  • This study empirically examines the synergy effect of a corporate-level loyalty program on customer equity (CE) known as the lifetime value of current and future customers (Blattberg et al. 2009). A corporate-level loyalty program refers to a company-wide integration loyalty program at the corporate-level in which subsidiaries (multi-divisions) participate as program members. It does not merely examine whether there is an integration effect of a corporate-level loyalty program from the CE perspective, but it provides practical implications for a firm's strategic focus by identifying which value creation channels (i.e., acquisition, retention, and cross-selling), brand characteristics (i.e., size of the customer base before integration, diversity of products, and sales channel type), and consumer characteristics (i.e., customer relationship stage, transaction amount before integration, transaction period, and number of purchased brands) are affected the most by the synergy effect.

To analyze the factors that determine working life satisfaction, regression analysis was conducted. Satisfaction level of working hours(t=2.469), living environment(t=2.140), post offices/banks (t=3.024) showed a statistically significant. Also these variables, working hours, living environment, post office/banks are verified to be very important for improving the level of their working life. Through these findings we can understand that employee support activities, providing user-guide of bank and post office, compliance with standards for working hours, improvement of the living conditions (accommodation, meals, etc.), the leisure time program support, the children care support and active utilization of foreign workers and strengthen the educational program, are necessary to improve the satisfaction level of foreign laborers' working life in Korea. • The purpose of this study was to evaluate Korean and foreign environmental education programs: 3 Korean programs including 'Environmental Education Program' for primary school level, 'Environment' for middle school level, 'Ecology and Environment' for high school level and 2 foreign programs including 'TLSF(Teaching and Loaming for a Sustainable Future) Program and IEEIA(Investigating and Evaluating Environmental Issues and Actions) Program using IAEEC (The Inventory for Assessing Environmental Education Curricula) by Kim (2003). The IAEEC include four goal levels of the foundations level, the conceptual awareness level, the investigation level, environmental action skills level and an optical level: teaching methods and practice. The IAEEC use a 5-point Likert scale to identify the extent to which an environmental education curriculum or a program reflects the goals of environmental education. It was found that our school environmental education programs need to be more involved, especially in the areas of social foundations (political & legal); personal beliefs and values in environmental issue and the critical analysis of the issue by identifying important players' positions, beliefs, and values; and the environmental action to solve the issue and evaluate the consequences and effectiveness of the action plan. This study can provide a meaningful direction for program development in environmental education and especially provide school-teachers with reliable sources in analyzing environmental education programs for their school classes.

The subjects comprised of 118 stroke survivors who discharged from 4 hospitals in Seoul during the past 2 years. The data were collected from August 3, 1998 to September 18, 1998, through interviews with questionnaires about general characteristics, activities of dally living, depression and service need of rehabilitation day care program at the outpatient clinics by trained nursing graduates. Data were analyzed with descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and Stepwise multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS/WIN program. The results obtained are as follows ; 1. The mean score of the general need of rehabilitation day care program of stroke survivors was 2.78(range 1-4). The highest need among the service categories of the rehabilitation day care program was self-care and restorative activities category, and health services referral category, recreation category, psychosocial activities category in order. The needs of each category are as follows ; 1) In the health services referral category, the need for speech therapy was highest, followed by the need for physical therapy and occupational therapy. 2) In the psychosocial activities category, the need for self-help group was highest. 3) In the self-care and restorative activities category, the need for bathing was highest, followed by bowel training, and ambulation training. 4) The need for the recreation category was 2.62. 2. Among the need for the effect related to the utilization of day care program, the need for survivors' physical and psychological well-being was highest and was followed by the need for caregiver's physical and psychological wellbeing. Pearson's correlation analysis revealed following results ; 1. The need for rehabilitation day care program service displayed a correlation with the level of education, ADL, and the level of depression, and a reverse correlation with age. 2. The need for the effect related to the utilization of rehabilitation day program displayed a correlation with the level of education, ADL, and the level of depression. The stepwise multiple linear regression analysis revealed following results : 1. For the need for rehabilitation day care program service, 28.4% of the variance was initially explained by one variable, level of depression. The level of depression plus two variables, survivors' age and ADL, explained 34.2% of the variance in the need for rehabilitation day care program service. 2. For the need for the effect related to the utilization of rehabilitation day care program, 12.4% of the variance was initially explained by one variable, level of depression. The level of depression plus one variable, level of education, explained 20.4% of the variance in the need for the effect related to the utilization of rehabilitation day care program. In conclusion, above characteristics should be considered when we are planning to develop stroke survivors' rehabilitation day care program.

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the perception level about food safety of school foodservice dietitians and employees and to assess their food hygiene practice level in school foodservice operation in Chungbuk Province. A questionnaire survey of 250 dietitians and 744 employees at school food service operations was conducted and 143 and 421 respective responses were available for this study. The collected data were analyzed using SAS V8.2 for windows. The main results of this study can be summarized as follows: 98.60% of respondent school foodservice dietitians operated sanitation training programs one time or more per month. As for the reason why the program was not performed at frequent intervals, the majority of the dietitians and employees attributed it to the conventional practices. The employees' perception level of importance about sanitary training program was marked at 4.31(out of 5 scale). The employees' performance level of sanitary training program was ranked above 4.0 point(out of 5 scale) in the 26 items out of the total of 29 items. The results indicated that there was positive correlation between perception level and performance level of sanitation training program. The findings suggest that continuing sanitary education is important to ensuring food safety at school foodservice operations.
