미국 미조리지역 농촌주택의 부엌공간에 대한 거주자의 요구 분석 ( I ) (Users' Needs for the Kitchen Space in Missouri , U.S.)

  • The user's needs for the American kitchen space were studied. Especially the remodelings and the desirable changes of the rural kitchen space were examined. Pilot study was carried out by the field survey. Questionnaire with 16 open-end items had been collested bt mail in Missouris, U.S. Based on the qualitative analysis of data for 104 houses. main characteristics of users' needs for the kitchen space can be summerized as follows : 1) The residents had changed or updated materials and facilities, and had enlarged storage space to equip more cabinets. Kitchen space had been adapted to new facilities and appliances. 2) The users still wanted to have larger kitchen space, more storage space and newer floor materials. Through this study it can be concluded that users needed kitchen space to be convenient and wide enough to work.

여가활동의 감성적 반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on Emotional Response of Leisure Activity)

  • The role of emotional responses is an important subject of study in consumer behavior. Although the perceived performance and satisfaction related emotions have been studied with increasing quantities in leisure studies or fields of outdoor recreation and tourism, issues concerning the appropriate way to measure these emotional responses remains unresolved. This article reviews the emotion measuring scales, and testify the usefulness of PAD scale based upon 349 questionnaires by users of Phoenix Park(Ski Resort) and Seoul Land(Theme Park) in Korea. It was found that, users' emotional response was closely related with satisfaction in Phoenix Park(Ski Resort); however, users' perceived performance was closely related with satisfaction in Seoul Land (Theme Park). This article argues that the meanings of these findings is due to different characteristics of consumption typology between ski resort and theme park. In conclusion, users' emotional experience may be more useful in understanding skiing activities and in formulating management strategies for ski resorts than theme parks.

대학 독서실에서 발생하는 소음의 특성과 사용자 의식 분석 - C 대학교의 독서실을 대상으로 - (Characteristics of Interior Noise at University Reading Room and User's Consciousness on the Noise)

  • Reading room in the university is one of necessary facilities that university student must use. It is, therefore, very important to make reading room comfortable acoustically not only to minimize the annoyance to the users but also to provide efficiency in studying. Present study aims to investigate the current situation of reading room in terms of acoustics and moreover to find out the relationship between the indoor noise and users' satisfaction through questionnaire survey. As a result, the indoor noise level is quite higher than the 1st grade, 35 dB(A), that the Ministry of land, transport and maritime affairs suggests as certificate regulation for environment friendly building and there were lots of noise sources that can provoke users in studying or concentrating. Questionnaire survey illustrates that the sound when opening and closing door, and airborne sound from outdoor transmitted through window are most annoying, which affected users' dissatisfaction.

  • Recently, to draw the web users' attention and stay in the website for a long time to transmit information efficiently, the website designing is focused on providing emotional experience. Emotional experience is possible through the use of interactive storytelling and multimedia. Users immersion, pleasurable experience and synesthesia satisfaction is connected to the emotional experience due to the interaction operation and multimedia feedback. In this study, application of the parallax scrolling technique's possibility has been studied to induce the emotional experience of the web users that appeared in the technical development of the web. Realizing characteristics of the elements that effect emotional experience through web cases are studied and the possibility of effective emotional experience is proposed as using parallax scrolling technique on web.

판별분석을 통한 패밀리레스토랑의 고객 분류와 마케팅전략에 관한 연구 (A Multiple Discriminant Approach to Identifying Frequent Users of Eating out at Family Restaurant)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the behavioral, attitudinal, and demographic correlates of light, medium, and heavy users of eating out at family restaurants. Among 358 reponses from the subjects, 224 responses were utilized for the analysis, and 134 responses were reserved for validating the discriminant function. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, stepwise discriminant analysis, canonical discriminant analysis, and anova analysis were used for this study. The findings from this study were as follows: First, He behavioral characteristics were found to discriminate among the three usage groups. Second, it was found that heavy users expressed greater difference between perception and expectation on the quantity of food that are appropriately served and the consistent quality of food at every visit. Third, the usage rate of eating out was not dependent on the sex, but dependent on the companion, average expenditure, and the time of eating out in chi-square test. Finally, the results of the study provide some insight into the pattern of marketing strategies that can be successfully used by the managers of family restaurants.

