  • In this research, we proposed the immobilization zone where the organic contaminant would be fixed, so that ground water could be prevented from the organic contaminants. The surfactant was adsorbed on the soil particles and the organic contaminants were partitioned into the hydrophobic tails of the surfactant in the immobilization zone. Surfactants with different molecular structures-SDDBS (sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid), MADS (monoalkylated disulfonated diphenyl oxide), DADS (dialkylated disulfonated diphenyl oxide) - were used in this study. Up to the present, the research on the immolization simulated the saturated condition. But many site contaminated with organic contaminants and the zones where immobilization would be applied are unsaturated. In this research, in order to investigate the behaviors of surfactants and organic contaminants in unsaturated condition, the unsaturated columns were experimented, and their results were compared with the saturated case.

  • In this paper, statistical approach is undertaken to investigate the classification of wear debris which is the key function of objective assessment of wear debris morphology. Wear tests are run to produce various kinds of wear debris. The images of wear debris from wear tests are captured with image acquisition equipment. By thresholding, two-dimensional binary images of wear debris are made and, then, morphological parameters are used to quantify the images of debris. Parametric and nonparametric discriminant method are employed to classify wear debris into predefined wear conditions. It is demonstrated that classification accuracy of parametric and nonparametric discriminant method is similar. The selected use of morphological parameters by stepwise discriminant analysis can generally improve the classification accuracy of parametric and nonparametric discriminant method.

  • Through this research, I intend to examine the possibility of utilizing the plaza in front of a station as a citizen plaza within the city, which citizen can use actively. Until now, the plaza in front of a station is utilized as a traffic square. As part of this examination, I'll consider a plaza generally and analyse the present condition of the plaza in front of a station as well as physical environment. Then I will grasp the present condition and problems. Through this, 1 intend to extract basic materials enough to find the possibility of the plaza in front of a station as a citizen resting place.

  • Floating-type automatic turnout was developed for the purpose of reducing labor cost and labor-working hours related to turnout management. The point of automation is to use a flexible-float within the turnout. The weight of float is changed by emptying and filling with water at the beginning and ending of irrigation. The turnout is controlled to open and close small bole on the float bottom using electromagnets. With the weight control of float. the gate of turnout is opened by the empty float to begin irrigatiom and is closed by the filled float to stop irrigation. The turnout was designed to be operated by the main computer and to minimize electric power consumption by sending an electric current at the beginning and ending of irrigation. The functional experiment was succesfully carried out and the rating curves for both free overflow condition and submerged flow condition were derived.

  • We [1] investigated the Hausdorff dimension and the packing dimension of a certain perturbed Cantor set whose ratios are unformly bounded. In this paper, we consider a specific Cantor set whose ratios are not necessarily uniformly bounded but satisfy some other conditions. In fact, in the hypothesis, only the condition of the unform boundedness of ratios on the set is substituted by a "*-condition". We use energy theory related to Hausdorff dimension in this study while we [1] used Hausdorff density theorem to find the Hausdorff dimension of some perturbed Cantor set. In the end, we given an example which explains aformentioned facts.ned facts.

  • Let H be a Hilbert space which is the direct sum of five closed subspaces $X_0,\;X_1,\;X_2,\;X_3$ and $X_4$ with $X_1,\;X_2,\;X_3$ of finite dimension. Let J be a $C^{1,1}$ functional defined on H with J(0) = 0. We show the existence of at least four nontrivial critical points when the sublevels of J (the torus with three holes and sphere) link and the functional J satisfies sup-inf variational inequality on the linking subspaces, and the functional J satisfies $(P.S.)^*_c$ condition and $f|X_0{\otimes}X_4$ has no critical point with level c. For the proof of main theorem we use the nonsmooth version of the classical deformation lemma and the limit relative category theory.

  • A theorem of Robert Blumenthal is used here in order to obtain a sufficient condition for a function between two Finsler manifolds to be a fibre bundle map. Our study is connected with two possible constructions: 1) a Finslerian generalization of usually Kaluza-Klein theories which use Riemannian metrics, the well-known particular case of Finsler metrics, 2) a Finslerian version of reduction process from geometric mechanics. Due to a condition in the Blumenthal's result the completeness of Euler-Lagrange vector fields of Finslerian type is discussed in detail and two situations yielding completeness are given: one concerning the energy and a second related to Finslerian fundamental function. The connection of our last framework, namely a regular Lagrangian having the energy as a proper (in topological sense) function, with the celebrated $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ Recurrence Theorem is pointed out.

  • A electrical fault is defined as any abnormal condition caused by a reduction in the insulation strength. To define the potential risk of the electric installation, measurement of leakage current has been getting considered, but because the measured leakage current value also contained leakage current by capacitance, the measured value could not be adapted to absolute reference to the installation. Therefore, in this paper, the correlation between the condition of electric installation and leakage current were analyzed. The result focuses on to detect them in a cost efficient way.

  • A photoetching process is widely used for small and high precision parts in machinery, electronic and semi-conductor industries. One of the high precision parts, grid is very important part of digitron which use electron display, and it is fabricated by only photoetching process because of high precision. In this study, to develop high precision digitron grid, characteristics of etching solution were investigated with electrochemical test, that was potentiodynamic test and immersion test in the ferric chloride solution and added some additives. Based on the electrochemical etching test, grid was fabricated by continuous photoetching process at various etching condition. From the result of measured line width and etching depth under-cut and etching factor were calculated. For the fabrication of 25$\mu\textrm{m}$ line width, optimal etching condition was etching temperature 40~$45^{\circ}C$, spray pressure 1.5kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and etching time 3~4min.

  • This study was investigated the application of biofiltration using cometabolic process to remediate gaseous toluene that are highly recalcitrant to adsorption, absorption and biodegradation. The investigation was conducted using specially built steel columns packed with granular activated carbon for removal of toluene and G.A.C was also coated with Pseudomonas putida microorganisms by addition of KH$_{2}$PO$_{4}$. The biofilter unit was operated in the condition of dry and 27.5% moisture content at gas loading rate of 12.5 l/min. Gaseous toluene taken from tedlar bag was analyzed by the use of G.C. equipped with F.I.D. detector. The removal efficiency of gaseous toluene was 85% at average inlet concentration of 970 ppm during dry operating condition. For gaseous toluene, 91% removal efficient was obtained at the filter material with moisture content and 97% removal efficiency was obtained with Pseudomonas putida microorganisms at gas loading rate of 12.5 l/min.
