  • The strip profile and shape control is one of the most important technologies in Hot Rolling Mill System. Because the unbalance of strip´s shape and wave appearance between stands has a bad effect on Hot Rolling Mill System by making the inferior thickness, strip´s damage and so forth in factories. Many competition Plate Mill introduced shape control system, for example, pair cross-mill, work roll bender, which includes shape measuring instruments and shape control mathematical models. Shape meter, which is equipped for flatness, only does feedback control at the top of coil. And, for crown, we depend on initial setup value and there is no feedback control.   • This paper concerns rotor vibration reduction using magnetic damper system. The fuzzy control logic is utilized to fulfill desired motion. The fuzzy system structure and membership function were first determined by simulation results. The researched control logic contains two fuzzy controller : reference position variation according to the rotor whirling status and error compensation algorithm to minimize the rotor vibration due to unbalance and unstable fluid film force. The Sugeno type output membership function was utilized by several trials and optimized membership function constants were selected from experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed method effectively control and reduce the rotor vibration with fluid film bearings.

  • The modal test has been carried out using the exciter machine to investigate the vibration characteristics of the hull and super structure of the ship. The conventional exciter acts only one(1) direction and the exciter should be reinstalled for different direction test, which consumes additional expense. The 3 axes exciter has been designed of which force acts three directions without reinstallation for efficient modal test of the ship. It consists of rotatable base frame structure and the clutch mechanism for the unbalances to excite three directions. And the 3 axes exciter for the local structure has been made in advance and its performance test was carried out in the laboratory. The developed 3 axes exciter shows the ability of three-directions excitation with simple operation and modal test for the various local structure of the ship will be performed.

  • This paper is a study on the dynamic characteristics of truncated cone type squeeze film damper(SFD) bearing and rotor system. This model can alter the radial oil film gap which Is Important to the performance of rotor-bearing system and manufactured easily to change the shape concept of traditional circular type SFD bearing. In theoretical analysis, the oil film pressure distribution, the oil film force, the film damping coefficient and the eccentricity ratio, etc. were induced with regard to the film inertia effect. The film damping coefficients and optimum design parameters are calculated. When unbalance parameter U is greater than 0.2, the nonlinear vibration such as "Jump" phenomena appears in the vicinity of rotor critical speed. At this time, the increases of bearing parameter U, journal distance S, Reynolds number Re can control this unstable vibration. The experimental results show that SFD hearing and rotor system which are designed according to the design parameters in the stable region are operated stably in rotational speed 9,600rpm without nonsynchronous behavior.

  • In this paper, a spindle system using an electromagnetic exciter is proposed to compensate a spindle disturbance such as unbalance and machining force etc A spindle compliance can be readily varied with a disturbance which is generated by the interact ion between the spindle / workpiece structure and the cutting process dynamics. The varied compliance is one of the major constraints that deteriorates the surface quality of workpiece. This paper suggests a compliance compensation by using the EME in the proposed spindle system. To compensate the varied compliance, firstly a spindle system modeling was conducted by using the bond graph. Then the model is simulated by numerical analysis method and an optimal EME position is determined to compensate a disturbance effectively through simulation, which makes the bearing load to be minimized

  • Scroll compressor using a slide bushing type radial compliant crank mechanism is modelled, and it's dynamic behaviour characteristics are analyzed. Sealing forces generated in the flank surfaces of the orbiting scroll depending on the distance, e, from slide bushing center to crank pin center are calculated. From the stable condition of orbiting scroll for the moment equilibrium in tangential direction, the range of e is determined as 0$r_o$. Transient response of a crankshaft supported by two journal bearings is investigated, considering applied load, moment, and unbalance force by eccentric mass. As a result, conical whirl mode with circular orbits are obtained. The characteristics of journal orbits and frictional losses are calculated with a variation of viscosity and bearing clearance.

  • In the transportation between countries using container, too many empty containers must be transported due to the transportation unbalance. For transportation efficiency, therefore, foldable containers are being developed. Hinge brackets are important parts of foldable containers because great force is applied on the hinges during loading onto and unloading from ships. In this study, the hinge bracket for a foldable container is designed to be made using thick plate or bulk materials to endure the heavy loads. The forming process for the hinge bracket using a thick plate is designed via numerical analysis. First of all, the shape of bracket is designed for the better formability. Bending and successive side wall thickening processes are employed for the forming of the hinge bracket. Maximum thickening that can be achieved in a single stage of forming without a folding defect is determined and three stage of thickening processes are designed.

  • 선박이나 산업플랜트에 이용되고 있는 압축공기의 압력이 증가되고 압축기의 경량화 내지는 설치면적을 축소하기 위하여 3단압축을 하므로서 토출압력을 30기압 이상으로 증가할 수가 있다. 그러나 크랭크기구를 갖고있는 공기압축기의 실린더 배열이 복잡하고 고속운전으로 인하여 크랭크축에 연결된 왕복질량과 회전질량에 의한 불평형력이 저감되도록 왕복질량의 적절한 배치와 중량감소를 위해 주철재 피스톤 재질을 알미늄합금으로 교체하고 적절한 평형추 설치와 방진고무의 선택을 검토해야한다. 본 연구에서는 3개의 실린더가 60도 간격으로 배치되는 W형 공기압축기의 진동상태를 측정하고 이를 분석하여 진동저감을 위한 대책으로 평형추 계산이론을 도출하는데 중점을 두었다. 검토대상 공기압축기의 사양은 표1에 보이는 바와 같다.

  • The aircraft engine is usually supported by rolling element bearings and has a small damping rate, which is vol y sensitive to external force. The high-performance requirement of the rotors leads to complex assembly designs and are more flexible. Squeeze film dampers (SFDs) are introduced to provide damping while crossing the critical speeds and stability to the rotor s :stem. Hence, the focus of the present investigation is on the decision of an optimal size of the flexible rotor system supported by the squeeze film dampers to minimize the maximum transmitted load and unbalance response over a range operating speeds. The enhanced genetic algorithm (EGA), which was developed by authors, is used in the optimization process. This algorithm is based on the synthesis of a modified genetic algorithm and simplex method. The results show significant benefits in using EGA when compared with nonlinear programming (NLP).

  • We develop a method to analyze dynamic behavior off multi-stage gear train system. The example system consists of three shafts supported by ball bearings at the ends of them and two pairs of spur gear set. For exact analysis, the meshing tooth pair of gear set is modeled as spring and damper having time-dependent meshing stiffness and damping. The bearing is modeled as spring. The result of this analysis is compared to that of other model having mean mesh stiffness. The effect of the excitation force by the unbalance off rotor off motor is also analyzed. Finally, the change ova natural frequency of the whole system due to the change of an angle between three shafts is compared in each case, and from this analysis, the avoiding angle for design is advised.
