Single window has become a critical point of trade facilitation. While Korea has set up the first web based single window 'uTtradeHub', China has also been working on a seamless single window. As strong governmental support, advanced technology, leading agency and legal framework are success factors for single window, China already has solid foundation for this. For the leading agency, this research suggests the CIECC as a leading agency with linkage to E-Port service for seamless trade service for companies. We expect that Chinese single window will materialize in near future by a leading agency with the help of strong governmental support.

Paperless trade is a new trade paradigm that has innovated on traditional trade procedures, which relied on manual work in the past, and applied an IT-based e-document standard. To realize paperless trade in Korea, a lot of efforts have been made. Korea has overcome many difficulties, a lack of awareness, trials and errors, etc. at the initial introduction stage and strived to establish a stable infrastructure through the government's policy support and active cooperation with the trade business communities and related organizations. Now, Korea became a well-known leader in IT industry, especially in the paperless trade infrastructure and strategic policies. The one-stop trading system named 'uTradeHub' is operated by a paperless trade service provider, Korea Trade Network(KTNET). uTradeHub includes trade finance and settlement, customs clearance and export and import logistics, improving trading procedures and reducing related expenses. Private-Public joint efforts from Korean government and private sectors which have respectively fulfilled their role and function with market-oriented practical policies and strategies has lead Korea a world leading country in paperless trade. Moreover, Korea expended its efforts to the global areas. Korea has started to activate multi-national paperless trade alliances such as PAA(Pan-Asia e-Commerce Alliance), ASEAL(Asia Europe Alliance for Paperless Trading) as well as established the bilateral cooperative networks with China and Taiwan. The one-stop trading system, uTradeHub should keep close cooperations between nations since trade itself is implemented in a cross-border ways. In the near future, it is expected uTradeHub can achieve best results in the simplification of procedures and cost savings when an international linkage is completely established with international cooperations.

This paper presents the maritime education and training at CMA. There are two kinds of Federal Maritime Academies, i.e. U. S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) and U. S. Coast Guard Academy, which are supported by federal government and six State Maritime Academies operated by each state. CMA is a unique campus of the California State University(CSU). A specialized education combining classroom instruction, hands-on experience and professional development prepare students for a successful career in international business and logistics, maritime policy, engineering, technology or in the maritime and transportation industries. All students of CMA, under licensed faculty supervision, learn and train aboard the Training Ship Golden Bear during a two-month training cruise in their first year at CMA. Second-year students participate in a land-based cooperative, or sail on a commercial cruise or the Training Ship GOLDEN BEAR depending on their major. Third-year maritime licensing option students take a final cruise on the training ship, while other students participate in an additional land-based cooperative. In their senior year, students take license exams to complete graduation requirements.

국제 무역의 활성화와, 운송수단의 기술적 발전은 국가 간 교역을 증대시키게 되었다. 특히 해상 무역 물동량의 증가는 국제항을 다양한 재화 및 여객 소통의 중심으로 만들었고, 경제적 관문으로써의 중요성이 높아지고 있으며 점차 국가 주요 기반 시설로 자리 잡고 있다. 즉, 원활한 교역을 위한 물류 효율화 달성과 안전한 항만 운영을 위한 보안 제도 강화의 필요성이 증대됨에 따라, 이를 효과적으로 관리 유지할 필요가 있게 되었다. 이에 본 논문은 자동화 고부가가치 서비스가 가능한 정보 중심의 u-Port(Ubiquitous Port)를 국가 전략적 차원에서 육성한 대한민국 사례를 기반으로 효율적인 항만물류를 위한 기반 시스템으로 활용될 수 있도록 해운물류표준화 기구인 IMO(International Maritime Organization)에 선진 사례로 소개하고 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. u-Port는 수출입 화물 관리가 용이하며 항만 보안을 강화하는 등 항만 업무 효율화를 제공할 수 있다는 장점으로 향후 개발도상국 또는 후진국의 항만 업무 생산성 및 투명성을 높일 수 있는 기반을 지원할 수 있을 것이다.

최근 '정보기반 물류망'에서 'u-기반 물류망'으로 발전해 가고 있는 시점에서 'u-기반 물류망'을 위해 다양한 기반 기술들이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 물류 관리 시스템 구축을 위해 GPS 기반의 물류위치 추적 기법과 센서 Tag를 이용한 물류 배송 효율화 시스템을 설계하고 구현한다. 또한, 물류 배송 효율화를 위해 센서 Tag 네트워크 시스템을 제안하며, 이 센서 Tag 네트워크를 기반으로 수집된 센싱 정보를 이용하여 물류의 위치와 상태, 이동경로 등을 파악함으로서 물류의 배송이 효율적으로 이루어 질 수 있도록 지원한다. 제안된 시스템은 관리자에 의해 유지 보수 될 수 있는 제어 가능한 센서 Tag 네트워크(Controlled Network Layer)와 무제어 이동 센서 Tag 네트워크(Uncontrolled Moving Objects Layer)로 구분하여, 일반적인 센서 네트워크 시스템의 배터리 문제를 보완하고자 한다.

