Synoptic Meteorological Classification and Analysis of Precipitation Characteristics in Gimhae Region Using 2DVD and Parsivel (2DVD와 Parsivel 이용한 김해지역 강수사례일의 종관기상학적 분류 및 강수 특성 분석)

  • During the research period, error analysis of the amount of daily precipitation was performed with data obtained from 2DVD, Parsivel, and AWS, and from the results, 79 days were selected as research days. According to the results of a synoptic meteorological analysis, these days were classified into 'LP type, CF type, HE type, and TY type'. The dates showing the maximum daily precipitation amount and precipitation intensity were 'HE type and CF type', which were found to be attributed to atmospheric instability causing strong ascending flow, and leading to strong precipitation events. Of the 79 days, most days were found to be of the LP type. On July 27, 2011 the daily precipitation amount in the Korean Peninsula reached over 80 mm (HE type). The leading edge of the Northern Pacific high pressure was located over the Korean Peninsula with unstable atmospheric conditions and inflow of air with high temperature and high humidity caused ascending flow, 120 mm/h with an average precipitation intensity of over 9.57 mm/h. Considering these characteristics, precipitation in these sample dates could be classified into the convective rain type. The results of a precipitation scale distribution analysis showed that most precipitation were between 0.4-5.0 mm, and 'Rain' size precipitation was observed in most areas. On July 9, 2011, the daily precipitation amount was recorded to be over 80 mm (CF type) at the rainy season front (Jangma front) spreading across the middle Korean Peninsular. Inflow of air with high temperature and high humidity created unstable atmospheric conditions under which strong ascending air currents formed and led to convective rain type precipitation.

Kinematic analysis of skill between flexed and extended type of knee during Jigeo-Cha-Gi in Taekwon-Do (태권도 찍어차기의 무릎편 유형과 구부린 유형의 운동학적 비교분석)

  • The study was to investigate kinematic difference between flexed and extended type of knee during Jigeo-Cha-Gi in Taekwon-Do. For this subjects participated were consisted of weights of fin (1), bantam (1) and welter class(1) of male 3 national representative level skilled in two type(flexed and extended type) of Jigeo-Cha-Gi. 3D cinematography analysis was performed for motion analysis and Kwon 3D ver. 3.1) was used for 3D coordinates & analysis variables calculation. In Temporal variable there was no significant difference statistically in all phases & total elapsed time between flexed and extended type, but flexed type was delayed more 0.016 sec than extended type. In displacement of COG there was significant difference in level of p<.05 showing longer mean 6.13 cm in case of flexed type than extended type in displacement of COG during all phase and too significant difference in level of p<.01 showing longer mean 4.4 cm in case of flexed type than extended type in displacement of COG in follow through phase. In velocity of COG there was significant difference in level of p<.001 showing higher mean 15.53cm/s in case of flexed type than extended type in velocity of COG(Y direction) during targeting phase and peak velocity(Y) was more fast 8.74 cm/s in extended type than flexed type. In velocity of leading leg in forward direction(Y) there was significant difference in level of p<.05 showing higher thigh mean value in case of flexed type than extended type but showing higher foot mean value in extended type at level of p<.001 than flexed type in velocity of COG(Y direction). In velocity of leading leg in vertical direction(Z) there was no significant difference in the second & third phase in case of vertical velocity level, but momentum transferred efficiently form proximal to distal endpoint. In front-back & right-left orientation angle of trunk there was possibility of more stable Jigeo-Cha-Gi in extended than flexed type by decreasing in right-left orientation angle of trunk. In relative angle of lower leg(hip, knee, ankle) there was significant difference in level of p<.001 showing longer mean 32.74 deg. in case of flexed type than extended type in hip joint during the second phase but maintained insufficient extended knee of mean 168 deg. in targeting phase.

Modeling & Dynamic Analysis for Four Wheel Steering Vehicles (4WS 차량의 모델링 및 동적 해석)

  • In this paper, we address vehicle modeling and dynamic analysis of four wheel steering systems (4WS). 4WS is one of the devices used for the improvement of vehicle maneuverability and stability. All research done here is based on a production vehicle from a manufacturer. To study actual system response, a three dimensional, full vehicle model was created. In past research of this type, simple, two dimensional, bicycle vehicle models were typically used. First, we modelled and performed a dynamic analysis on a conventional two wheel steering(2WS) vehicle. The modeling and analysis for this model and subsequent 4WS vehicles were performed using ADAMS(Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems) software. After the original vehicle model was verified with actual experiment results, the rear steering mechanism for the 4WS vehicle was modelled and the rear suspension was changed to McPherson-type forming a four wheel independent suspension system. Three different 4WS systems were analyzed. The first system applied a mechanical linkage between the front and rear steering mechanisms. The second and third systems used, simple control logic based on the speed and yaw rate of the vehicle. 4WS vehicle proved dynamic results through double lane change test.

