFD), the probe vehicles with vision sensors were recruited for collecting driving records for nine months and the vision sensor data pre-processing and GIS-based map matching were implemented. Then, we examined the new EFDs to evaluate validity with reference diagrams which is derived from loop detection traffic data. The probability distributions of time headway and distance headway as well as standard deviation of flow and density were utilized in examination. As a result, it turned out that the main factors for estimation errors are the limited number of probe vehicles and bias of flow status. We finally suggest a method to improve the accuracy of EFD model.

  • In the case of an unmanned aerial vehicle using a battery as a power source, there are restrictions in performing the mission because the battery capacity is limited. To extend the mission capability, it is important to minimize battery usage while the flight to the mission area. In addition, by using the battery usage prediction model, the possibility of mission completeness can be determined and it can be a criterion for selecting an emergent landing point in the mission planning stage. In this paper, we propose a battery usage prediction model considering as one of the environmental factors in the three-dimensional space. The required power is calculated according to the flight geometry of an unmanned aerial vehicle. True battery usage which is predicted from the required power is verified through the comparison with the battery usage prediction model. The optimal flight trajectory that minimizes battery usage is produced and compared with the shortest travel distance.

  • This paper proposes RIDS (Random Forest-Based Intrusion Detection), which is an intrusion detection system to detect hacking attack based on random forest. RIDS detects three typical attacks i.e. DoS (Denial of service) attack, fuzzing attack, and spoofing attack. It detects hacking attack based on four parameters, i.e. time interval between data frames, its deviation, Hamming distance between payloads, and its diviation. RIDS was designed in memory-centric architecture and node information is stored in memories. It was designed in scalable architecture where DoS attack, fuzzing attack, and spoofing attack can be all detected by adjusting number and depth of trees. Simulation results show that RIDS has 0.9835 accuracy and 0.9545 F1 score and it can detect three attack types effectively.
