불변 및 가변 종속거리를 갖는 루프의 병렬처리를 위한 새로운 동기화 기법 (A New Synchronization Scheme for Parallel Processing of Loop with Constant and Variable Dependence Distance)

  • In most application programs, loops usually comprise most of the computation in a program and are the most important source of parallelism. When loops are executed on multiprocessors, the cross iteration data dependences need to be enforced by synchronization between processors. Existing synchronization schemes have been studied mainly on the loop with constant dependence distance. When these schemes are applied to the loop with variable dependence distance, there exists lots of overhead by the use of unnecessary synchronization variables and execution of unuseful synchronization instructions. Even though there exist various variable synchronization schemes, they have a lot of run-time overhead to compute synchronization information. In this paper, we present a new synchronization scheme, Synch-Free/Synch-Hold for managing synchronization efficiently on the loop with constant and variable dependence distance.

  • 고품질의 액정디스플레이를 개발하는데 있어서 제일 중요한 기술은 빛을 반사하는 망점의 균일한 분포를 갖는 도광판(BLU)을 만드는 것이다. 망점의 균일한 분포는 연속계조 영상을 이진영상으로 해프토닝하는 방법을 통해 만들고 있다. 여러 해프토닝 방법들 중에서 주거리 기반의 오차확산 기법이 균일한 망점의 분포를 보여주고 있다. 그러나 이 방법은 각 화소의 주거리 범위가 주위 하소의 주거리와 겹치거나 틈이 많이 벌어지는 문제가 발생하게 된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 주거리 기반의 오차 확산 방법을 개선한 가변적 주거리 기반의 오차 확산 방법을 제안한다. 해당 화소 및 주변 화소의 주거리를 활용한 가변적 주거리를 정의하며 주거리는 방향에 따라 다른 값을 가지게 된다. 이 가변적 주거리 알고리즘은 망점들 간의 간격에 대한 고른 분포를 얻을 수 있게 되었다.

지가와 주거환경요소의 상관성에 관한 연구 - 부산광역시 해운대구, 수영구를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Correlativity Between Land Price and Residental Environment Elements - Focusing on the Haeundae-Gu and Suyoung-Gu in Busan City -)

  • 본 연구에서는 부산시의 대표적인 주거지역이면서 워터프런트지역을 포함하고 발전해 온 수영구와 해운대구를 중심으로 지가와 주거환경요소의 상관성 및 주거환경요소가 지가에 미치는 영향을 고찰해 보고자 했다. 이를 위해 지가를 종속변수로 하고 주거환경요소를 설명변수로 하여 상관분석 및 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 먼저 지가와 각 변수간의 상관성을 보면 모든 대상지역에서 토지이용과 간선도로와의 거리, 지하철역까지의 거리가 공통적으로 지가와 상관성이 높은 변수로 밝혀졌고, 회귀분석을 통해 각 변수별 설명력을 알아본 후 지가에 대한 변수의 설명력이 높은 순으로 누적 설명력을 살펴본 결과 7개의 변수로 수영구는 67%, 해운대구는 50.5%의 설명력이 있는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 본 연구에서 특히 관심을 가지고 설정해 본 해안까지의 거리변수는 지가와 상관분석 결과 모든 대상지역에서 그다지 상관성이 높지 않았으며, 회귀분석 결과에서도 각 지역별로 6.4%~7.6%의 설명력을 갖는 것으로 밝혀져 지가를 설명하는 변수로서 중요도도 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

가변 제한속도 표지판 크기기준 정립을 위한 안개재현 현장실험 (Fog Generated Field Test for Criteria of Sign Size of Variable Speed Limit Signs)

