Design of Educational Software for Digital Image Editing (교육용 영상 편집기의 기능 설계)

  • According to the common use of digital images, the need of image editing software is being increased rapidly. In this paper, we surveyed and summed up general users about their use style, favorite menus, troublesome functions about their image editing software. It was examined that about 73 % of the users thought that image editing software were more difficult than other applications thanks to the superfluous menu and function structure. We designed and proposed a new structure of menus and functions for general users to learn easily and make efficient use of an image editor.

  • A new voltage-scaled compensation pixel which employs 3 p-type poly-Si TFTs and 2 capacitors without additional control line has been proposed and verified. The proposed pixel does not employ the $V_{TH}$ memorizing and cancellation, but scales down the inevitable $V_{TH}$ variation of poly-Si TFT. Also the troublesome narrow input range of $V_{DATA}$ is increased and the $V_{DD}$ supply voltage drop is suppressed. In our experimental results, the OLED current error is successfully compensated by easily controlling the proposed voltage scaling effects.

  • All Inverter fed induction motor systems which the switching patterns are determined by the approximated sinusoidal modulation techniques have many troublesome problems such as the current ripple duing to harmoic components. Therefore, in this paper, the current and torque pulsations for a inverter fed induction motor drive system are analyzed and specified theoretically and the determination techniques of optimal switching patterns for minimization of these factors are presented. Also, these simulation results are compared to the ones obtained from the realized experimental system by one-chip microcomputer, 8751.

  • In this paper, the structure of CMAC address mapping is first revisited, and the address hashing function and the random mapping is discussed in the conventional CMAC implementation. Then the effective size of CMAC memory is derived from the modulus property of the CMAC address vector, and a new hashing function for the effective memory mapping is proposed for a CMAC implementation with feasible memory size and no troublesome random mapping. Finally, the performance of the conventional CMAC learning algorithm and that of the proposed new CMAC scheme arc compared via simulations.

  • The stabilization control of ball-beam system is difficult because of its nonlinearity and structural unstability. Futhermore, a series of classical methods such as the PID and the full state feedback controller(FSFC) based on the local linearizations have narrow stabilizable regions. At the same time, the fine tunings of their gain parameters are also troublesome. Therefore, in this paper, three improved design techniques of stabilization controller for a ball-beam system were proposed. These parameter tuning methods in the double PID controller(DPIDC), the FSFC and the a sliding mode controller(SMC) were dependent upon the Real Value Elitist Genetic Algorithm (RVEGA). Finally, by applying the DPIDC, the FSFC and the Real Variable Elitist Genetic Algorithm based Sliding Mode Control(RVEGA SMC) to the stabilizations of a ball-beam system, the performances of the RVEGA SMC technique were showed to be superior to those of two other type controllers.

  • In this study, the structure and properties of waste oyster shell and its phosphorus removal efficiency were investigated. Waste oyster shells are troublesome environmental waste in the coastal region where the oysters are produced. Waste oyster shells were pyrolyzed by bench-scale rotary kiln for its activation. It shows maximum 76% of phosphorus removal efficiency for the municipal wastewater and livestock wastewater. We found that the activated oyster shells can be used as a phosphorus removal agent with the consideration of high efficiency, easy processing, and cost effectiveness.

The effects of the residential variables on high school students' social personality (주거환경이 고교생의 사회성에 미치는 영향)

  • This is a study to grasp the correlation between high school students' social persenality and residential environment. THe samples were 197 boys and 200 girls who were attending the high schools located in Pusan. Social personality which contains family relations and social relations was measured by the standardized test of K.T.C. The path-analysis was used to make the causal relations of the collected data clear. RESULTS : 1. Feeling on the residential environment underwent the most potent influence by the floor space per person and social personality by feeling on the residential environment. 2. For the boy-students, the family relations andsocial relations was affected by the case of renthouse, the family relations by the case of noisy residence, and the social relations by the case of no-private room. 3. For the girl-students, the cases of higher stories and having private room made the family relations unharmonious, the cases of narrow floor space per person and the single house made the social relations troublesome, too.

  • Hershel found out Infrared for the first time, in the Industrial Revolution the Infrared and FlR had been begun to use making products. FIR with low temperature can deeply penetrate on the human body composed things without troublesome. since FIR has effectively operated on the human body at low temperature (35-40$^{\circ}$C). When FIR penetrated on the human body, it would inhibit the abnormal genes and cells expression, and then information of DNA and RNA would be reexpressed for arranging DNA and RNA abnormal state. As FIR's receptors in the body, it colud be presumed that N-glycosyl linkage of purine and deoxyribose, RNA splicing process. and Heat shock protein. To radiate optimized FIR, in this study, we made the FIR radiation compound and instrument for unharming biological things. According to the results, the FIR radiation to E. coli., it did not induce genetic mutations and change the survival rate of E.coli.

A Study on the Sensorless Realization of Magnetic Levitation System (자기 부상계의 센서리스 실현에 관한 연구)

  • The magnetic levitation system is utilized in the magnetic bearing of high-speed rotor because of little friction, no lubrication, no noise and so on. The magnetic levitation system need the feedback controller for the stabilization of system, and gap sensors are generally used to measure the gap. The use of sensor easily goes into troublesome caused by sensor failure discord between the measurement point and the control point etc. This paper presents the design of robust stabilizing contoller by $H_{\infty}$ control theory using the sensorless method proposed by authors in the magnetic levitation system. And we investigated both the validity of the designed controller and the usefulness of the sensorless magnetic levitation system through results of actual experiment.

Applicability of Using GC-PDD (Pulsed Discharge Detector) for Multiresidual Pesticides Analysis

  • The electron-capture detector (ECD) of gas chromatographs (GC) has been used widely in pesticide analysis. However, as ECD relies on radioactive material, it is troublesome to purchase and maintain. Therefore, potent replacements for ECD were investigated. A Pulsed-discharge detector (PDD) for ECD was tested and the analytical results of PDD (ECD mode), ${\mu}ECD$, and nitrogen-phosphorus detector (NPD) were compared for 107 pesticides including organochroline, organophosphorus, pyrethroids etc. The number of pesticides identified at the lowest limit of detection (LOD) was 36, 29, and 2 for PDD, ${\mu}ECD$, and NPD, respectively. The remaining pesticides showed same response to PDD and ${\mu}ECD$. The GC-PDD analysis of pesticides spiked into representative agricultural products (brown rice, spinach, and mandarin oranges) also showed good and/or equivalent recoveries using $GC-{\mu}ECD$.
