LockPickFuzzer: Exploring Vulnerabilities in Android Lock Screen Mechanisms through ADB-Based Fuzzing (LockPickFuzzer: ADB 기반 퍼징 기법을 활용한 안드로이드 잠금 화면 메커니즘의 취약점 탐색)

  • Android devices employ lock screens with various authentication methods to protect user data. However, even with the lock screen active, the device can be accessed via the Android Debug Bridge(ADB), a powerful development tool that controls devices connected through USB. In this paper, we explore methods to bypass the lock screen security mechanism by leveraging the characteristics of ADB. To achieve this, we analyze ADB commands to categorize those that can severely impact the Android system and propose LockPickFuzzer, a fuzzing test tool that automatically explores ways to combine these commands to disable lock screen security. To demonstrate LockPickFuzzer's ability to detect security vulnerabilities using ADB, we conducted experiments on the Galaxy S23 and Pixel 8, both running Android 14. The results revealed two ADB command combinations that could either steal authentication information or bypass the lock screen. We submitted a report on these discovered vulnerabilities to the Samsung security team and received official acknowledgment (SVE-2023-1344) from Samsung Electronics for one ADB command combination that can be reproduced on user devices. LockPickFuzzer is a practical tool that operates automatically without user intervention and is expected to contribute to the effective detection of security vulnerabilities caused by ADB command combinations on Android devices.

  • This paper describes the control of a health care robot (called Welfare Liferobot) with voice commands. The welfare liferobot is an intelligent autonomous mobile robot with its own control system on-board and the set of sensors to perceive an environment. It is a natural way to control the welfare liferobot by use of voice command for the usage of keyboard and mouse may present a difficult problem to the elderly and the handicapped.   • In this paper, we describe TIGRIS Grid MPI Service, which is 4he WS-Resource Framework (WSRF) based services to enable an MPI job to be executed on Grid environments. It covers heterogeneous compute resources and diverse MPI libraries. The main functionalities are as follows. First, it allows an MPI user to seamlessly launch a job without knowing how to use the specific MPI library. Secondly, it executes an MPI job on the cross-site resources by supporting the Grid-enabled MPI library such as MPICH-G2. Thirdly, it enables the user to launch a job using the source code without compiling. The service is implemented on top of the services of Globus Toolkit. We provide the user interface as a web portal and CLI(Command Line Interface).

A Development of Motion Detection Based Serious Game "ChoDeungGangHo" for Physical Training

  • In this paper we propose a method to analyze user's motion as a game command, and implement a sports serious game applied the motion analysis method as a command interpreter. Recently, various contents platforms appear in industrial market, the computer game contents plays an important role in these emerging platforms as a killer contents. The computer game has enough values as an independent major cultural product, moreover it has the potential to be applied in various other fields such as education, healthcare, training, and so on. It could motivate users to do something continuously, and it could also support an immersive environment in a certain special game contents such as VR game. The Serious game 'ChoDeungGangHo', implemented in this paper, is the sensory healthcare serious game based on 3D run game and fitness game. It is designed for user to train the various exercise element by just playing the game, and it also supports the user management system and the linkage of social media. We proposes the sensory serious game 'ChoDeungGangHo' as a model of commercial serious game.

  • This paper deals with the design and the development of user interface for a high speed linear programming solving system. The general users' educational and practical requirements are analyzed and the functionalities that should be implemented for the requirements are designed. The user interface of the system consists of various carefully designed built-in commands that perform the functionalities. The names of the build-in commands are chosen to enhance the users' convenience. We also address the various factors that should be considered in the design of the linear programming solvers when integrated with the user interface. As one of user-friendly environments, data input system that can understand user-written arithmetic form is added to our user interface system. Finally, we compare our system with other user interface systems.

  • Input shaping is known to be a very effective tool for suppressing residual vibration without introducing any complicated sensors and feedback control. Real-time input shaping schemes necessitate a process such that the input command is discretized to deal with non-prescribed, real-time input. Thus parameters associated with input command discretization, such as time spacing and duration time, are unknowns which affect the performance of input shaping schemes, especially for small and fast XY stages. This paper investigates the effects of input command discretization parameters, such as time spacing and duration time, on the dynamic performance of XY stages subjected to real-time input shaping. An experimental system is developed which is equipped with an XY stage driven by servo-motors and real-time user command. Experiments are performed to investigate the dynamic performance of XY stage by changing these parameters and to yield a strategy to gain better performance.

  • Voice Command systems are important means of ensuring accessibility to digital devices for use in situations where both hands are not free or for people with disabilities. Interests in services using speech recognition technology have been increasing. In this study, we developed a mobile writing application using voice recognition and voice command technology which helps people create and edit documents easily. This application is characterized by the minimization of the touch on the screen and the writing of memo by voice. We have systematically designed a mode to distinguish voice writing and voice command so that the writing and execution system can be used simultaneously in one voice interface. It provides a shortcut function that can control the cursor by voice, which makes document editing as convenient as possible. This allows people to conveniently access writing applications by voice under both physical and environmental constraints.

  • Recently, market trends of auxiliary storage device HDD and SSD are interchangeable. In the future, the SSD is expected to be used more popular than HDD as an auxiliary storage device. The TRIM command technique has been proposed and used effectively due to the development of the SSD. The TRIM command techniques can be used to solve the problem of Freezing SSD that operating system cooperates with the SSD. The TRIM command techniques are performed in the idle time of the internal SSD that are actually deleted when a user deletes the data. However, in the point of view of computer forensics, the digital crime is increasing year by year due to lack of data recovery. Thus, this rate of arrest is insufficient. In this paper, I propose a solution that selectively manages data to delete based on advantage of the stability and the write speed of the TRIM command. Through experiments, It is verified by measuring the performance of the traditional method and selected method.

  • Many office tasks have been automated by using computers to increase task productivity. The productivity of performing office tasks is dependent not only upon automating the task procedures, but also upon the usability of user interfaces. However, the literature lacks human factors research on evaluating the usability of user interface styles when they are used for performing different office tasks. This study evalu- ated the usability of user interfaces styles when performing various office tasks. User interface styles considered include menu-selection, command language, form fill-in, iconic styles, etc. A task analysis was conducted toclassify representative office tasks. A variety of analysis techniques such as brainstorming, analytic hierarchy process, prototyping, and expert opinions were used to evaluate the usability of the interfaces. The analysis procedures and results are described along with guidelines for selecting user interfaces in terms of subjective preferences and performance measures.

  • Extraction of Finger-end points is one of the most process for user multi-commands in the Hand-Gesture interface technology. However, most of previous works use the geometric and morphological method for extracting a finger-end points. Therefore, this paper proposes the method of user finger-end points extraction that is motivated a ultrared diffused illumination, which is used for the user commands in the multi-touch display device. Proposed air-mouse is worked by the quantity state and moving direction of extracted finger-end points. Also, our system includes a basic mouse event, as well as the continuous command function for expending a user multi-gesture. In order to evaluate the performance of the our proposed method, after applying to the web browser application as a command device. As a result, the proposed method showed the average 90% success-rate for the various user-commands.