  • OBJECTIVES : A fog generated field test was conducted to analyze the relationship between different sizes of variable speed limit signs and the legibility distance under various fog density conditions. By using this study, appropriate sizes of signs can be selected depending on the density of fog. METHODS : An actual tunnel was selected as the area for this test, as other places cannot maintain the fog condition because of rapid air current. A total 121 subjects were recruited for this test, which took place over the course of four days. The test on the first day was conducted under normal weather conditions for comparison. Visibility-distance detecting sensor was used to measure the visibility distance due to the fog density time, simultaneously with the evaluation of legibility distance by subjects. RESULTS : The test results show the relationship between the different sizes of signs and the legibility distance corresponding to the visibility distance due to both non-fog and fog generated conditions. According to the technical test results, appreciable amount of reduction in legibility distance due to fog was resulted in all sizes of signs. Moreover, the legibility distance is reduced proportionately with the decrease in the visibility distance due to fog. CONCLUSIONS : The results of this study can be used to select appropriate sizes of valuable speed signs under fog conditions. Hence, drivers can expect to have more room to respond to adverse weather conditions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.

Wasserstein 거리를 이용한 연속형 변수 이산화 기법 (Discretization Method for Continuous Data using Wasserstein Distance)

  • 연속형 변수의 이산화(Discretization)는 양적 변수(Quantitative variable)를 질적 변수(Qualitative variable)로 변형시켜 데이터 마이닝(Data mining) 기법 등 다양한 알고리즘의 성능을 향상시키는데 사용 목적이 있다. 데이터에 적절한 이산화 기법을 사용한다면 분류 알고리즘에 대해 더 좋은 성능뿐 아니라 간결한 결과 해석, 속도 향상까지 기대할 수 있다. 현재까지 다양한 이산화 기법들이 연구되었으며, 현재도 이산화와 관련한 연구에 수요가 많다. 본 논문은 데이터의 클래스에 대한 연속형 변수 값의 분포를 고려하여, Wasserstein 거리를 이용해 분할점을 자동 설정하는 이산화 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법과 우수함이 입증된 기존의 이산화 기법에 대해 성능비교를 통해 제안 기법의 우수성을 보인다.

가변속도형 표지 휘도기준 정립을 위한 안개재현 현장실험 (Fog Generated Field Test for Luminance Criteria of Variable Speed-Limit Signs)

  • OBJECTIVES : A fog generated field test was conducted to analyze the relationship between the luminance of variable speed-limit signs and the legibility distance under various fog density conditions. By using this study, appropriate luminance values can be selected depending on the density of fog. METHODS : An actual tunnel was selected as the area to conduct the test, as other places cannot maintain the fog condition because of rapid air current. Ninety-two subjects were recruited for this test, which took place during the course of three days. Visibility-distance detecting sensor was used to measure the visibility distance due to the fog density time, simultaneously with the evaluation of legibility distance by subjects. RESULTS : The test results show the relationship between luminance values and the legibility distance corresponding to the visibility distance due to fog. According to the technical test results, lower luminance value such as $7000cd/m^2$ corresponds to less legibility distance compared to higher values such as $20000cd/m^2$ or $40000cd/m^2$. However, the amount of difference between $20000cd/m^2$ and $40000cd/m^2$ is negligible in our test. CONCLUSIONS : The results of this study can be used to select appropriate luminance of valuable speed signs under fog conditions. Hence, drivers can expect to have more room to respond to adverse weather conditions, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.

Variable Selection and Outlier Detection for Automated K-means Clustering

  • An important problem in cluster analysis is the selection of variables that define cluster structure that also eliminate noisy variables that mask cluster structure; in addition, outlier detection is a fundamental task for cluster analysis. Here we provide an automated K-means clustering process combined with variable selection and outlier identification. The Automated K-means clustering procedure consists of three processes: (i) automatically calculating the cluster number and initial cluster center whenever a new variable is added, (ii) identifying outliers for each cluster depending on used variables, (iii) selecting variables defining cluster structure in a forward manner. To select variables, we applied VS-KM (variable-selection heuristic for K-means clustering) procedure (Brusco and Cradit, 2001). To identify outliers, we used a hybrid approach combining a clustering based approach and distance based approach. Simulation results indicate that the proposed automated K-means clustering procedure is effective to select variables and identify outliers. QAM 신호에서 Distance Adjusted Approach를 이용한 VSCA와 VSDA 적응 등화 알고리즘의 성능 비교 (A Performance Comparison of VSCA and VSDA Adaptive Equalization Algorithm using Distance Adjusted Approach in QAM Signal)