CDMA 이동통신시스템에서 멀티미디어 트래픽의 요구 신호 전력 특성 (Characteristics of the Required Signal Power for Multimedia Traffic in CDMA Systems)

  • The reverse link signal power required for multimedia traffic in multipath faded single-code (SC-) and multi-code CDMA (MC-CDMA) systems is investigated. The effect of orthogonality loss among multiple spreading code channels is herein characterized by the orthogonality factor. The required signal power in both the CDMA systems is then analyzed in terms of the relative required signal power ratio of data to voice traffic. The effect of varying system parameters including spreading bandwidth, the of orthogonality factor, and the number of spreading codes are examined. Analytical results show that MC-CDMA users transmitting only a single traffic type require significantly more power than SC-CDMA users with only a single traffic type. On the other hand, MC-CDMA users transmitting multimedia traffic require power levels approximately identical to SC-CDMA users with multimedia traffic. The results can be used in the design of radio resource management (e.g., power allocation) scheme for wireless multimedia services.

A Multimedia Contents Recommendation for Mobile Web Users

  • As mobile market grows more and more fast, the mobile contents market, especially music contents for mobile phones have recorded remarkable growth. In spite of this rapid growth, mobile web users experience high levels of frustration to search the desired music. New musics are very profitable to the content providers, but the existing collaborative filtering (CF) system can't recommend them. To solve these problems, we propose an extended CF system to reflect the user's real preference by representing the characteristics of users and musics in the feature space. We represent the musics using the music contents based acoustic features in multi-dimensional feature space, and then select a neighborhood with the distance based function. Furthermore, this paper suggests a recommendation for procedure for new music by matching new music with other users' preference. The suggested procedure is explained step by step with an illustration example.

Social media comparative analysis based on multidimensional scaling

  • As social media draws attention as a business tool, organizations, large or small, are trying to exploit social media in their business. However, lack of understanding the characteristics of each social media led them to develop a naive strategy for dealing with social media. Thus, this study aims to deepen the understanding by comparatively analyzing how social media users perceive (the image of) each social media. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogs, Communities and Cyworld were chosen for our study and data from 132 respondents were analyzed using multidimensional scaling technique. The results show that there are meaningful differences in users' perception of social media attributes, which are grouped into four; information feature, motivation, promotion tool, usability. It is also analyzed whether such differences can be found between male and female users. (Such differences are also analyzed in both male and female users' perceptions.) Further, we discuss some implications of the research results for both practitioners and researchers.

  • It is necessary to correspond to building users' claims rapidly as much as possible in order to satisfy user's need, because the final tarket of building maintenance service is user of building. This paper investigates the time taken for receiving users' claims and the time taken for the service organization to respond to the claims in the office building; types of claims and service responses are analysed, through which the response characteristics of the maintenance management organization are evaluated with respect to users' claims. Throughout extensive simulation analysis, important performance measures such as mean time to repair and utilization of maintenance personnels have been investigated.

  • So far, the evaluation of machine translation has used a numerical approach, but there is evidence that it is not sufficient to reflect the characteristics or behavior of machine translation users(Hutchins, 2007; Wu et al., 2016; Park et al., 2013). Therefore, this study focused on the purpose of use and purchasing behavior of machine translation users. At this time, the indirect comparison method introduced by Morgan and Hunt(1994) was used to measure cognitive gaps and analyze the purchasing behavior of users. According to the analysis of association rules using cognitive gaps, the smaller the cognitive gap, the more positive the purchase behavior. In addition, procedural knowledge derived from language knowledge is activated in situations involving responsibility, and in routine situations, procedural knowledge trained from pragmatic knowledge works.