FE Vibration Analysis and Structural Modification of Slim Type Optical Disk Drive (유한요소 해석을 통한 슬림형 광디스크 드라이브의 진동해석 및 구조 동특성 변경)

  • Recently, the need for slim type optical disk drive(ODD) has increased with popularization of lightweight notebook. Because of its lightweight and small structure, slim type ODD has low structural stiffness and it is weak to high-speed disk vibration. In this paper, Finite Element(FE) Model of slim type ODD is constructed and verified by experimental modal analysis. Additionally, sensitivity analysis is performed about structural parameters. As a result of sensitivity analysis, improved characteristic is verified by experiments using a sample of new model.

Analysis of Parallel Mechanisms with Forward Position Closed-Form Solution with Application to Hybrid Manipulator (정위치 해석해를 가지는 병렬 메카니즘에 관한 분석과 혼합구조 매니퓰레이터로의 활용)

  • In this work, a new 3-PSP type spatial 3-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism is proposed. And a 6 DOF hybrid manipulator which consists of a 3-PPR type planar 3 DOF parallel mechanism and a new 3-PSP type spatial 3-degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism is proposed. Both 3 DOF mechanism modules have closed-form forward position solutions and particularly, 3-PSP spatial module has unique forward position solution. Firstly, the closed-form position analysis and first-order kinematic analysis for the proposed 3-PSP type module are carried out, and the first-order kinematic characteristics are examined via maximum singular value and the isotropic index of the mechanism. It is shown through these analyses that the mechanism has excellent isotrpic property throughout the workspace. Secondly, position and kinematic analysis of the 3-PPR planar module are briefly described. Thirdly, the forward position analysis for the 3-PPR 3-PSP type 6 degree-of-freedom hybrid mechanism consisting of a 3-PPR planar module and a 3-PSP spatial module is performed along with the analysis of the workspace size and first-order kinematic characteristics. The kinematic characteristics of the proposed hybrid manipulator are compared to those of geometrically similar Stewart manipulator.

Item Analysis for Selecting Science Gifted Elementary School Student (초등과학영재교육원의 선발 문항 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the items that were used in entrance examination for science gifted education center for elementary school students by using content analysis and classical item analysis. In content analysis, objective type items exhibited matter and interpreting data were dominant. And essay type items consisted of creativity items, evaluated creative problem solving ability. Item difficulty and discrimination index, on the whole, were appropriate. Comparing with objective type, essay type has higher discrimination index. In correlation analysis between total score and score of each type of items, total score has the highest correlation with matter items, interpreting data and creativity.

  • This paper presents design and analysis of step-down piezoelectric transformer for application to AC-adapters. These transformers are consist of rectangular type and disk type multilayered piezoelectric ceramic plate. This piezoelectric transformer operated in third thickness resonance vibration mode. Finite element methode(FEM) was used for analysing transformer. Vibration mode and electric field of piezoelectric transformer were simulated at resonance frequency. As results, rectangular type transformer's output voltage was higher than the disk type. But disk type transformer's current was lagger than rectangular type. These results are assumed that disk type transformer's mixed vibration mode influence transformer's output characteristics. From these results, we expect that disk type piezoelectric transformer is more adoptable than rectangular plate type piezoelectric transformer for AC adapters.

An Analysis of the Somatotype of Elderly Women (노인여성의 측면체형 분석)

  • through Sid View Silhouette The purpose of this study was to pro-vide basic information for elderly women's clothing construction and to develop dress forms that can reflect the charac-teristics of their bodies. The subjects were 251 elderly women aged from 60 to 81. Data were collected from 34 photographic measurements of each subject and analyzed by factor analysis cluster analysis analysis of variance. The results were as follows: 1. A decrease in height the bustline drops as age increase. From a lateral view point most of the subjects have straight posture with protruding ab-domens but the somatotype gradually bends bends forward with age. 2) Five factors were extracted from photometric measurement which explain 81.0% of variance. 3 Through cluster analysis using 5 fac-tor scores four types were categorized. Type I was turning over somatotype Type II was swayback somatotype Type III was straight somatotype Type IV was bending somatotype according to its po-sition to the relative plumb liner and their side view contour.

  • The mechanism of Stewart platform has many advantages for kinematic analysis and control. Thus there have been many research about employing this mechanism in the new type of machine tool. Since the vibration caused during the manufacturing process has a severely adverse effect on the machining precision. it is very important to enhance the vibrational characteristics. However. it is not easy to use finite element model for the vibration analysis. That is because the vibration behaviors of the structure vary in a complicated manner according as the length of links varies. In this paper, a Stewart platform type of machine tool is modeled in finite element method and then updated by using the experimental modal data. Finally. the static and dynamic characteristics of the finite element model are predicted and then discussed.

Impact Analysis for Sonar Domes Collided with Logs (수중 부유물에 의한 소나돔 충격해석)

  • During navigation of warships, sonar domes have been damaged by collision with floating objects like logs. In order to analyze the damage of a sonar dome from collisions with a log, The analytical method and the numerical analysis using ABAQUS are performed. Throughout the analytical method, the mechanism of collision between a sonar dome and log is analyzed. To design a sonar dome, the numerical analysis for A type sonar dome and the B type sonar dome have done considering fluid loading effect around the sonar domes with normal and maximum speeds of the ship, respectively. The numerical analysis results of the A type sonar dome and the B type sonar dome are compared and analyzed.
