Direct Thrust Control of Permanent Magnet Type Linear Synchronous Motor by using Digital Signal Processor (DSP를 이용한 영구 자석형 선형 동기전동기의 직접 추력 제어)

  • This paper presents a direct thrust control scheme for permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) by using digital signal processor(DSP). And a simulation method for the direct thrust control of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor using the equivalent circuit is presented. The detent force that was obtained by cubic spline method is considered in the simulation. Thrust correction coefficient is utilized to estimate actual thrust on the direct thrust control, which considers the longitudinal end effect due to the finite core length of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The motor self inductance, the initial flux linkage by the permanent magnet is calculated in advance by the finite element analysis, and then the direct control simulation is carried out. As the results, thrust, current and speed are shwon.

  • Ubiquitous computing requires timely supply of contextual information in order to upgrade decision quality. In this sense, this study is aimed at proposing a multi-dynamic decision support system for highly ill-structured problems. Especially, it is very important for decision makers in the ubiquitous computing to coordinate conflicts among local goals and global goal harmoniously. The proposed Multi-Dynamic Decision Support System (MDDSS) is basically composed of both central structure and distributed structure, in which central structure supports multi objects decision making and distributed structure supports individual decision making. Its hybrid architecture consists of decision processor, multi-agent controller and intelligent knowledge management processor. Decision processor provides decision support using contexts which come from individual agents. Multi-agent controller coordinates tension among multi agents to resolve conflicts among them. Meanwhile, intelligent knowledge management processor manages knowledge to support decision making such as rules, knowledge, cases and so on. To prove the validity of the proposed MDDSS, we applied it to an u-fulfillment problem system in which many kinds of decision makers exist trying to satisfy their own objectives, and timely adjustment of action strategy is required. Therefore, the u-fulfillment problem is a highly ill-structured problem. We proved its effectiveness with the aid of multi-agent simulation comprising 60 customers and 10 vehicles under three experimental modes.

  • Recently, embedded processor systems have been widely used in the field of information communication devices and increased its use range and influence. The embedded systems are offered variety of functions, and its operating systems have been developed to make them easy to repair and maintain. Especially embedded linux is very cheap and provide a lot of equipment drivers. Also we can set up our own system because the source code is opened. In this paper, we describe the implementation of Touch panel and TFT-LCD device driver that are widely used for multimedia application. We designed the system hardware by using Altera Nios II embedded system. And we implemented the device drivers of frame buffer, touch panel and i2s based on uClinux for multimedia application, and tested actual operations of the integrated system.

Implementation of Intelligent Home Network and u-Healthcare System based on Smart-Grid

  • In this paper, we established ZIGBEE home network and combined smart-grid and u-Healthcare system. We assisted for amount of electricity management of household by interlocking home devices of wireless sensor, PLC modem, DCU and realized smart grid and u-Healthcare at the same time by verifying body heat, pulse, blood pressure change and proceeded living body signal by using SVM algorithm and variety of ZIGBEE network channel and enabled it to check real-time through IHD which is developed by user interface. In addition, we minimized the rate of energy consumption of each sensor node when living body signal is processed and realized Query Processor which is able to optimize accuracy and speed of query. We were able to check the result that is accuracy of classification 0.848 which is less accounting for average 17.9% of storage more than the real input data by using Mjoin, multiple query process and SVM algorithm.

  • Telematics and LBS is one of rapidly emerged technology domains. In order to efficiently construct them, moving object technology which manages huge volume of real-time location data is required. Especially, the query which obtains special sorts of information closely related to the detailed applications is required in order to effectively retrieve and analyze the location data for moving object in logistics domain. It has also complex query structure comparing to the conventional database query. The approach using the standard database query language, like SQL, can be considered as an effective alternative choice. In this paper, we not only propose a new query language, entitled as MOQL based on SQL, for the query processing of the vehicle monitoring and control in e-Logistics but also design and implement the query processor.

  • This paper proposes a low-complexity processor to correct vignetting and barrel distortion for wide-angle cameras. The proposed processor calculates the required correcting factors by employing the piecewise linear approximation so that the hardware complexity can be reduced significantly while maintaining correction quality. In addition, the processor is designed to correct the two distortions concurrently in a singular pipeline, which reduces the overall complexity. The proposed processor is implemented with 18.6K logic gates in a $0.11{\mu}m$ CMOS process and shows the maximum correction speed of 200Mpixels/s for correcting an image of which size is $2048{\times}2048$.

  • The ultimate purpose of cities is 'the enhancement of quality of life in city'. In order to achieve this, it is required to optimize the Ontology-driven ubiquitous services included in the U-City and UIS of regions and communities and so on. Almost U-Service's contents are related to spatial or temporal extent. So it is important to design Spatio-temporal event schema for efficient access to U-City. There is a rapid change into an urban society in the shape of Ontology-driven ubiquitous services in which a content on a region or an incident is newly reconstructed through various ideas with the influence of the ubiquitous environment.

  • In this paper, an embedded micro processor based resistance spot welding controller is introduced which has been recently developed by Hyosung Co. Ltd. The performance of rapid and constant high current control is tested experimentally. This paper shows configurations of measuring system for high current and realtime RMS conversion techniques of sampled discrete data. A digital proportional control is adopted for this system and the result shows that this new product is working well at wide range of welding current and the performance is improved compared with some other commercially available controllers that are widely used in our industries. User friendly MMI system and a computer network system to monitor each welding processes are also presented.

MTCMOS Post-Mask Performance Enhancement

  • In this paper, we motivate the post-mask performance enhancement technique combined with the Multi-Threshold Voltage CMOS (MTCMOS) leakage current suppression technology, and integrate the new design issues related to the MTCMOS technology into the ASIC design methodology. The issues include short-circuit current and sneak leakage current prevention. Towards validating the proposed techniques, a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) processor has been implemented using the methodology, and a 0.18um process. The fabricated PDA processor operates at 333MHz which has been improved about 23% at no additional cost of redesign and masks, and consumes about 2uW of standby mode leakage power which could have been three orders of magnitude larger if the MTCMOS technology was not applied.

  • In this paper, a controller design for brushless linear motor is implemented. The designed controller is mainly composed of current, speed and position controller, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor (DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented by using 32-bit DSP (TMS320C31), a high-integrated logic device (EPM7192), and IPM (Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for the brushless linear motor.
