1990년대 후반 IT의 발달로 정보통신 도시에 대한 개념이 정립되었다. 2000년대 초반, 유비쿼터스 기술이 도입됨에 따라 정보통신 도시는 U-City로의 개념 대체가 이루어졌다. 당시 U-City는 첨단 정보통신 인프라와 유비쿼터스 정보서비스를 도시 공간에 융합하여 도시 제반 기능을 혁신시킬 수 있는 차세대 정보화 도시로 정의되었다. 그로부터 U-City 란 개념이 도입 된지 $6{\sim}7$ 년여의 시간이 경과하였는데 그 시간 동안 초기의 U-City가 어떠한 패러다임을 갖고 변화하였고 그 변화의 원인을 살펴보고자 한다. 현재까지의 도시 트렌드를 분석하고 향후 미래도시 트렌드를 제안하고자 한다. 눈에 보여지고 있는 U-City를 구성하는 것은 U-City 서비스라고 해도 과언이 아니다. U-City에서 제공하는 U-City 서비스에 대해 분석하고 향후 출현할 수 있는 서비스에 대해 제언하고자 한다.

This study demonstrates a basic concept and designing direction for the realisation of disaster prevention planning in u-City(u-BangjaeCity) that is from establishing a planning system in terms of the areas of professional disaster and safety management for the national disaster management. and designing disaster or safety management system via using ubiquitous technology for the scientific disaster management. In order to realise u-City it is necessary to maps out interrelation amongst various services such as traffic, environment and disaster prevention. Domestic and international case studies regarding the tendency of disaster prevention planing in u-City and its analysis could be the fundamental resource in order to develop the standard model of u-BangjaeCity.

Ubiquitous computing which is providing various convenient services to user will prevail in future. To realize ubiquitous service, analyzing technical and information factors for service implementation is necessary. This paper defines ubiquitous service model to satisfy user demands and we analyze technical and information factors in order to realize services. Based on the factors, we extracts and classifies common compositions of ubiquitous services to suggest guidelines of service design.

Over the past two decades following the 1990s, South Korea's IT industry has developed rapidly. In keeping with this trend, the architectural and urban planning sectors have also converged with IT and achieved advancement in new directions. This evolution includes a variety of conceptual terminologies such as 'home automation', ''home network', 'smart home, and 'ubiquitous-city'. However, smart homes and U-cities simply represent a conceptual extension of home networks, and there is little real difference in the technologies involved. In particular, U-cities remain focused on infrastructure rather than on the development of specific content; consequently, they have failed to demonstrate distinctive features to clearly differentiate themselves from conventional cities. In such a context, this research aims at the proposal of a 'ubiquitous pavilion' as a component of the efforts to develop a range of architectural contents that utilize ubiquitous technologies. By grafting the pavilion, one of the most basic forms in architecture, with cutting-edge ubiquitous technologies, this paper intends to suggest a multi-purpose architectural space readily and simply available not only in newly emerging U-cities, but to conventional cities as well.

현재 우리는 Ubiquitous IT기술을 활용한 편의시설이 곳곳에 적용되어 가고 있는 도시에 서 살아가고 있으며, 이러한 Ubiquitous IT기술은 발전에 발전을 거듭하여 우리가 느끼지 못하는 곳까지 확대되어 가고 있다. IT산업과 도시산업의 융·복합화을 통해 형성되는 새로운 도시의 개념인 u-City는 다양한 u-Service의 제공을 통해 국민의 삶을 향상시키는데 의의가 있다. 정부에서도 Ubiquitous 활성화 정책과 u-City 관련 산업 육성을 위해 노력하고 있으며, 이에 Ubiquitous 환경 및 정보인프라 구축등 기술적 구현은 빠르게 발전되고 있다. 그러나 u-Service의 효과를 체험하고 보다나은 서비스가 제공될 수 있도록 정보를 제공해 주어야 하는 소비자(국민)들은 계층별 정보격차로 인해 체감할 수 있는 u-Service가 미흡한 것으로 파악된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 정보격차 분석을 통해 계층별 소비자 맞춤형 u-Service 적용방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이에 본 논문은 u-Service의 기본단위인 도시에서 생겨나는 정보격차 속성을 이해하고, 정보격차의 주체별 분석을 통하여 올바른 u-Service를 적용할 수 있는 효율적인 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

The concept of "ubiquitous" has become the top issue of the 21st century communications field within the past years. u-City has become the new city paradigm with the convergence of city planning and ubiquitous communication technologies and services. Starting from 2004, KT has collaborated with the Korean government to develop comfortable, convenient, pleasant, safe, and healthy IT technology based u-City focusing on; balanced development, value creation, and improved standard of living within the region. Presently the term, "hazard mitigation services" lacks a clear definition due to its varying applications by different local agencies and has caused confusion. Therefore, this report will clarify and define u-City hazard mitigation services currently proposed to the local agencies as well as services currently in effect. Additionally, the report will introduce hazard mitigation service models feasible by KT.

The concept of library is newly interpreted and designed under the environment of U-City. The basic notion of the library should not changed its kernel nevertheless, the new technologies like ubiquitous computing services are applied to the library, which functions in terms of information services, continuous learning programs and communities of practice(CoP). The library is fit for any technologies or environments as organism. Actually the library has been shown in terms of new information technologies with the changes of the times. It leads to comprehend the library as its appearance not as it is. The libraries including even cities have evolved toward ubiquitous(computing) environment. On the other words, the libraries have sought ubiquitous at the past, now they are still chasing it.

As the title signifies, the current study aims at the realization of u-City, which is short for the Ubiquitous City. For this purpose, firstly, the meaning of u-City realization is sought in the study based on future urban changes. Along with this, current issues in the course of u-City realization are gathered based on in-depth interviews with relevant experts. Thirdly, necessary for the comprehensive planning and management of u-City, several strategies are presented by classifying it into u-Infra and u-Service, and considering relevant laws and regulations. And the study divided the execution process into project, development and management levels, and then suggests some realization strategies that are level-dependent.

The number of mobile devices roaming into a ubiquitous city (u-city) continues to rise as wireless systems have been widely deployed. The number of mobile devices also varies with time, and they tend to frequently change their locations. In addition, the available wireless access networks may belong to different domains, administrations, management, and internet service providers (ISPs). A fusion of overlapping heterogeneous wireless access networks (e.g., WiMax, Wi-Fi, LTE, etc.) serves the u-city in order to reach different coverage. In this context, technical challenges arise in mobility management for heterogeneous networks to realize their potential coverage and capacity benefits. This paper deals with the analysis of a decentralized mobility management support for u-City wireless network infrastructure. This scheme takes advantage of the features of the fully-distributed model of networked-based mobility management protocol to alleviate and realize the ubiquitous requirements of a u-City.

In recent years, our society, because of the arrival of a new paradigm according to the rapid changes in ICT has entered into future smart society and the ubiquitous era. So it can be a notable turning point in the city and administrative spatial informatization, aspects of the era change. Therefore, this study was to derive a desirable vision for the city of Busan Centum City Informatization in the dream of leading global smart city of Busan by applying 'scenario planning' as a foresight method. Soon this study derived a successful local informatization strategy for Centum City in Busan. It proposed the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information. Also this study explored the future leadership strategy of Busan Centum City in smart society. Eventually in 2030 to around, In order to still remain Busan Centum City as a leading ICT smart city, this study suggested the following strategy. It is important to increase the satisfaction of citizen services through the use of the administrative aspects of information with spatial informatization as metadata information for urban information system.
