  • This study was carried out to survey the flora of the vascular plants of Ulleungdo Island. Fieldwork related to the study was carried out 55 times from 2007 to 2011. The results of the study showed that the flora of Ulleungdo Island consisted of a total of 494 taxa, with 93 families, 313 genera, 462 species, 6 subspecies, 52 varieties and 4 formas. Among the collected plants, there were 9 taxa of critically endangered species (CR), 6 taxa of endangered species (EN) and 12 taxa of vulnerable species (VU). Furthermore, protected species and those of floristic regional plants above degree III according to the Korean Ministry of Environment included 4 taxa and 72 taxa, respectively. • There are 474 species of native vascular plant distributed in offshore islands in Shandong Province, which belong to 262 genera and 82 families. The distribution types of genera of seed plant were classified into 15 types. Temperate characteristic is dominant in the flora of offshore islands and tropical characteristic ranks secondary. Therefore, some islands play the role of stepping islands. Furthermore, 98.85% of the total genera are monotypic or bitypic which shows the offshore habitat heterogeneity in Shandong Province.

  • Southwest Primorye is located in the southern most part of the Russian Far East. The flora of this area is one of the most thoroughly studied and contains 1,530 species of vascular plants, belonging to 622 genera and 154 families, representing 55.6% of the flora of the Primorsky Territory. The flora native to Southwest Primorye encompasses 1,356 species from 547 genera and 148 families. Adventitious plants are represented by 174 species from 127 genera and 37 families. Among other areas of the Russian Far East, only Southwest Primorye has flora in common with the Korean Peninsula, which contains plant species in the subtropical and tropical latitudes: Mitrasacme indica Wight, Halosciastrum melanotilingia [Boissieu] M. Pimen. et V. Tichomirov, Streptolirion volubile Edgew., Lipocarpha microcephala [R. Br.] Kunth, Pueraria lobata [Willd.] Ohwi, Belamcanda chinensis [L.] DC., Zoysia japonica Steud., Deinostema violacea [Maxim.] Yamazaki and Parthenocissus tricuspidata [Siebold et Zucc.] Planch. Most of the flora is represented by the species restricted to Southwest Primorye (seven endemic species) or the Korean Peninsula (seven hemiendemic species). A total of 50.2% of the 10 largest families are nemoral (preboreal) floras, located in the transitional zone of the boreal and nemoral floras. In terms of the structure of the ranked taxonomic spectrum of the largest families, the flora of Southwest Primorye is more similar to that of Northeast China with influence of the Korean flora.

  • This study aims to investigate the distribution of the useful resources plants and the flora of Deogyusan. The flora of Deogyusan was investigated from April in 2002 to November in 2003. Vascular plants of this area consist of total 549 taxa; 9 forma, 64 varieties, 476 species, 281 genera, 90 families. It corresponds to $13.5\%$ of totally 4,071 taxa appeared in Korea. Useful plants of this area were investigated 399 taxa. It corresponds to $72.5\%$ of collected plants in this area under our study. Among the useful plants, there are 205 taxa of edible source, 179 taxa of pasture source, 159 taxa of medicinal source, 70 taxa of ornamental source, 15 taxa of timber, and 17 taxa of industrial raw materials. Korean endemic plants were composed 18 families, 23 genera, 19 species, 4 varieties and totaling 25 taxa.

  • This study was performed to investigate the flora and plant resources of Mt. Gamak (537.8 m) from April to October 2007. The collected vascular plants were composed of all 478 taxa including cultivated species, and classified into 410 species, 3 subspecies, 61 varieties, and 4 forms of 284 genera under 94 families. Six taxa of the Korean endemic plants and 4 taxa of the rare and endangered plants were also distributed in this mount. Resource plants were categorized into edible 222, pasturing 208, medicinal 183, stainable 134, ornamental 96, timber 20, fiber 6 and industrial 4 taxa, respectively. Floristic geography of the investigated area was regarded as the boundary between middle parts in floristic pattern of the Korean Peninsula.

  • This study presents the flora of vascular plants on Oenarodo Island, located in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, Korea. A list of vascular plants was created based on the herbarium of the National Biological Resource Center (NIBR) and the Daejeon University Biology Department herbarium (TUT) collected from field surveys. Based on specimens collected in the field during 21 separate field trips amounting to a total of 21 days conducted between March of 2015 and October of 2017, there are 587 taxa on Oenarodo Island, consisting of 122 families, 364 genera, 538 species, six subspecies, 41 varieties, and two forms. Among the collected plants, those endangered were four taxa, those endemic were 14 taxa, floristic regional indicator plants specially designated by the Ministry of the Environment amounted to 137 taxa, and those naturalized amounted to 46 taxa.

  • To identify the flora of the vascular plant on Chujado Island in Chuja-myeon, Jeju-si, Jeju Province, Korea, eleven field surveys were conducted between April to September of 2013 and from May to September of 2018. The results of the surveys identified 558 taxa, with 97 families, 311 genera, 481 species, two subspecies, 65 varieties, and ten forms of vascular plants on Chujado Island. Of the 558 taxa identified, seven were endemic species and eight were rare plants according to the Korea Forest Service. Furthermore, 109 of the taxa identified were from floristic environments, while 62 were considered to be naturalized plants, with three of these considered to be invasive and causes of ecosystem disturbances. The highest degree of similarity among the plants from seven sites adjacent to Chujado Island was found on Saengil Island, at 51.7%.
