가솔린 직접분사식 고압 슬릿 노즐 분사기의 팬형 분무 특성 고찰 (Pan-shaped Spray Characteristics of GDI High Pressure Slit Nozzle Injector)

  • A new stratified charge combustion system has been introduced and developed for GDI engines. Before this new GDI system, the stratified mixture was formed by a high pressure swirl injector. But, the special feature of new system is employed of a thin fan-shaped fuel spray formed by a slit type nozzle. Also, this system has been adopted a shell-shaped piston cavity. We made high pressure gasoline injection system and investigated the fan-shaped spray characteristics such as spray tip penetration, spray angle, SMD and velocities of droplets using PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) system and spray visualization system to obtain the concept of the new design and the fundamental data for the next generation GDI system. The experiment was performed at the injection pressures of 5 and 9MPa under the atmospheric condition.

  • To investigate characteristics and micro-explosion of single-droplets of emulsified fuel, water is mixed with diesel oil by using ultrasonic energy fuel feeding system. The fuel characteristics is analysed through H-NMR spectrum and micro-explosion phenomena of the emulsified fuel is also investigated. The life times of droplets of conventional diesel fuel, ultrasonic energy added diesel fuel and emulsified fuel we obtained additionally. According to this study, the micro-explosion phenomena of single-droplets happen in atmospheric pressure condition, a curve form of emulsified fuel's life tim is different from diesel fuel's one and the change of chemical structures is a cause of ultrasonic-energy-added diesel fuel effect.

기압배치형별 중부지방의 1월 최저기온 분포에 관한 연구: 철원의 최저기온을 중심으로 (A Study on the Distributions of Minimum Temperature during January in the Central Region of South Korea: focused on Minimum Temperature at Cheorwon)

  • 본 연구에서는 중부지방의 1월 최저기온 분포 특성을 파악하고 철원의 극한 최저기온의 원인을 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 중부지방 25개 관측소의 1991~2010년 1월 기온 분포 특성과 철원 기온과 춘천, 홍천, 봉화, 대관령, 원주, 제천 등 중부내륙 지역의 기온 차이를 기압배치형에 따라 분석하였다. 일평균기온과 평균 일최저기온은 철원과 해발고도가 높은 지역에서 낮게 나타나지만, $-15^{\circ}C$ 이하 일수와 같은 극한기온의 출현빈도는 철원에서 두드러졌다. 시베리아 고기압이 확장하거나 우리나라 북쪽에 이동성 고기압이 위치할 때 철원 기온이 비교지점에 비해 상대적으로 더 낮다. 이동성 고기압의 영향을 받을 때는 철원과 비교지점 간 기온 차이가 적거나, 봉화, 제천과 같은 분지의 기온이 더 낮다.

저온플라즈마 구동 촉매 반응기를 이용한 벤젠과 톨루엔의 처리 (Nonthermal Plasma-Driven Catalysis of Benzene and Toluene)

  • Nonthermal plasma-driven catalysis (PDC) was investigated for the decomposition of benzene and toluene as model compounds of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at atmospheric pressure and low temperature. Two types of catalysts Ag/$TiO_{2}$ and Pt/$\gamma-Al_{2}O_{3}$ were tested in this study. The amount of catalysts packed in the PDC reactor did not influence on the decomposition efficiency of benzene. The type of catalysts also had no influence on the decomposition efficiency of toluene and carbon balance. The Ag/$TiO_{2}$ catalyst showed constant $CO_{2}$ selectivity of about $73\%$ regardless of the specific input energy. However, the selectivity of $CO_{2}$ was greatly enhanced with the Pt/$\gamma-Al_{2}O_{3}$ catalysts, and reached $97\%$ at 205 J/L. Two test runs with 20 fold difference in the gas flow clearly indicated that lab-scale data can be successfully applied for the scaling-up of PDC system.

  • 최근 들어 유연한 폴리머 기판을 이용한 차세대 Flexible display는 다양한 장점으로 인해 많은 연구가들에 의해 유망한 차세대 디스플레이로 주목받고 있다. 일반적 폴리머 기판은 산소, 수분 등에 취약하기 때문에 무기막 또는 멀티레이어를 증착한다. 본 연구는 remote-type과 direct-type DBD로 구성되어 있는 double discharge system을 이용한 SiOx 무기막 증착 실험에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구에서는 HMDS/$O_2$/He/Ar gas mixture를 통해 발생된 대기압 플라즈마를 이용하여 공정을 진행하였다. SiOx를 증착할 때 SiOx 무기막 증착 실험은 $O_2$의 유량이 감소할수록 그리고 HMDS의 유량이 증가함에 따라 deposition rate, 즉 공정효율이 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 하지만 HMDS의 유량이 증가하고 $O_2$ gas 유량이 감소함에 따라 carbon과 hydrogen 등의 불순물의 함유도 함께 증가하게 되고 이로 인해 무기막의 특성이 약해지고, 유기적인 막 특성이 강해지게 된다. Double discharge system을 사용하였을 경우에는 remote-type DBD system을 사용하였을 때 보다 더 높은 공정 효율을 관찰할 수 있었고 동시에 더 낮은 불순물 함량을 가지는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 기판에 추가적으로 인가되는 power에 따라 discharge efficiency가 향상되어 Si-O bond 결합을 유도, 무기막적 특성이 강해지고, 또한 기판 바이어스 효과에 따라 증착무기막의 기계적인 강도 역시 향상됨을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Compost, Peatmoss, GAC의 복합 메디아로 충전된 Biofilter의 Toluene 제어특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Toluene Control Characteristics of Biofilter Packed with Compost, Peatmoss and GAC)

