  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of land-use and population change in rural area by new expressway. Chungbu expressway constructed in 1987, going through the south area of Kyunggi province from Seoul, was selected as a case expressway, and also 2 cities and 18 subdivisions of county in its surrounding area, as a case study area. To analyze the change characteristics before and after the construction, land-use maps of 1986 and 1996 were collected, including the census data for the years in cities and counties yearbooks. Remote sensing technology was applied to classify the land-use maps with six types of land use. Geographic information system was also used for spatial analysis, such as the land-use and accessibility changes. A 5 km buffer zone from interchange of the expressway showed about two times increase of urbanized built-up area than a 5 km buffer zone from the expressway. Accessibility from Seoul and cities was improved in most areas, which is accessing to Seoul through existing Youngdong expressway. Ten rural areas showed increased population with accessibility of average 52 minutes to Seoul and 19 minutes to cities, while eight areas showed decreased population with average 73 minutes to Seoul and 35 minutes to cities. This shows that the threshold value, which is time distance to Seoul and cities for population increase or decrease, one and half hours, respectively. Urbanized area was increased in most areas, even in population decrease areas, so this indicates that there are thinning rural areas, increasing urbanized area while decreasing population.

  • According to the expansion of smartphone penetration and development of wearable device, personal context information can be easily collected. To use this information, the context aware recommender system has been actively studied. The key issue in this field is how to deal with the context information, as users are influenced by different contexts while rating items. But measuring the similarity among contexts is not a trivial task. To solve this problem, we propose context aware post-filtering to apply the context compensation. To be specific, we calculate the compensation for different context information by measuring their average. After reflecting the compensation of the rating data, the mechanism recommends the items to the user. Based on the item recommendation list, we recover the rating score considering the context information. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we use the real movie rating dataset. Experimental evaluation shows that our proposed method outperforms several state-of-the-art approaches.

  • IPv6 nodes use the Neighbor Discovery Protocol (NDP) to discover other nodes on the link, to determine their link-layer addresses to find routers, and to maintain reachability information about the paths to active neighbors. If not secured, NDP is vulnerable to various attacks. This document specifies security mechanisms for NDP. Unlike those in the original NDP specifications, these mechanisms do not use IPsec.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze consumers' perceived risk and information search behaviors in internet shopping. For this purpose, survey was conducted on 302 consumers in their 20s and 30s who had internet shopping experience. This study found that consumers' perceived risk was significantly related to their gender, educational level, income, credit card use, period of internet un, number of internet shopping experiences, and purchased product. Consumers' search behaviors were also significantly affected by gender, age, educational level, income, period of internet use, and purchased product. In addition, a higher level of consumers' perceived risk was significantly related to the amount of information search on product attributes themselves rather than on general information search such as the number of sites or the number of brands.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the utilization status of internet and dietary information by gender (boys : 442, girls : 461) in school children (total 903). The results were summarized as follows. The most of children used internet regularly (98.1%) and major purpose of using were mentioned as 'game (39.0%)' and 'social intercourse (49.5%)'. The duration of internet use was '< 2hours (80.9%)' They used internet mainly at 'home (88.8%)', and favorite search engines were 'Yahoo (54.2%)' and 'Daum (31.1%)'. The searching experience on dietary information was from only 35.6% of subjects mainly 'for homework (39.6%)' and 'for health (36.9%)'. The satisfaction degree of searched information was 'high (79.5%)'. Dissatisfactory reasons of internet site for dietary information were pointed out to be 'bring little interest (28.9)', 'difficult contents (19.2%)', and 'poor Information (18.2%)'. Only fifteen % of subjects had experience of nutrition counseling using internet, and purpose of counseling was mainly 'for homework (51.4%)' and 'for health problem (24.3%)'. The problems for nutritional counseling site were pointed out to be 'difficult answer content (31.7%)', 'insincere answer (28.6%)'and 'poor answer content (25.4%)'. They acquire information of nutrition and health management mainly through 'internet (43.7%)'. 'Growth and nutrition (28.3%)', 'improvement in studying ability (13.8%)', 'right weight control (13.3%)' and 'cooking (12.8%)'were most frequently asked information, They had a preference for 'game (40.5%)', 'animation (29.9%)' and 'quiz (18.1%)'as loaming method tools. The favorite site color was 'green (51.3%)'The results of this study showed that although the internet use was very high, they used internet to search dietary information very seldom. Therefore, the information donor should find out what is the optimal tool, what kind of dietary information was needed for school children.

  • The present study examined the factors influencing individuals' risk information seeking and processing using the case of 2015 MERS outbreak in Korea. Analyses of two-wave online panel data demonstrated that perceived risk, negative affect, subjective norm, and information insufficiency predicted the risk information seeking/avoiding as well as information processing mode, which validates the Risk Information Seeking and Processing(RISP) model. More importantly, this study found new evidence that information seeking and systematic processing promoted MERS preventive behaviors. In addition, active SNS use moderated the link between perceived risk and negative affects about MERS crisis as well as the relationship between social normative pressure and to seek the risk related information.

  • Recently the interest in secondary use of medical information has emerged. But the domestic legislation or guidelines, such as being able to say that already specialize in healthcare information, can be seen a 'national medical privacy guidelines'. However the guidelines have suggested that only a violation of privacy laws in the medical information, it does not defined clearly with respect to protected health information(PHI) for secondary use. In this paper, we learn the HIPAA(Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) Privacy Rule of the US legislation which provides a non-identifiable screen instructions for secondary utilization of medical information, domestic guidelines and other country's guidelines. comparing with the HIPAA, national medical privacy guidelines and the domestic studies, we propose a new domestic target non-identifying information suitable for the domestic field and present future research direction.

  • The availability and growth of the Internet offers users the opportunity to find information and data all over the world. The development of the WWW has made the Internet easier to use, both for finding information and for publishing it electronically. Because so much information is available, and because that information can appear to be fairly 'anonymous', It is necessary to develop skills to evaluate what you find. Every printed information resources you find has been evaluated in one way or another before you ever see it. But when you are using the WWW, none of this applies. There are no filters between you and Internet. In addition, the ease of constructing Web documents results in information of the widest range of quality, written by authors of the widest range of authority, available on an even playing field Excellent information resources reside along side the most dubious. This study discusses the criteria arid methods by which scholars and researchers in most fields evaluate print information, and shows how the same criteria and methods can be used to assess Internet Website document. This study applied seven criteria, that is essential Web document element, authorship, publishing body, point of view or bias, referral to other sources, verifiability and currency. All information, whether in print or by byte, needs to be evaluated by users for some objective criteria and methods mentioned above. If you find information that is 'too good to be true', it probably is. Never use information that you can't verity. Always remember that the best counterfeit looks the most like the real thing. Establishing and learning criteria and methods to filter information you find on the Internet is a good beginning for becoming a critical consumer of information in all forms.

  • This study suggests a revised TAM (Technology Acceptance Model)-based performance evaluation model in MS (management science) education. Recently, many MS education programs are developed on the basis of computer and Internet communication technology. Previous researchers used TAM as an individual performance evaluation model, and proved that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the substantive successful factors. This study provides a revised TAM-based conceptual framework for understanding what is involved in improving university MS education and what might be implied by conducting research on its improvement. It is argued in this research that three sets of forces and conditions have a direct and indirect impact on MS education ; first, each student has self efficacy and it is a critical determinant of behavior next, the use of Internet-based information system at MS education affects on the renewal of MS education : and finally, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have impacts on behavioral intention and actual system usage. This research concludes with suggestions for which direction this framework provides for future research on the premise and limits of efforts to renew MS education in university.
