A Study on the Webpage Contents of Public Libraries in Seoul (서울시 공공도서관의 웹페이지 콘텐츠 분석)

  • As designing webpage has become part of daily life, the public library tends to use the webpage for the information service and the public relations as well. In this context, this study explores the theoretical background on the webpage of public libraries; investigates and analyzes, based on previous studies, the webpage of public libraries in Seoul in terms of its informations structure and contents : and suggests some recommendations, through designing and controlling, for the effective use of the webpage of public libraries.

  • In this paper we propose a new method for modeling indoor environment with stereo camera and suggest a localization method for mobile robot navigation on the basis of it. From the viewpoint of easiness in map building and exclusion of artificiality, the main idea of this paper is that environment is represented as global topological map and each node has omni-directional metric and color information by using stereo camera and pan/tilt mechanism. A Study on the Business Value of Products Considering Cross Selling Effect (교차판매효과를 고려한 상품의 가치평가에 관한 연구)

  • One of the most fundamental problems in business is to evaluate the value of each product. The difficulty is that the profit of one product not only comes from its own sales, but also its influence on the sales of other products, i.e., the "cross-selling effect". This study integrates a measure for cross selling and an algorithm for profit estimation. Sales transaction data and post sales survey data from on-line and off-line shopping mall is used to show the effectiveness of the method against other heuristic for profit estimation based on product-specific profitability. We show that with the use of the new method we are able to identify the cross-selling potential of each product and use the information for better product selection.

  • Over the past several years, the building codes that govern commercial building construction have become increasingly prescriptive in nature, specifying detailed information related to the design and installation of the systems, while offering no reasoning behind their prescriptive measures. For example, metal stud framing is commonly used in commercial building construction to create bearing walls and non-bearing partition walls. BIM provides a powerful platform for developing and implementing "pre-planning" tools and methods to facilitate both engineering and administrative controls during construction. This paper discusses the use of BIM to enhance constructability for commercial building construction activities, specifically metal stud framing. Using specific real-world examples this paper demonstrates ways that BIM can be used to foresee potential construction issues and motivates and informs future uses of BIM technologies

The Effects of MMORPG User's Stress Coping Strategies on Continued Use Intention Through Self-Control and Behavioral Adaptation (MMORPG 이용자의 스트레스 대처전략이 자기통제감과 행동적 적응을 통해 지속적인 게임 이용의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose Despite the continued rise in the popularity of mobile MMORPGs, the previous studies mainly focused on negative results of playing MMORPG such as violence and game addiction. In addition, previous studies that verified game play motives were not enough to explain user's fundamental motives for MMORPG play. To verify the positive role of playing MMORPG, this study focused on stress coping strategies on continued play MMORPG, and divided factors into two dimensions: escapism and coping with system. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively identify the discriminatory effects of each factor on users' self-control, and the effect of self-constrol and behavioral adapatation on continued use intention for MMORPG. Design/methodology/approach This study was designed to examine the structural relationships among MMORPG users' escapism, system coping, self-control, behavioral adaptation and continued use intention for MMORPG. Findings The results from this study are as follow. First, the participants' effect-based escapism had a positive impact on self-control, whereas cause-based escapism had a negative impact on self-control. Next, proactive coping and reactive coping for system problem had a positive impact on self-control. In addition, Self-control had a positive impact on behavioral adaptation and continued use intention for MMORPG. Lastly, the behavioral adaptation to MMORPG had a positive impact continued use intention. The results of our study can suggest the positive effects of coping strategy on users' self-control and behavioral adaptation by applying the theory of both escapism and coping with system. Based on our results, game companies should develop contents that can gratify users' coping motives and enhance self-control and behavioral adaptation.

A Study on the Influence of Intention to Use on Supply Condition and Offer Program of Care Farming (치유농업의 공급조건과 제공프로그램이 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for the development of strategic measures for the application and growth potential of care farming as a healing for office workers. Therefore this study was investigated the relationship between supply conditions and offer programs for the activation of care farming and the intention of participants to use. The analysis results of the survey conducted for general office workers are as follows. Frist, there was a significant positive correlation between all sub-factors and intention to use. Second, the higher the awareness about the convenience of using healing facilities among supply conditions of healing farming and the necessity of medical service, the higher the intention to use. Third, the higher the awareness about the necessity of cultivation of crops, animal mediation, natural activities, and cultural activities among supply conditions of healing farming, the higher the intention to use. Based on the above analysis results, this study discussed the differences from previous studies and also derived insights for establishing a strategic plan to promote care farming.

Survey Analysis of Guardians' Understanding on The Antibiotic use for Their Children Under Elementary School Age (초등학생 이하 자녀의 항생제 복용에 대한 보호자 인식조사)

  • The objective of this study was to find out guardians' understanding on the antibiotic use for their children under elementary school age. Survey analysis was performed on 671 questionnaire response sheets from the guardians for children ($\leq$13 years old) attending daycare centers, kindergartens, or elementary schools located in eastern part and vicinity of Seoul, Korea. Result showed that majority of the guardians did not follow right direction for the use of antibiotic medications. About 80% of the guardians discontinued or reduced dosage of the antibiotic medications if symptoms relieved, and about 66% of them administered the drug always after meal although interval was not consistent. Furthermore, only one-fifth of the guardians understood right indication of antibiotic medications that it is of no use to take antibiotics for the treatment of common cold. About 65% of the guardians participated in this study responded that they received drug information for antibiotic medications from doctors or pharmacists. However, in terms of knowledge score regarding antibiotic drug use, their score was significantly lower than that of guardians who received the information from internet or mass media. This result suggests that patients counsel is not efficiently being practiced among healthcare professionals in the region surveyed in this study. Therefore, in conclusion, it appears that community pharmacists need to be more interactive in patients counsel when they dispense antibiotic medications.

Applicable Evaluation of the Latest Land-use Data for Developing a Real-time Atmospheric Field Prediction of RAMS (RAMS의 실시간 기상장 예측 향상을 위한 최신 토지피복도 자료의 적용가능성)

  • Chemical Accident Response Information System (CARIS) which has been designed for the efficient emergency response of chemical accidents produces the real-time atmospheric fields through the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System, RAMS. The previous studies were emphasized that improving an initial input data had more effective results in developing prediction ability of atmospheric model. In a continuous effort to improve an initial input data, we replaced the land-use dataset using in the RAMS, which is a high resolution USGS digital data constructed in April, 1993, with the latest land-use data of the Korea Ministry of Environment over the South Korea and simulated atmospheric fields for developing a real-time prediction in dispersion of chemicals. The results showed that the new land-use data was written in a standard RAMS format and shown the modified surface characteristics and the landscape heterogeneity resulting from land-use change. In the results of sensitivity experiment we got the improved atmospheric fields and assured that it will give more reliable real-time atmospheric fields to all users of CARIS for the dispersion forecast in associated with hazardous chemical releases as well as general air pollutants.