  • The primary objective of this study is to investigate the effect of media on the performance of biofilters. Two types of experiments were carried out in this study. The first type of experiment used a biofilter with the media composed of three different packing materials of compost, peatmoss and GAC(granular activated carbon), whereas the second type used a biofilter with the media composed of compost only. It was found from the two experiments that the biofilter composed of compost, peatmoss and GAC showed better performance than the one composed of compost only with the higher toluene removal efficiency, lower pressure drop, and more uniform media moisture content. In particular, no appreciable media compression occurred for the biofilter composed of compost, peatmoss and GAC, whereas significant media compression took place in the biofilter composed of compost only. As suggested by the other researchers, it is likely that GAC may be responsible for the higher toluene removal efficiency in the case of the biofilter composed of mixed media especially for the early stage of biofiltration due to its adsorption capability of toluene of such high concentration as 300 ppm. It was also regarded that GAC may playa major role in maintaining lower media pressure drop in the case of the mixed media than the media with compost only because of its mechanical strength resisting to the compression. Nonetheless, further refined experiments may need to draw more accurate conclusion. The results of the additional test run using the same mixed media showed that the biofilter system using the mixed media can be consistently operated for more than 100 days very stably despite sudden change in operating conditions of temperature and flow rate.

소듐냉각고속로 잔열제거계통 강제대류 소듐-공기 열교환기의 구조개념 설계 (Structural design concept of the forced-draft sodium-to-air heat exchanger in the decay heat removal system of PGSFR)

  • The FHX (Forced-draft sodium-to-air Heat Exchanger) employed in the ADHRS (active decay heat removal system) is a shell-and-tube type counter-current flow heat exchanger with M-shape finned-tube arrangement. Liquid sodium flows inside the heat transfer tubes and atmospheric air flows over the finned tubes. The unit is placed in the upper region of the reactor building and has function of dumping the system heat load into the final heat sink, i.e., the atmosphere. Heat is transmitted from the primary cold sodium pool into the ADHRS sodium loop via DHX (decay heat exchanger), and a direct heat exchange occurs between the tube-side sodium and the shell-side air through the FHX tube wall. This paper describes the DHRS and the structural design of the FHX.

Study of Nonstoichiometry and Physical Properties of the $Ca_xEu_{1-x}FeO_{3-y}$ System

  • A series of samples of the ${Ca_xEu_{1-x}FeO_{3-y}$ (x=0.00, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.00) system has been prepared at $1,250^{\circ}C$ under an atmospheric air pressure. X-ray diffraction analysis of the solid solution assigns the structure of the compositions of x=0.00, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 to the orthoferrite-type orthorhombic system, and that of x=1.00 to the brownmillerite-type orthorhombic one. The mole ratios of $Fe^{4+}$ ion in the solid solutions or ${\tau}$ values were determined by the Mohr's salt analysis and nonstoichiometric chemical formulas of the system were formulated from x, ${\tau}$, and y values. From the result of the Mossbauer spectroscopy, the coordination and magnetic property of the iron ion are discussed. The electrical conductivities are measured as a function of temperature. The activation energy is minimum at the composition of x=0.25. The conduction mechanism can be explained by the hopping of electrons between the mixed valences of $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Fe^{4+}$ ions.

진공실 온도에 의한 저온진공건조기의 열적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Characteristics of the Low Temperature Vacuum Dryer by the Vacuum Chamber Temperature)

  • Of the roughly four million known substances, about 60,000 are processed and sold ; many of these must be dried. Many materials are processed in the liquid state - ideal for mixing and reacting - but most products are needed or wanted as dry, or relatively dry, solids. Usually operation is just below atmospheric pressure, as with direct dryers, but some are built for vacuum operation with pressures as low as 26.66kPa abs.. In spite of the global-class aquiculture agriculture and fisheries technology of our country, the processing technologies are lags behind the other nations relatively. These problems are considered to be caused directly by the lack of drying technologies. This paper is concerned to the experimental results of drying heat transfer characteristics for the green energy type vacuum dryer for the high quality agriculture and fisheries production.

플라즈마 충진 촉매 시스템을 이용한 에틸렌 저감 연구 (Decomposition of Ethylene using a Hybrid Catalyst-packed Bed Plasma Reactor System)

  • A series of experiments using atmospheric-pressure non-thermal plasma coupled with transition metal catalysts were performed to remove ethylene from agricultural storage facilities. The non-thermal plasma was created by dielectric barrier discharge, which was in direct contact with the catalyst pellets. The transition metals such as Ag and $V_2O_5$ were supported on ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$. The effect of catalyst type, specific input energy (SIE) and oxygen content on the removal of ethylene was examined to understand the behavior of the hybrid plasma-catalytic reactor system. With the other parameters kept constant, the plasma-catalytic activity for the removal of ethylene was in order of $V_2O_5/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > $Ag/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ from high to low. Interestingly, the rate of plasma-catalytic ozone generation was in order of $V_2O_5/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ > $Ag/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, implying that the catalyst activation mechanisms by plasma are different for different catalysts. The results obtained by varying the oxygen content indicated that nitrogen-derived reactive species dominated the removal of ethylene under oxygen-lean condition, while ozone and oxygen atoms were mainly involved in the removal under oxygen-rich condition. When the plasma was coupled with $V_2O_5/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$, nearly complete removal of ethylene was achieved at oxygen contents higher than 5% by volume (inlet ethylene: 250 ppm; gas flow rate: $1.0Lmin^{-1}$; SIE: ${\sim}355JL^{-1}$).