Purpose - In this study, we explore the relationship between the degree of internationalization (DOI) and firm performance (DOI-P) of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the manufacturing sector. Specifically, we investigate whether the costs and benefits dynamics concerning the internationalization of SMEs differ between high-tech and non-high-tech industries. Design/methodology - We extend the prior literature on this relationship by employing 5-year data on 589 Korean SMEs in the manufacturing sector and examining the moderating impact of the industry characteristics. Our findings reveal a U-shaped relationship between the DOI and SME performance. High-tech SMEs demonstrate an inverted U-shaped relationship, whereas non-hightech SMEs exhibit a U-shaped relationship. Findings - Our findings illustrate the importance of the industry factor in testing the performance impact of the internationalization of Korean SMEs. By incorporating industry dynamics, our results indicate that the DOI-P relationship depends on the context of the industry in which an SME operates. High-tech SMEs also display a higher DOI but are outperformed by non-high-tech SMEs for the entire internationalization path, which implies that high-tech SMEs face more challenges than non-high-tech SMEs while seeking internationalization. Originality/value - The findings strongly validate that significant benefits exist for SMEs undertaking internationalization. We also employ the contextual framework contributing to increasing the understanding of the intrinsic value of internationalization and resolving the mixed results issue on the DOI-P relationship, by illustrating that the industry factor leads to different dynamics of costs and benefits of SME internationalization; it also determines the shape and direction of the relationship.

우편물류망 시뮬레이터는 집중국, 교환센터로 구성된 물류체계에서 각 물류거점에서의 소통계획에 따라 운송할 때, 어떠한 물류체계가 우편만족도와 비용측면에서 우수한가를 시뮬레이션 하는 기능을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 우편물 종류별 처리기준, 물류거점간 운행시간, 수송단위 등을 고려하여 각 물류거점간에 직송하는 방법, 모든 물량을 교환센터로 두는 방법, 교환센터와 직송을 혼합하는 방법, 교환센터를 2곳을 사용하는 방법, 교환센터를 2곳 사용하면서 직송을 허용하는 방법에 대한 송달기준 만족도와 서비스 처리시간의 평가지표로 대안평가할 수 있는 우편물류망 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 우편물류망 시물레이터는 ARENA로 작성되었으며, 우편물류망 대안들에 대하여 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 시나리오 분석을 실시하였다.

RFID 기술을 이용함으로써 얻을 수 있는 많은 장점으로 인하여, 공급망에서 발생하는 실시간 제품 정보를 수집하고 관리하기 위하여 RFID 기술이 도입되고 있다. 기존의 RFID 기반의 공급망 관리 시스템은 제품의 위치에 따른 가시성은 확보할 수 있지만, 제품의 모든 상태에 따른 가시성은 확보하지 못한다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위해, 본 논문에서는 공급망 상의 제품 이동을 계획하고, 제품이 계획에 따라 이동할 때 발생하는 정보를 실시간으로 모니터링하고 통제할 수 있는 제품 상태 기반의 물류 통제 시스템을 설계하고 개발하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 첫째, 공급망에서 발생하는 제품 상태의 정의와 상태 변화의 흐름을 state chart로 표현하고, 둘째, 공급망에서의 폐쇄형관리 패러다임을 통한 제품 통제(감시 및 예외처리)를 정의하였으며, 셋째, Temporal data modeling을 통해 RFID 데이터 기반의 Database를 설계하고, 마지막으로, Publish/Subscribe 모델을 통해 효율적인 제품 상태 기반의 물류 통제 시스템 아키텍처를 설계하였다.

본 연구는 동북아 물류활성화를 위해 지정학적으로 환황해권의 유리한 위치와 우리나라의 경제중심지인 수도권을 배후로 하고 있는 평택항을 중심으로 한 경기지역의 물류네트워크 전략에 대한 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 수출입 컨테이너물동량의 유통채널의 분석과 물류네트워크 방식의 검토 및 사례분석을 통해 경기지역의 특성에 맞는 물류네트워크 방식에 대해 연구하였다. 따라서 하드웨어 개념인 각 거점별 물류시설간의 물류채널인 네트워크 구성방안에 대해 언급하였고 여기서 대권역과 소권역으로 분류하여 2단계 혼합물류네트워크 방식을 소개하였으며, 이러한 각 거점물류시설간의 효율적인 운영을 위해 가장 중요하다고 사료되어지는 물류정보시스템의 구축방안에 대해 언급하였다.

Instead of existing bar code system, RFID is now the core sensor technique of Ubiquitous computing and it will bring a revolution of corporation's logistics systems. In recent years, RFID becomes the center of government and other related companies and furthermore, its basic and applied techniques and have been established as various international standards. Many major countries announced application cases in various fields and concentrate their effort to make new RFID technologies as well. Recently Korean government announced the basic plan of u-Korea and all-out plan of activation of RFID/USN. SO in this paper, we will discuss two things; the trends of RFID technologies and the printing tag technique, which is needed to spread of RFID item units.
