A multivariate latent class profile analysis for longitudinal data with a latent group variable

  • In research on behavioral studies, significant attention has been paid to the stage-sequential process for multiple latent class variables. We now explore the stage-sequential process of multiple latent class variables using the multivariate latent class profile analysis (MLCPA). A latent profile variable, representing the stage-sequential process in MLCPA, is formed by a set of repeatedly measured categorical response variables. This paper proposes the extended MLCPA in order to explain an association between the latent profile variable and the latent group variable as a form of a two-dimensional contingency table. We applied the extended MLCPA to the National Longitudinal Survey on Youth 1997 (NLSY97) data to investigate the association between of developmental progression of depression and substance use behaviors among adolescents who experienced Authoritarian parental styles in their youth.

도시가계의 사교육비 지출규모의 결정요인 -일반계 고등학생의 과외사교육비를 중심으로- (Factors Which Determine the Amount of Private Educational Expenditures of urban Households in Korea: With Special Reference to Extra-class Private Educational Expenditures of General High School Students)

  • Relationships between socio-demographic variables and parents' education invest-ment motivation variables and extra-class private education expenditures were examined using a sample of 602 households in Inchon Korea. Tobit analysis was used. Singal-cognitive motivation parents' duty motivation household income housing asset father's occupation class and number of children had significant effects on extra-class private education expenditures on general high school students. To alleviate overspending in extra-class private education diploma pursuing society has to be changed and formal school education need to be properly functioning. Finally parents seek new child education paradigm for the creative labor demand in the next millenium.

One-Class 서포트 벡터 머신을 이용한 레벨 셋 트리 생성 (Creating Level Set Trees Using One-Class Support Vector Machines)

  • 레벨 셋 트리는 다차원에 정의된 확률 밀도 함수를 표현하는데 유용하다. 복잡한 데이터의 구조를 트리 형태로 시각화하여 데이터의 형태를 효율적으로 파악할 수 있으며 클러스터링 분석에 효과적으로 이용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 미지의 확률 밀도 함수에서 생성된 데이터 샘플로부터 레벨 셋 트리를 생성하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 레벨을 0에서부터 무한대로 증가시키며 밀도 함수의 각 레벨 셋을 추정하고, 이로부터 레벨 셋 트리를 생성한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 one-class 서포트 벡터 머신 (OC-SVM)을 이용하여 직접적으로 레벨 셋을 추정한다. 이때 다양한 레벨 값에 대해 OC-SVM 학습을 반복해야 하는데, OC-SVM 솔루션 path 알고리즘을 통해 빠른 시간 안에 모든 레벨값에 해당하는 레벨 셋를 추정할 수 있다.

Effectiveness of the Invisalign Mandibular Advancement Appliance in Children with Class II Division 1 Malocclusion

  • Background: This study aimed to determine the skeletal and dental effects in pediatric and adolescent Korean patients with Class II Division 1 malocclusion treated using the Invisalign Mandibular Advancement (MA®) appliance. Methods: The study included patients aged 6 to 18 years who received orthodontic treatment with the MA® appliance for Class II Division 1 malocclusion at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Wonkwnag University Daejeon Dental Hospital, between July 1, 2018, and December 31, 2021. The treatment group consisted of 20 patients, 10 boys and 10 girls. The control participants were also 10 boys and 10 girls. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken before and after treatment, and 41 measurements of skeletal and dental changes were measured and analyzed using the V-CephTM 8.0 (Osstem Implant). All analyses were performed using SPSS software (IBM SPSS for Windows, ver 26.0; IBM Corp.), and statistical significance was tested using paired and independent samples t-tests for within-group and between-group comparisons, respectively. Results: The patients in the treatment group showed significant decreases in ANB (A point, Nasion, B point), maxillary protrusion, maxillary anterior incisor labial inclination, and maxillary protrusion after treatment. However, when compared with the growth changes observed in the control group, only ANB and maxillary protrusion decreased, with no significant differences in SNA, SNB, and mandibular length. Conclusion: Collectively, the results of this study confirm that the use of MA® appliance in pediatric and adolescent Korean patients with Class II Division 1 malocclusion results in a reduction of anteroposterior skeletal and dental disharmony.

설계기반연구방법에 기반한 초등학교 원어민 원격화상수업 설계 원리 (Design Principles for Videoconferencing Using an English Native Speaker Based on Design-Based Research)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 초등학교에서 실시되고 있는 원어민을 활용한 원격화상 영어수업 설계 원리를 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해 새롭게 부각되고 있는 설계기반연구(Design-Based Research) 방법을 적용하였다. 연구가 진행되는 3개월 동안, 수업동영상을 촬영하였고 수업이 끝난 후에는 한국교사와 원어민 교사로부터 성찰 일지를 수집하였으며 학생들을 대상으로 반구조화된 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 이러한 자료들을 토대로 원어민 활용 원격화상 영어수업의 과정을 수업 전, 수업 중, 수업 후의 3단계로 구분하여 수업이 진행되는 패턴, 오류 빈도, 상호작용성 등을 중심으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 교실의 한국 교사와 학습자, 원격지의 원어민 교사를 화상 시스템으로 이어주는 수업은 복잡하기 때문에 수업을 설계할 때 많은 부분들을 고려해야 하다.

