Development of a Ubiquitous Vision System for Location-awareness of Multiple Targets by a Matching Technique for the Identity of a Target;a New Approach

  • Various techniques have been proposed for detection and tracking of targets in order to develop a real-world computer vision system, e.g., visual surveillance systems, intelligent transport systems (ITSs), and so forth. Especially, the idea of distributed vision system is required to realize these techniques in a wide-spread area. In this paper, we develop a ubiquitous vision system for location-awareness of multiple targets. Here, each vision sensor that the system is composed of can perform exact segmentation for a target by color and motion information, and visual tracking for multiple targets in real-time. We construct the ubiquitous vision system as the multiagent system by regarding each vision sensor as the agent (the vision agent). Therefore, we solve matching problem for the identity of a target as handover by protocol-based approach. We propose the identified contract net (ICN) protocol for the approach. The ICN protocol not only is independent of the number of vision agents but also doesn't need calibration between vision agents. Therefore, the ICN protocol raises speed, scalability, and modularity of the system. We adapt the ICN protocol in our ubiquitous vision system that we construct in order to make an experiment. Our ubiquitous vision system shows us reliable results and the ICN protocol is successfully operated through several experiments.

  • In this paper, an environmental monitoring and diagnosis system based on ubiquitous computing technology, shortly u-Eco Monitoring System, is proposed. u-Eco Monitoring System is designed to: 1) Collect information from the manufacturing processes via ubiquitous computing technology, 2) Analyze the current status, 3) Identify the cause of problem if detected by rule-based and case-based reasoning, and 4) Provide the results to the operator for proper decision making. Based on functional modeling, a generic architecture is derived, followed by application to a manufacturing system in iron and steel making industry. Finally, to show the validity of the proposed method, a prototype is developed and tested. The developed methods can be used as a conceptual framework for designing environmental monitoring and diagnosis system for industrial practices by which monitoring accuracy and response time for abnormal status can be significantly enhanced, and relieving operator pressure from manual monitoring and error-prone decision making.

  • This paper reviews a new kitchen space by analyzing the user life style and their house environment where ubiquitous system is considered. The kitchen space where ubiquitous system is applied was differ in their house atmosphere and the role of kitchen area. Those changes under ubiquitous system has the kitchen becomes the central space of the house and the furnishings including home appliances and furnitures. This furniture and built-in machine will get a communication ability with user in the living and kitchen space. And it will include a high technology like as RFID, home network and so on.

  • The objective of this study is the developement health & disaster monitoring measurement using ubiquitous active communication digital datalogger system for monitoring measurement of railway construction sites. For the replacement of current passive data communication, ubiquitous active communication digital datalogger system is studied for the first time with in a country. Therefore data communication method and analyzing program of automatic measurement data is developed for the global positioning automatic digital datalogger system. The results of this study will be using both real time automatic monitoring measurement and health & disaster monitoring measurement of railway structures.

  • This study is aimed at interpreting into changes and characters of function applied into quantative analysis in ubiquitous house. Digital technology being introduced into architectural fields, It applied expansively from design and construction to user's convenience. The application of digital technology is presented to various change like effectiveness and exactness in design and function of space, which is overlayed digital space to physical space beyond the extent of receiving human needs in physical space. In ubiquitous house, digital technologies are supplied to function coordinated with life, appreciating into positional informations of human and materials, spatial informations. Ubiquitous house is comparably effective into funtional expansion, user's convenience, safty, which, for the future, is going to using on housing of high performance encouraging the application of advanced technology. Therefore this study is classified into human behaviors, functions, performances and characters of digital system in ubiquitous house, which being established into the relation of elements, is interpreted numerically into functional changes and charats being applied to ARM.

  • 본 연구는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 디지털 포트폴리오를 평가하기 위한 시스템을 설계하려는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 포트폴리오에 관한 이론들을 고찰하고, 선행 프로그램들을 분석해서 시스템에 포함되어야 할 내용요소를 추출하였다. 추출된 내용요소를 바탕으로 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 디지털 포트폴리오 평가를 위한 교육평가 시나리오를 개발하였으며, 개발된 시나리오를 바탕으로 디지털 포트폴리오 평가 체제의 요소 즉, 학습활동, 포트폴리오 평가, 포트폴리오 활용, 유비쿼터스 기술, 데이터베이스 영역을 반영하여 시스템 설계를 수행하였다. 이러한 설계는 기존의 포트폴리오 평가 방법과 달리 우리 생활 속에 내재해 있는 컴퓨터 즉, 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 평가가 어떠한 과정과 방법으로 이루어져야 하는지에 대한 안내를 제공할 것이다. 또한 새로운 시스템은 실제 교육평가에서 활용될 수 있는 유비쿼터스 기술이 무엇인지를 알고자 하는 이들에게 도움이 될 것이다.

  • Ubiquitous Computing System란, 언제 어디서나 통신 및 컴퓨팅이 가능하고 컴퓨팅 시스템이 상호간에 정보를 공유하고 협력하는 컴퓨팅 시스템이다. 이로써 기존의 컴퓨팅 환경과 같이 사용자와 컴퓨터간의 대화형 상호작용이 아닌 물리적인 환경 상황(Context)등을 시스템이 스스로 인식하고 이를 기반으로 사용자와의 상호 작용을 지원하는 상황인식 기술이 필수적인 요소로 부각되고 있다. Ubiquitous Computing System을 위해 사용자 및 주변 환경의 정보를 감지하는 센서(Sensor) 기술이 필요하다. 하지만 사용자 및 주변 환경으로부터 입력되는 불확실하거나 모호한 상황정보에 대한 표현과 추론에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 논문은 Rule based System을 활용하여 CRS(Context Recognition Switch)라는 새로운 개념을 도입한 Context Aware Architecture를 제시한다. CRS는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시스템을 위해서는 센서로부터 복합적으로 인지된 사용자 정보 및 주변환경의 정보를 사용자로부터 수동적으로 설정되거나 System의 지속적으로 수집된 정보의 통계 값인 Reference Value와 비교하여, 각 상황에 따른 개별적이고 특화된 서비스를 실행을 하도록 제공한다. 이로써 같은 정보의 입력이 들어와도 그 주변 환경의 상황에 따라 사용자의 필요에 최적화된 실행을 할 수 있다. 마지막으로, Ubiquitous Computing System의 향후 발전 가능성을 예상해고, 본 논문에서 제시한 Context Aware Architecture의 유용성을 짐작해 본다.
