Theoretical analysis is performed on a multi-mode energy harvester design with focus on the first two vibration modes. Based on the analysis, a modification is proposed for designing a novel adaptive multi-mode energy harvester. The device comprises a simply supported beam with distributed mass and piezoelectric elements, and an adaptive damper that provides a 180 degree phase shift for the motions of two supports only at the second vibration mode. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulations show that the new design can efficiently scavenge energy at the first two vibration modes. The energy harvesting capability of the multi-mode energy harvester is also compared with that of a cantilever-based energy harvester for single-mode vibration. The results show that the energy harvesting capacity is affected by the damping ratios of different designs. For fixed damping ratio and design dimensions, the multi-mode design has higher energy harvesting capacity than the cantilever-based design.

In this paper, we have made a comparison between secondary ion mass spectroscopy(SIMS) data by the 5kcV-15keV boron implantation and computer simulation results. In order to make electrical activation of implanted carriers, thermal annealing are carried out by RTP method for 30s at 1000$^{\circ}C$ Two dimensional doping concentration distribution from different mask dimensions under inert gas annealing, dry-, and wet-oxidation condition were calculated and simulated with microtec simulator.

We present a family of elaborate numerical models for simulation and systematic optimization of complex LCDs for demanding applications (e.g. LCD-TV). These numerical models comprise modules for solving LCD-related problems in one, two and three dimensions. The three modules feature an intuitive graphical user surface for a jump-start into modeling, a common database for a range of materials and components as well as sophisticated and proven algorithms with more than 15 years of reliable performance in the LCD-industry. Methods for obtaining data required for the modeling of key components are presented.

Valuable insight into the nonlinear dynamics of a system can be gleaned from its response to a single intense short pulse. We derive expressions for the corresponding nonlinear response functions and show that the fluctuation-dissipation theorem may be extended beyond the linear response limit to an arbitrary pulse intensity. As an illustrative example, we calculate response functions up to 11th order for the regular Lorentz gas in two dimensions.

This paper reports on a contingency framework for selecting the most appropriate strategy to implement the enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) system in an organization. The two dimensions of our framework are information technology level and culture level of organization. For each of the four contingencies, we recommend a desirable implementation strategy, based on scope and pace of the implementation effort. ERP implementation data from ten organizations were analyzed to validate the proposed framework.

The Korean Anthropometric Survey (Size Korea) is a sample survey which estimates on percentiles of several dimensional measurements of the human body arid its component parts. The purpose of this study is to design a sample, which is designed on the base of 1997 survey database. Two different methods are considered to get the sample size for estimating the 5th and 95th percentile of body dimensions of Korean age range 0-80 years.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the types of apparel usage situations percieved by female consumers. Data (N=132) were collected via a questionnaire developed on the focused stoup interviews and previous studies. By multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis, two dimensions of perceptual criteria on apparel usage situations are identified: formality, and normative aspects of apparel style. Results indicate that apparel usage situations perceived by female consumers can be classified into four major types: (1) Formal-Normative Situations, (2) Informal-Normative Situations, (3) Informal-Normless Situations, and (4) Formal-Normless Situations.

In this manuscript we solve in the positive a question informally proposed by Enflo on the measure of the set of isometric reflection vectors in non-Hilbert 2-dimensional real Banach spaces. We also reformulate equivalently the separable quotient problem in terms of isometric reflection vectors. Finally, we give a new and easy example of a real Banach space whose dual has a non-trivial L-summand that does not come from an M-ideal in the predual.

Numerical study has been conducted in two dimensions about a NACA0012 airfoil with an oscillating microflap on the surface. We show that this microflap is effective in controlling the unsteady stall at high angles of attack. We solve the compressible Navier-Stokes equations for the Reynolds numbers with an extensible chimera grid fitted to the oscillatory microflap. For turbulent calculation, we adopt the SST $k-{\omega}$ model. We investigate the parametric effect of angle of attacks, Reynolds number, and the location where the microflap is installed.