모듈 클래스 종속 그래프를 이용한 객체지향 프로그램 슬라이싱에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Object-Oriented Program Slicing using Module Class Dependency Graph)

  • 본 논문에서는 클래스들간의 종속관계를 효율적으로 표현하기 위한 모듈클래스 종속그래프를 제안한다. 객체 지향언어는 설계시 독립적으로 개발되어지고, 클래스들간의 관계를 형성하여 구성되어진다. 따라서 이러한 독립적인 특성을 고려하고, 클래스 계층구조에 존재하는 클래스들간의 관계를 효율적으로 표현할 필요가 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 어플리케이션에 종속적인 기존의 시스템 종속그래프와 단위 클래스를 표현하는 클래스 종속그래프에서 제시되지 않고 있는 클래스들간의 관계를 표현하기 위해 객체지향시스템의 설계단위인 모듈의 개념을 이용하여 모듈클래스들 종속그래프를 제시하고, 객체지향의 특징인 객체의 생성자, 상속관계 및 동적 바인딩 효과를 적용시켜 효율성의 검증과 이를 절차간 슬라이싱에 적용시켜 슬라이싱의 관계를 고찰한다. 또한 모듈 클래스에 존재하는 클래스의 멤버데이터들간의 구별을 가능하게 하기 위한 파라메터의 표현법을 제시한다. 이러한 모듈클래스 종속 그래프를 통해 시스템 설계시 모듈 클래스간의 관계를 보다 정확하게 분석할 수 있고, 시스템 분석에 필요한 역공학, 테스팅, 시각화와 같은 다른 응용에 폭넓게 적용될 수 있다.

다중 클래스 SVMs를 이용한 얼굴 인식의 성능 개선 (The Performance Improvement of Face Recognition Using Multi-Class SVMs)

  • 기존의 다중 클래스 SVMs은 클래스의 개수가 증가되면, 이진 클래스 SVMs의 수도 증가되어 분류를 위해 많은 시간이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 분류 시간을 줄이기 위하여, PCA+LDA 특징 부 공간에서 NNR을 적용하여 클래스의 개수를 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 PCA+LDA 특징 부 공간에서 간단한 NNR을 사용하여, 입력된 테스트 특징 데이터와 근접된 얼굴 클래스들을 추출함으로서 얼굴 클래스의 개수를 줄이는 방법이다. 클래스 개수를 줄임으로, 본 방법은 기존의 다중 클래스 SVMs에 비하여 훈련 횟수와 비교 횟수를 줄일 수 있고, 결과적으로 하나의 테스트 영상을 위한 분류 시간을 크게 줄일 수 있다. 또한 실험 결과, 제안된 방법은 NNC 기법보다 낮은 에러 율을 가지며, 기존의 다중 클래스 SVMs보다 동일한 에러 율을 갖지만, 보다 빠른 분류시간을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

평가기준 활용을 통한 수준별 학습자료 구안.적용이 수학과 학력 신장에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Designing and Applying the Level-Based Learing Materials by Assessment Standards on the Achievement Enhancement of Mathematics Course)

  • As a result of carrying out t-test against the learning activity that used the learning materials designed by level, significant disparity was found. Thus, it was found that hte effect of this learning activity became more visible with lapse of time. But the major cause by which there appeared small significant disparity as a result of testing is that the units of experiment were limited and that the period of using the learning materials was not long. In an analysis on the results of interest test, the experimental class also appeared to show the average score that was higher than that of the comparative class by 0.10 after converting a decimal point. The outcome of attitude test was that the experimental class showed a higher average score by 0.11, as a result of converting a decimal point, than that of the comparative class. So, a large number of students showed an improved reaction. But, there seemed some problems of the learning materials or the method of progressing the activity in changing under achievement students or students who avoided studying math. When the effect of the level-based learning activity was investigated, more than 80% of the experimental class’s students showed a positive reaction. Thus, it could be judged that students, who felt some burden at studying math, might be served more largely, not by teacher’s uniform instruction, but by an individual learning using the level-based learning materials that enabled them to do a systematic self-learning for themselves.

태교관점 임부교실 참여 전후 임부 태아애착과 분만자신감의 변화 (Changes of Maternal-fetal Attachment and Self Efficacy for Delivery after the Taekyo-perspective Prenatal Class)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects on maternal-fetal attachment and self efficacy for delivery using the Taekyo-oriented prenatal class. This class is for 2 hours/week for 4 weeks. The program covers the contents of fetal growth and development including their responding ability, the importance of the uterine environment, sharing the motive and purpose of pregnancy, sharing experiences about pregnancy, sharing of prejudices against delivery, training of maternal-fetal interaction, understanding delivery, relaxation breathing techniques, maternity exercises, writing letters or prayers to the baby, and declaration of loving the baby. This study took place from March 4th to June 15th, 2000, in a university hospital and community care center, and was done by with a pretest-posttest design, with 55 pregnant women who were within 32-36 weeks pregnant and who agreed to participate in this study. Data was measured twice by self-report by the Cranley's Maternal-fetal Attachment Scale(MFAS, 1981), and the Shin's(1997) Self Efficacy for Delivery Scale at the beginning and at the completion of the class. Data was analyzed by SAS. The study results were: 1. The score of maternal-fetal attachment was significantly increased after the Taekyo perspective prenatal class than before the class. (t=7.389, p=0.000) 2. The score of self efficacy for delivery was significantly increased after the Taekyo perspective prenatal class than before the class. (t=8.885, p=0.000) The above results proved that the present Taekyo perspective prenatal education program was effective in increasing maternal-infant attachment and self efficacy for delivery. Therefore, it is concluded that the existing prenatal class should include Taekyo perspective elements. However, further study is needed to compare the effects with preexisted prenatal class.

Robustness in the Hierarchical Bayes Estimation of Normal Means

  • The paper considers the problem of robustness in hierarchical bayesian models. In specific we address Bayesian robustness in the estimation of normal means. We provide the ranges of the posterior means under $\varepsilon$-contamination class as well as the density ratio class of priors. For the class of priors that are uniform over a specified interval we investigate the sensitivity as to the choice of the intervals. The methods are illustrated using the famous baseball data of Efron and Morris(1975).
