Intelligent service robots leading the future market are robots which assist humans physically, mentally, and emotionally. Since intelligent service robots operate in a tightly coupled manner with humans, their safe operation should be an inevitable consideration. For this safety, real-time capabilities are necessary to execute certain services periodically. Currently, most robot components are being developed based on Windows for the sake of development convenience. However, since Windows does not support real-time, there is no option but to use expensive third-party software such as RTX and INTime. Also since most robot components are usually execute in user-level, we need to research how to support real-time in user-level. In this paper, we design and implement how to support real-time for components running in user-level on Windows using RTiK which actually supports real-time in kernel level on Windows.

With the introduction of BIM and ICT technology, 'Cloud-based collaborative design support system' has been actively researched and new user interface is needed to support it. When developing the user interface, scenario - based design method is selected which based on the actual usage scenarios to anticipate the usage situation and reflect the user's requirements. However, since the existing scenario-based design technique is an inductive method, it is difficult to cover the usage situation of all users when creating the usage scenario. For this reason, there is a need for a new scenario creation method that can systematically create and modify scenarios instead of inductive methods. This study proposes a 'Multi-scenario-based design method' that complemented the existing method and verify its usability by applying it to the user interface development process of 'Cloud-based collaborative design support system'.

Most Virtual Reality Systems have been developed to support only a single user on a stand-alone system. With increasing availability of Internet, many people are taking strong interests in distributed Virtual Reality : the virtual environment is shared by many paticipants interacting over the network. To support sharing virtual environment and interactions on a network, we developed novel contributions to 3D world description and a network model. Interactive 3D world description is based on VRML, which is extended to support multi-user interactions. Then network model in our system consists of an architecture and a set of protocols for realizing a multi-user interactive shared 3D environment in IP multicast environment.
Linux it self does not support real-time. To solve this problem RTiK-Linux was designed to support real-time in the kernel space. However, since the user space does not support real-time, it is not easy to develop application. In this paper, we designed and implemented a RTiK-middleware to support real-time in the user space. RTiK-middleware provides real-time scheduling for user space through signal request period after to register process information with request period using apis on application. To evaluate the performance of the proposed RTiK-middleware, we measured the periods of generated real-time threads using RDTSC instructions, and verified that RTiK-middleware operates correctly within the error ranges of 1ms.

Spectrum sensing, the key technology of the cognitive radio networks, is used by a secondary user to determine the frequency state of a primary user. The energy detection in the spectrum sensing determines the presence or absence of a primary user according to the intensity of the allocated channel signal. Since this technique simply uses the strength of the signal for spectrum sensing, it is difficult to detect the signal of a primary user in the low SNR band. In this paper, we propose a way to combine spectrum sensing and support vector machine using wavelet packet decomposition to overcome performance degradation in low SNR band. In our proposed scheme, the sensing signals were extracted by wavelet packet decomposition and then used as training data and test data for support vector machine. The simulation results of the proposed scheme are compared with the energy detection using the AUC of the ROC curve and the accuracy according to the SNR band. With simulation results, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme show better determining performance than one of energy detection in the low SNR band.

This paper proposes a user mobility management scheme which supports seamless service even if a user changes his accessing terminal in service in IP-based convergence network. Most of ongoing researches concerning mobility management as well as the existing mobility schemes have been focused to support terminal mobility. It is limited to support a variety of mobility types such as user mobility. The proposed scheme uses the mapping relationship between UID(User Identifier), user specific identifier and TID(Terminal Identifier), specific terminal identifier and forms packet address with user specific permanent 3 layer address for session continuity in case of user mobility. We numerically analyze and compare handover signaling cost between the existing user mobility scheme and the proposed scheme. The result shows that the proposed scheme has lower handover signaling cost than the existing one, [1].
Model-based decision support system (DSS) has acted as a crucial role in strengthening the business competitiveness by providing a way of modeling and solving real-world decision problems in a quantitative and scientific manner. It is even more important for trading OTC derivatives, which requires extensive financial-engineering expertise while actively reacting to the continuously changing financial market. This paper proposes a flexible model-based DSS architecture that can support user-friendly interface for executing and analyzing the models and can adapt to the changes of financial market seamlessly. For user-friendliness, we implement the user-interfaces (UIs) using Microsoft Excel, a very widely used spreadsheet program for its great generality and extensibility. Users can utilize the analysis results of DSS or reprocess them for their special needs through the UIs in the form of familiar spreadsheets easily. For adaptiveness to the markets, the proposed architecture is constructed based on the object-oriented concepts, which enables such changes as release of a new financial product can be updated into the system without any delay at the lowest cost. We investigate the practical benefits and limitations of the proposed architecture by a case study on the construction of Model-based Trading Support System (MTSS), performed by a commercial bank in Korea.
The goal of this paper is to examine the effects of a CDSS(Clinical Decision Support System) for drug prescription on organizational performance in medical institutions using POC(Point Of Care) systems. For achieving this goal, evaluation factors for influencing performance of information system were identified by using the performance evaluation model for CDSS. In the results, there was significant causality between each evaluation domain except system quality domain. In addition, the system quality of CDSS for optimal drug prescription has no influence on user satisfaction. But information quality has positive influence on user satisfaction which has also a positive influence on organizational performance.
This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.

The purpose of this paper is to develop a knowledge-based real-time decision support system to support decision makers for efficient berth operation of Inchon Port. In these days, the efficient berth operation has been many studied. The berth operation rules differ from port to port and the problem is highly dependent on natural, geographical and operational environment of port. In Inchon Port, the ship's entrance into port and departure from port is extremely affected by the status of dock and berth because of capacity restriction. First, we analyzed the specific characteristics of Inchon Port such as dock based on the data of 1997. And then, we construct the database of experts knowledge for berth utilization. Finally, we build the real-time decision support system for the efficient berth operation of Inchon Port to make the better berth allocation in case of not only regular scheduling but also dynamic scheduling such as delay in berth operation and exchange of ship between berths. The DSS is developed with graphic user interface(GUI) concept to help the user determining user interactive updating of the port status. Then this DSS will be provide decision maker with an efficient and fast way to berth allocation, and reduce wastes of time, space, and manpower in Inchon Port operation.
