Seismic and vibration mitigation for the A-type offshore template platform system

  • In this study an improved design method for the traditional A-type(or V-type) offshore template platform system was proposed to mitigate the vibration induced by the marine environmental loadings and the strong ground motions of earthquakes. A newly developed material model was combined into the structural system and then a nonlinear dynamic analysis in the time domain was carried out. The analysis was focused on the displacement and rotation induced by the input wave forces and ground motions, and the mitigation effect for these responses was evaluated when the viscoelastic damping devices were applied. The wave forces exerted on the offshore structures are based on Stokes fifth-order wave theory and Morison equation for small body. A step by step integration method was modified and used in the nonlinear analysis. It was found that the new design approach enhanced with viscoelastic dampers was efficient on the vibration mitigation for the structural system subjected to both the wave motion and the strong ground motion.

  • In this paper, authors will develop the quick and precise remote controller of automatic fire detection equipment (P-type one-class receiver) based on information communication technology (IT). The remote controller detects the fire and disaster in the building automatically and quickly and then activates the facilities to extinguish the fire and disaster, monitoring such situation in a real time through wire-wireless communication network. The proposed remote controller is applied a programmable logic device (PLD) micom. of one-chip type which is small size and lightweight and also has highly sensitive-precise reliabilities. The one-chip type PLD micom. analyzes digital signals from sensors, then activates fire extinguishing facilities for alarm and rapid suppression in a case of fire and disaster. The detected data is also transferred to a remote situation room through wire-wireless network of RS232c and bluetooth communication, and then the situation room sends an emergency alarm signal. The automatic fire detection equipment (AFDE) based on IT will minimize the life and wealth loss while prevents fire and disaster.

  • In [1], Maffei proved a certain relationship between quiver varieties of type A and the geometry of partial flag varieties over the nilpotent cone. This relation was conjectured by Naka-jima, and Nakajima proved his conjecture for a simple case. In the Maffei's proof, the key step was a reduction of the general case of the conjecture to the simple case treated by Nakajima through a certain isomorphism. In this paper, we study properties of this isomorphism.

ORDER RESTRICTED TESTS FOR SYMMETRY AGAINST POSITIVE BIASEDNESS

  • Two new types of positive biasedness, which are closely related to Type III positive biasedness (Yanagimoto and Sibuya, 1972), are proposed. We call these near Type III positive biasedness. Though no implication between Type II and near Type III biasedness exists, near Type III seems to be less restrictive than Type II biasedness. Constrained maximum likelihood estimates of distribution functions under near Type III positive bisedness are obtained. The likelihood ratio tests of symmetry against new positive biasedness restrictions are proposed. A small simulation study is conducted to compare the performance of the tests.

외식창업교육 체험프로그램을 통한 조리전공 재학생의 주관적 인식유형 연구 -팝업레스토랑을 중심으로- (A Study on Culinary Arts Major Students's Type of Subjectivity Recognition through Restaurant Start-up Experience Program -Focused on Pop-up Restaurant-)

  • 본 연구는 외식창업교육 체험프로그램 중 창업동아리에서 운영하는 팝업레스토랑에 참여한 조리전공 학생들의 주관적 인식을 파악하고자 Q방법론을 적용하여 분석하였으며, 이들 사이에서 발견되는 공통적인 구조를 도출하여 유형들 간의 특성을 기술하고 분석 한 후 향후 시사점을 제시하였다. 유형분석 결과 총 5가지의 유형이 도출되었다. 제 1유형(N=4) : 학습효과 증대 형 (Increase learning effect type), 제 2유형(N=8): 구성원의 협업 중요 형 (Collaboration of members importance type), 제 3유형(N=6): 마케팅 홍보 필요 형 (Marketing PR Needed type), 제 4유형(N=4): 외식창업 계획 형(Restaurant business plan type), 제 5유형(N=3): 산업체 실무 경력 필요 형 (Industry work experience required type)으로 명명 하였으며, 각각의 유형마다 다양한 특징이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구는 향후 관련 유사연구에서 외식창업교육 체험 프로그램을 경험한 학생들 간의 차이분석, 학년별 측정 시기의 다양화를 통해 진행 될 수 있는 다른 유형의 연구를 위한 기초자료로 사용 될 수 있을 것이다.

부자식 유량계의 성능특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristics of Float Type Flow Meter)

  • Precise measurement of flowrate is considered as an important measuring factor in mechanical and chemical experiment. Although there are many methods to measure flowrate, Float type flowmeter is widely used because of its easy attachment to piping and high measuring precision. To design the precise float type flowmeter, much design information such as tapered-tube dimensions, float size, float shape and float material is required. In this paper, fundamental design theory for float type flowmeter according to the given flowrate range is suggested and compensation coefficients of volumetric and weight flowrate for water, R-113 and air are calculated.

PDP용 배기로내 열전달 현상 해석 (Heat Transfer Analysis in a PDP Ventilation Chamber)

  • A heat transfer analysis in a ventilation chamber of Plasma Display Panel(PDP) has been conducted. The process requirement is to precisely follow prescribed temperature trajectory while maintaining temperature uniformity for each panel. Firstly, experiment in a test chamber has been carried out and the results are compared with the unsteady 3D numerical data. Reasonable agreement was found, which suggested that the employed numerical model had its credibility in actual PDP ventilation processes. On this ground, a tact-type heating/cooling system was analyzed. The panel temperature in the 40$^{\circ}C$ tact-type system was more uniform than that in the 80$^{\circ}C$ one. For improving the uniformity of panel temperature, relocation of ventilation head to the rear part and inlet flow control are required. Comparison of full simulation of a cart and simplified simulation of one panel indicates the optimized panel pitch can also be predicted.

이온 주입법을 이용한 ZnO 박막의 As 도핑 (Arsenic Doping of ZnO Thin Films by Ion Implantation)

  • ZnO with wurtzite structure has a wide band gap of 3.37 eV. Because ZnO has a direct band gap and a large exciton binding energy, it has higher optical efficiency and thermal stability than the GaN material of blue light emitting devices. To fabricate ZnO devices with optical and thermal advantages, n-type and p-type doping are needed. Many research groups have devoted themselves to fabricating stable p-type ZnO. In this study, $As^+$ ion was implanted using an ion implanter to fabricate p-type ZnO. After the ion implant, rapid thermal annealing (RTA) was conducted to activate the arsenic dopants. First, the structural and optical properties of the ZnO thin films were investigated for as-grown, as-implanted, and annealed ZnO using FE-SEM, XRD, and PL, respectively. Then, the structural, optical, and electrical properties of the ZnO thin films, depending on the As ion dose variation and the RTA temperatures, were analyzed using the same methods. In our experiment, p-type ZnO thin films with a hole concentration of $1.263{\times}10^{18}cm^{-3}$ were obtained when the dose of $5{\times}10^{14}$ As $ions/cm^2$ was implanted and the RTA was conducted at $850^{\circ}C$ for 1 min.