  • 본 논문은 16-QAM 신호 전송시 시분산 채널에서 발생되는 부호간 간섭을 줄이기 위해 사용되는 적응 등화알고리즘인 VSCA (Variable stepsize Square Contour Algorithm)와 VSDA (Variable stepsize Square contour Decision directed Algorithm)의 성능 비교에 관한 것이다. SCA 에서는 송신 신호의 2차 통계치인 Constellation Dependent Constant를 이용하여 수신 신호의 진폭과 위상을 보상하지만, 이들 VSCA와 VSDA에서는 constellation matching을 위한 distance adjusted approach 개념을 이용한 step size를 변화시켜 적응 등화 성능을 더욱 개선시킨 것이다. 논문에서는 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 VSCA와 VSDA의 성능을 비교하였으며, 이를 위한 성능 지수로는 등화기 출력 신호 성상도, 잔류 isi양, 최대 찌그러짐 및 MSE를 사용하였다. 이들 알고리즘의 성능 비교 결과 모든 비교지수에서 VSCA 알고리즘이 VSDA보다 우월함을 확인하였다.

Hopfield Network를 이용한 이종 부품 결합의 최적화 알고리즘 (Optimal Connection Algorithm of Two Kinds of Parts to Pairs using Hopfield Network)

  • In this paper, we propose an optimal algorithm for finding the shortest connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. If total part numbers are of size N, then there are order 2ㆍ(N/2)$^{N}$ possible solutions, of which we want the one that minimizes the energy function. The appropriate dynamic rule and parameters used in network are proposed by a new energy function which is minimized when 3-constraints are satisfied. This dynamic nile has three important parameters, an enhancement variable connected to pairs, a normalized distance term and a time variable. The enhancement variable connected to pairs have to a perfect connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. The normalized distance term get rids of a unstable states caused by the change of total part numbers. And the time variable removes the un-optimal connection in the case of distance constraint and the wrong or not connection of two kinds of parts to pairs. First of all, we review the theoretical basis for Hopfield model and present a new energy function. Then, the connection matrix and the offset bias created by a new energy function and used in dynamic nile are shown. Finally, we show examples through computer simulation with 20, 30 and 40 parts and discuss the stability and feasibility of the resultant solutions for the proposed connection algorithm.m.

지하철 건설에 따른 공간적 영향 분석 - 서울 지하철 7호선의 아파트가격에 미친 영향을 중심으로 - (Analysis Of Spatial Impact With Seoul Subway Line 7 Construction)

  • In order to account for a price variation of apartment that places near a newly constructed subway station, a spatial hedonic model was developed to examine spacial characteristics that affect a purchasing price of an apartment using a White Estimator. In particular, the paper aims to examine various effects of subway 7 construction on an apartment price in Seoul Metropolitan Area. As explanatory variables, an apartment size, distance to a closest subway station, distance to the Central Business District (CBD) of Seoul, the number of years after building, and a lagged variable of the apartment purchasing price were used. The lagged variable plays a role of representing a spatial weighted average of previous prices of other apartments that locate within 3 km from the apartment. For a precise study, an entire sample was divided into two sets, southern area and southwestern area of Seoul, and two different spatial hedonic models were estimated. Not only before and after analysis, but also with and without analysis were conducted to compare with different effects of the spatial characteristics of two areas. The results show that before the construction of the subway 7, the prices of the apartments in the southern area were more sensitive to the apartment size, the distance to a closest subway station, the distance to the CBD, and the prices of the other apartments locating within 3km rather than those in the southwestern area. After the construction, on contrast, it is found that the apartment purchasing prices in the southwestern area are more sensitive than those in the southern area due to people's expectation regarding a new development around the subway station. In addition, the prices of the apartments locating closely with a transfer station are more likely to go up by increase in the apartment size, the distance to the station, and the prices of the other apartments within 3 km. Compared with the negative effects of the distance to the station on the prices in the other models, the positive effect of the distance to the transfer station might be caused by the characteristics of commercial area in which people are not likely to live.
